You had been warned not to dabble in the occult, not to trifle with ancient knowledge that you could not possibly hope to understand. Yet you opened Pandora's box, and you did not like what you found inside.
Now something is pursuing you, terrorising you - Something that isn't bound to the rules of our reality. Ghosts? Some sort of demon? You wish you knew, although part of you is also glad you don't. What you do know is that you have to finish what you started - and fast.
Terrified and desperate, the only thing you can think of is to seek the assistance of the old woman who first told you of the ritual. She is the only one who can help you end this nightmare.

creepy as fuck
need more horror racing? games
Great horror driving game, love the atmosphere and simplicity of it
Yeah, like everyone says, it's neat and moody but pretty shallow. I think there's an idea for a good game here, but I don't really want to play a non skill based driving game where I die a lot for no reason.
A pretty niche horror/driving-sim with very minimalist design that is effective at creating an oppressive atmosphere.
Story is simple to the point of it barely being there but it works. You begin in a witches cabin discussing a ritual that will grant the player what ever they desire at a price. You simply type in your wish then begin the first half of the ritual after which you are sent to retrieve 3 items for the latter half. You set off in your car and the game begins.
Your car is driven with the WASD keys which feels kind of stiff but I found it fairly easy to adjust to after the first leg. It definitely feels like you're fighting to stay on the road at times but the spirit is definitely in the same vein as survival horror tank-controls. The twist is that the road changes depending on your mental state, driving is simple when you are mentally well taken care of but increasingly severe hallucinations begin to set in as your mental well being deteriorates. These hallucinations range from bits of gore occasionally dropping on the windshield to complete breaks from reality. It makes for some pretty tense moments in the rural backwater outside of the sporadic urban environments, especially when driving with damage and a dwindling fuel reserve.
Money can be earned picking up hitchhikers who occasionally appear on the side of the road. There's some nice sound design as their footfalls crunch in the gravel as they approach your car. They do little else than sit silently in the backseat and look menacing in the rear view but the presence of a scowling face staring back at you as you try to navigate the night is pretty off putting.
Your main goal is pursued in the dozen or so cities on the map. Exploration is basic, you click on a list of locations to enter. You will mainly be upgrading your car and making repairs at the mechanics, seeking aid for your mental health in the form of medicine or cigarettes at the pharmacy or convenience store and purchasing one of the three objective items in the pawn shop. There are back alleys to explore that can yield some loot but I didn't engage with this much as it usually didn't turn out well for me. Basic as they are, the cities are a nice little break from driving and contribute to the atmosphere. The shopkeepers are all unfriendly and shrouded in shadow making the world feel just a tiny bit more hostile and the static images of skylines add a little diversity to the scenery after driving through the dark countryside and decaying outskirts.
Graphically it looks like a 5th gen console game with the jagged polygons and dithering. NPC's have a nice hand drawn look to them, making them pop out in the gritty interiors and the hallucinatory distortions that pop up during driving are effectively creepy and disturbing. Like everything else its simple and dirty in a way that benefits the experience.
There's some small complaints here and there, points where the players mental health seemed entirely drained regardless of how many drugs and cigarettes consumed and the random obstacles sometimes felt a little cheap. It can also run on the short end depending on your luck with which items spawn where (i'd say 30 minutes to an hour and a half has been my ballpark time to complete after 2 or 3 runs) and the ending is kind of predictably underwhelming. Regardless, its a gem and a pretty original horror experience.
8/10
So I got this game for really cheap as it was on sale, and still it wasn't worth it.
The horror boiled down to spooky things happening around you while you're driving with little rhyme or reason or a garbled voice telling you how you will fail. I suppose if you're an easily scared streamer or youtuber the random horror moments and frustration will make for good content.
The gameplay is just you driving 30mph (you can drive faster but it will just get you killed) while avoiding random obstacles on the road like a corpse, a car spawning into existence a couple of feet in front of you, a car clipping through a train and smashing into you, birds, or someone throwing a bin at you. Also, if you make a mistake once and crash you go all the way back to the beginning of the game. There's no checkpoints.
I suppose it's an accurate simulation of driving in England at night at least.
Love the supernatural events. Cheesy, but never gets old. Great arcade game play if you need to pass some time.
A good short horror game with diffrent endings depending on your chocies.
The game is $3 my friend, so why are you reading this?! 3 dollars! I bought this game selling random trading cards I accrued through Steam play, and you could too. And yes... it's worth it. $3 dollars man. Get a job.
Okay seriously. It's a great little ride. If you however, like me, easily find yourself road raging in real life, well, take a chill pill before you load in, because some BS awaits. Okay, a lot of BS. People here can't drive. It's almost literally like driving through Kansas City, because people will forget what side of the road they drive on, there will be body parts flying out of a moving vehicle, and you'll get honked at constantly for things that are not your fault.
Every run is going to be slightly different. It's at it's best your first few time through when you really have no idea what's going to be happening to you. Enjoy those rides. I can't count the number of WTF moments when I first loaded this up. I was on edge, and really concerned that my character forgot to buckle the seat belt, because I knew I was as likely to crash as my drunk Uncle on the 4th of July.
The money is tight... As tight as you are with yours. It's $3 Bucks man, why are you still reading this? I digress. You really have to be careful with your funds if your going to make it through. Even then, even when you're really trying, you might not have enough, because nothing is more horrifying then not having enough money for gas, a pack of cigarettes, AND your soul. It's a lot like real life with all this inflation. Still, you will start with more than $3 and have a decent chance of survival, just like you do right now.
The controls are easy to grasp and play with, and very very fun. It's so simple, yet extremely satisfying, or rage inducing, dependent upon how brutal the run is being on you. It's just a few buttons, but each one can save you're life, except maybe the button for the radio. Even when it's working right it's creepy. Who listens to that by choice?! It's clear the character was unhinged from the start.
Graphically, well... This is why you didn't spend the $3 isn't it?! Yeah, they are not great, but it adds to the charm, for me personally anyway. I actually enjoyed something that was more akin to the games I played way way back in the day. Lord knows there is as much BS in it too. It's all passable, and does what it's trying to do very well, and that's build tension, scare you, and make you start drinking to forget how awful of a driver you truly are.
The sound is GREAT. Again, so simple, yet so effective. The quiet is very quiet, and everything else, is very unnerving. The intro really sets the tone for what you're going to experience going forward, and remember, going forward is all you're going to do. There is no going back.
All and all a great little game. I highly recommend it, especially for your spooky season catalog of games. It's a really nice one to throw on come October. It's quick, entertaining, spooky, and ... only cost $3 dollars my dude.
This game has a really interesting atmosphere, and it's a fun time waster. But that's about it, most if not all deaths are due to something that is out of your control.
Super fun to stream on Discord tho.
