a childhood classic play this game
the second best game with sonic in a car
I love this game and have been wanting to play it again since I rented it years ago on the 360 but unfortunately it crash constantly and im unable to actually play the game :(
I have both a 360 and ps3. Since the 360's store is down, the only way to play the dlc is through the ps3. However, that version is limited to 720p 30fps, so I also got the PC version for the better resolution and framerate. Unfortunately, this port doesn't have online play or the dlc so it's not completely the definitive version. The first problem I ran into with the game was that it had performance issues and wouldn't hit 60, and I knew my laptop should have been able to handle it. Thankfully, the pc gaming wiki had some fixes and the game ran smoothly after that. After all that work, I tried the first Grand Prix and it crashed at the second track. No matter what I tried it ended up crashing there. From what others had said, the problem happens on newer Nvidia graphic cards and there's not much you can do about it. The game itself is good, but I have to go with the ps3 version until the problem is fixed. Assuming anyone even cares to fix this 15 year old game.
Childhood classic, Still good even now
For a game that is over a decade old, the graphics are pretty nice! It's very nostalgic and the tracks and characters are fun too. This was my all-time favorite as a kid, the all-star moves are really fun and if you like being able to beat up ai with powerful moves on a race track, this games for you. The controls are wonky as they have ever been, but it's part of its charm. Though if you're looking for a sega themed racing game, get transformed instead. This game is fun on it's on though. so it's worth it!

I highly recommend this to gamers who love fast paste speed games, its got lots of classic SEGA Characters like sonic and ai ai, overall peak game 8/10
This game is boring. Unless you speedrun it. Then it is some of the most fun you can possibly have while playing a game.
Sega: We have kart racing at home. The Game.
Its fine. But can't say I'm a fan of the designs of things in here, most of the characters look like they got bought from Wish.
Works and controls okay on steam deck, though did not display native resolution by default and gives keyboard icons for inputs.
I guess if you are really push for a cart racer and have no other consoles this will do but..really even if you just had a deck you could play the better name in this game genre anyway.
I hear transformed is good to but even just of taste of this made me not interested in trying that.
Brings a ton of childhood memories back. The only problems i'm facing is the fps drops and crashes but i guess it's due to my poor laptop so that's on me, however it's an old game so i thought that it would be more optimized for older devices. Great game nonetheless!! (PS: i have disabled shadows and all of the stuff to boost my fps)
Its a nostalgic game that I played and its still as good as I remember it to good.

I loved playing this game as a kid but now as an adult, i just like it. The biggest issue for me personally is that the game is too easy that it can get boring, even on the expert difficulty level. On the positive side, there is fun to be had here that you won't find in transformed such as the various missions, racers and tracks that aren't in transformed, different items, the flashy all star moves, and being able to buy different music for each race track. At full price, I guess it wouldn't hurt but for sure pick it up if it's on sale and if your a Sega fan.

This game should not be slept upon. I would say it competes with Transformed in terms of quality. Definitely try it out!
I'm pretty sure this is an alright-to-good game. This game has not been made for modern computers. You may open the game, crash. You may fix that issue, play the game, get into races, stutters, crash. Fix that issue, play a prix, all going's good, sound cuts and an immensely loud buzzing drones out with no way of stopping. Not only this, but I can't get it to use my correct graphics card without playing it on a different monitor. There's also no online multiplayer in case you wanted to do that.
If you fix everything, then you get this alright Sonic racing game. Some love it, some think it's not worth anything. Point is, I can't recommend it regardless because it should not have this many issues.
This game has a really annoying bug on PC that doesn't affect the console versions where all sound cuts out after a certain amount of time has passed, forcing a restart. Cannot recommend due to that bug alone. The game is pretty fun though; the announcer is really good and energetic, keeps the races exciting. The music taken from other SEGA IPs is really good, lots of bangers, and the gameplay is pretty enjoyable, chaining drifts is especially fun. Good stage variety too.

Is anyone ever gonna port that Metal Sonic DLC to PC? Is that even possible? I know I'm really late to everyone caring about this but it'd be neat.
Good game, by the way. Released in 2010 so set your expectations accordingly, but fun for what it is.

It is a great game for all family, very entertaining, it has some iconic Sega's characters, you can race through all 24 tracks against your friends in the divided screen, the graphics and music are nice.
Certified hood classic. My favourite racer to play as is

I LOVE THIS GAME
It's old, but it a good one still. I'll recommend it to anyone who likes a collection of racing games. Has a mission mode and a Grand Prix mode for content along with information of all characters in the game. And although it wasn't much of a challenge for me (unless you add the achievements in the game but they don't unlock anything), it's nice enough to enjoy clearing stuff. The only issue is finding the right resolution and audio settings when using the configuration program. My suggestion, if you get this game? Don't bother taking Vertical Sync off if you don't want audio issues. Also don't play it for long hours in a row, or it will have rendering issues (Mostly anything involving bridges).
But do keep in mind Sonic & All-Star Racing Transformed offers a bit more. So consider that as well before buying this one as this doesn't have online racing and it won't be long until you finish everything on AAA rank and 1st place podium finish.
Its fun!

This is the greatest karting game of all time, because its got motorcycles in it, Ryo Hazuki just cant be bettered by any karting game ever made, Ryo on a cruiser bike powersliding and accumalating turbo after turbo in chain combos never gets old. It cyphers so perfectly with Shenmue 1 and 2, and if you've got those games you simply should add this game to your library and play it to death after completing Shenmue 70 man battle. Ryo Hazuki is the best character in this game on his motorbike, also theres a Outrun-esque Ferrari as a vehicle in it that is the best car in any karting game ever. I just wish they had motorcycles in the sequels and the red sports car , shame on SEGA for omitting them in the sequels, other than that kudos to SEGA for making the best karting game ever. The sequels are awesome as well but they should've kept the motorcycles for the innovation they provide.
game's very easy and doesn't have all that much going for it, which made me find it extremely boring.

My childhood.
This game still holds up as a solid single player kart racer suprisingly well with the mission mode and several of the missions being fun to figure out how to perfect similiar to the main-line entries of the era. The multiplayer is not Mario Kart, but it is pretty fun with quite well desighned tracks and an interesting take on a boost system
