WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE'S A SEQUEL?
Love it, very relaxing for me.
Cool game, really wish i could get the daily track achievement and 100% though because the servers are dead lol
Other than that, pretty fun, especially if you used to play the mobile game based off this. Also very cheap when I got it.
I wish this game was better, but it's certainly unique. Most of my complaints stem from the fact that this was obviously a very small team, so the things I want (more hand-made levels, scenery to differentiate levels, vehicles that look a lot more unique than the ball parts on display, more music, etc. etc.) are mostly a consequence of this not being a huge production.
The one thing I wish I had was more control in the air. I think an interesting change would be to reduce the time you can stay in the air, but let you change your pitch up or down for more control. Oftentimes it feels like taking a shortcut depends on my being able to calculate the falling trajectory on the fly, and I just wish I had a bit more control.
Overall though, I think this is a great game especially at this price. I've only really played it solo but i suspect it would a lot of fun to get a group together for this.
Proud [oldbuild] enjoyer, wake me up when the og up/down steering is back cus thats what set this apart from the regular ol' Impossible Road (gameplay-wise) smh
Love this game. Super fun. I play it a lot with my friends and we all get very competitive with it.
Pros:
* can be very competitive
* losses feel fair, getting set back to your last checkpoint feels fair
* good amount of customization with the ball
* love the procedurally generated maps; it helps keep things feeling fresh and prevents people from simply memorizing the maps
Cons / suggestions for improvement:
* Customizing track complexity is not available in online race
* different user interface / user experience and customization options between online race vs local race, would prefer this to be unified under just "multiplayer" or something like that
* would like to be able to race online and local at the same time (as in having two+ people on the same computer racing against other people who are playing online)
Very good for competetive players. Supporting Local Multiplayer (up to 4 players) with controller support, the game delivers intense gameplay that is easy to pick up on, and not too difficult to master. Really wish the devs would change the name so that it's not in all caps, though.
I am writing this review when it is still in early access. I will update it in the future, when the game is released. Review is written from the point of 4-player split screen gameplay.
Game is not about racing and cheating (well a bit :P ) but actually about tension and risk managment. When I was racing with buddies, we were telling each other how far we got - gate number. And this is insane, how the forth guy makes insane cheats to catchup, when first guy is going rather safe to keep his place secured. That's actually cool, since there is real tension with game. I miss it in other titles.
Also, to people whining about 5 second time in space. That's eternity when you know what you are doing. You shouldn't do so big jumps, game would be pointless otherwise, since you could try to fly to the end line. What's even the point? No danger, no fun.
From technical point - i didn't have any troubles. Many 4-player games have some weird gimmicks with pads, but this is not a case with this game. Settings are ok, runs ok - all is good. Also, no lags in splitscreen what is also nice.
I am waiting for a bit more varied modes, and customization.
This game has a basic concept: Race to the finish, and be as fast as possible, by any means possible. There is no thing as "unintentional shortcuts", all this game consists of is cheating, and staying off-track as much time as possible to go faster than your opponents, but no so much that you get sent back to the last checkpoint.
There are 4 main game modes:
- Race: Racing against friends on local mode or online is really fun, and with all the tracks being ramdomly generated, no one can have any advantage for "knowing them better than others". The only problem is playing against the AI, which can become boring quite soon.
- Survival: This mode could be a challenge if it became more difficult overtime. However, the only thing to do is to follow the path, and nothing incentives the player into diving for a shorcut, since the only thing that matters in this mode is staying on track without dying.
- Time gate: Probably the best mode in the game. You are alone, and the only enemy is the time limit. This mode wants you to play risky, using boost and trying shourtcuts as much as you can, creating many interesting scenarios.
- Daily race: A randomly generated course that everyone in the world can play for a day, and the best times get uploaded online. However, due to having unlimited tries and dying not having any drawbacks other than losing IRL time, the only strategy becomes flying constantly and crashing into the side walls to avoid gettint reset. It wouldn't be much of a problem if this wasn't the only viable option.
The game's great, and it handles really good. It's still on Early Access, so anything can change, hopefully, for the better. If you're into racing games, or are seeking for a good local multiplayer, this is your game.
Love the game and the music,
The game premise is all about risk and reward and i think it's very well implemented.
Gameplay-wise, it's very easy to control, you can be totally high and still do well.
Controlls: left-right-boost-respawn.
Needs more content and there is a bug that makes the music stop playing.
I'm not sure how I found this game, but this is great. If you have any fond memories of finding shortcuts in kart racing games, then this game is right up your alley. It's fast paced, frenetic, and pretty damn good looking too. My only complaint at the moment is there's not too much content yet. Incredible start though.
Has potential, but at this state it's not worth the cost.
You'll have fun for a few minutes, and that's it. It's more like a minigame to be honest. At this stage of development I don't recommend it at all, as there is absolutely nothing to it, other than a local co-op, which if you want to play with friends should be fun. Although, as I said, the game is not worth the cost at this state. There is simply not enough game.
SUPER IMPOSSIBLE ROAD is an intersting take on the infinite marble track survival game. The concept itself isn't new, I have a very similar game on my tablet that I bought for $2, but it's a fresh and genuine take on the formula.
First off, I can tell that this is either the devlopers first ever game, or he is still in school and has used his knowledge to make this game, that being said, this shouldn't be taken as a bad thing, as one can see a well excecuted first attempt.
Some pros and cons of the game are:
Pros:
Interesting take on an existing fromula, with some interesting innovations
Mechanics are solid and in-game controls feel robust and well managed
Challenging without being fustrating
Lovely asthetic and and visual appeal, even if it still needs some polish
Excellent and enjoyable soundtrack.
Haven't encountered any game breaking bugs or glitches so far
Cons:
The biggest issue with this game is the lack of content, not nearly enough to justify the $14 asking for this game. (The game is in early acess though, so take it with a grain of salt)
Menu navigation is a bit clunky and some of the normal menu controls aren't the same here (For instance, Space is select instead of enter)
The game is lacking polish in areas. The game's opening window/configurator commonly seen with Unity games is lacking a cover screen, control remapper, or graphics presets (Although most users won't nesecarily see this window, it does seem a little off that the game has leftit baren when most other games fill it with something)
The tracks for the levels seem almost untextured, definately more room for smaller details and variance in level design.
Level design needs more work/variance. While the game is challenging without being fustrating, you soon find yourself hitting the difficulty celeing fairly quickly. The infinite survival mode soon becomes predictable and survival becomes less about difficulty and more about not making mistakes.
Keep in mind that his game is still in early acess, and will no doubt improve immensly with future updates. The game is fun and challenging, while providing an innovative take on this style of game. It's enjoyable enough to stay in my library and I eagerly wait to see what lies ahead for this game.
It's not a terrible game by any means, and definitely an interesting take on a racing game. However, it gets really boring after the first few races if you're playing alone, even on the highest track complexity. There's currently nothing in the way in progression, which I figure is due to the early access status, so don't go in expecting any unlockables or anything like that. I think that eventually this game will gain some traction as it adds more content, but personally I don't recommend this game at its current stage.
What a rush! Zooming down a spirally raceway in space sounds cool, right? This game does one better: NO BARRICADES. You roll off, you're gone. Or are you? Plummet past your opponents, land just right, and you're ahead of the race. And what a sensation! This game will put butterflies in your tummy and a grin on your face.
It's a funny game with a lot of potential.
Good point they added local multiplayer.
Please add more maps/scenarios and make them more complex.
I don't mean more difficult, but more stuff floating in space or something like that. Like a deathstar or tie fighters flying by for example.
Or make completly new maps with different gameplay.
Please improve the free fall movement it's to simple/linear in my opinion.
Anyway keep it going guys i see lot of potential in this!

This game is seriously intese, you gotta be ON IT!
Every play is a different course.... although this keeps things original I think having the choice to save a course for later or best of tournaments could make for a better more equally challenging offline multiplayer. Power ups and weapons could bring so much diversity to this game.
Seriously fun to play even if only in small doses.
It's a Steam Library must have IMO
Super Impossible Road, a futuristic themed, downhill and procedurally generated racing game.
SIR is not like usual racing games, the key that make it's unique from the other racing games is that you need to take a shortcut to win a race. the boundaryless procedurally generated tracks on SIR can really test your creativity on taking a smart good shortcut.
SIR is about how race a ball to the bottom of the track, and you are always given the freedom how to reach the bottom as fast as you can, that's such a simple but awesome concept. what i feel from is that this game is very tricky, fast paced and you need to win not only with your speed, but you need more help from your creativity.
overall this game is very fun and challenging, it's really worth to keep an eye on this game, i'm very excited to see the game progresses and what can be offer in the future. i'm sure this game got big potential and many people will loves playing this game in the future.
i almost forgot to mention that this game has a fantastic physics, without a good physics this game will be less tricky and less fun to play
9/10 Definitely a great adaptation to the classic IOS Game, "Impossible road" and soon to be a wonderful multiplayer experience on console and PC

A futuristic racing game reminiscent of a Tron bike race, coliding with a giant futuristic gumball machine.
The splitscreen functionality is a great idea. I miss the old days of having friends over and raging over a game of Mario Kart!!!
The Pros:
I LOVE cheating!
Great Graphics
Requires thinking ahead, and the tracks are randomized every time.
Controls are intuitive and easy to learn (I played with a controller)
Would make a great party / drinking game
Very fun, and skill pays off.
The music is great, although not many tracks.
The Cons:

Few levels to choose from (I'm sure this will change soon)
Bouncing can sometimes be unpredictable, but hey. tough luck, STOP CHEATIN!
No online play as of now.
Once this game is finished I believe it will be, and should be in every competitive online players arsenal.

Great game: The concept, visuals and dynamics makes it very engaging. Hopefully it will get better when the online multiplayer and other features gets released.
First impressions are good. Really fun, furious futuristic racing with a brilliant twist. Colourful graphics, great soundtrack, a promising start.
The gameplay is tricky without being infuriating. You can ease yourself into the flow of the game with various options that make things a little more forgiving; The AI and tracks have variable difficulty. Create the race you want.
What sets this out from other future racers? Procedurally generated tracks, vertical shortcuts and GIANT SPACE BALLS. That's the genius of it. Can't wait to see what's next for the game. *FIRST IMPRESSIONS VIDEO BELOW...*

Much like the iOS game, this is game is inspired by the shortcuts you would find in rainbow road on mario kart. You race down a winding path with no edges and attempt to get down the farthest or the fastest (depending on mode)... to do that youll be flinging yourself off the edges and aiming for the track below to gain a huge advantage. They balance this by allowing you only 5 seconds off the track, meaning you have to pick your shortcuts carefully.
This game is VERY early access at the time of this review, with online multiplayer and career mode being absent. The modes and local multiplayer it does offer though I do feel justifies the price.
Survival mode is much like the iOS orginal in that you are just trying to get the farthest down the hill, speed isnt a factor. This mode is great for high score challenges with friends.
Racing mode is a new addition, and like the name suggests youre racing down a predetermined length course against ai or local opponets. When online multiplayer is completed I expect this to be the main mode I play.
And time atack mode, which has you going through gates every 10 check points to gain more time to go farther. In my opinion this mode goes against the spirit of the game but it does offer an interesting challenge as the check points get farther and farther away.
All in all its far superior to its iOS counterpart, the controller support alone accomplishes that. A game where you spot your landing like this just doesnt work great when youre tilting your screen around. At 8 bucks I feel like there is enough there right now to justify the purchase, but waiting for updates and a sale may be your best bet if you arent sure from the trailer and this review.
