I love this kina games egen you han reverse time an see yourself doing what you just did. This kinda puzzle games are just so cool, however, I wish the game would be longer and that you could have more clones.
This was a fun game to play, as it explored the rewind game mechanic fully, a mechanic touched on an amount in The Talos Principle. This was a nice light experience that reminded of the first person puzzle games that it was clearly inspired by. The story was a bit lacking, though, in my opinion. Perhaps, this is because I have come to expect so much from such games because of Portal and the above mentioned The Talos Principle. Still, this was pretty darn fun, and, especially at price point, I would say it's worth it for the gameplay.
It's a fun puzzle game, although the game is a bit too short. The puzzles are easy to medium difficulty and the entire game can be finished in 4 hours or less. But they were a lot of fun. There are other puzzle games involving creating your own clone but this also involves a time travel aspect, kinda, that makes it a lot more enjoyable.
The game has a portal-ish feel to it. Just like Portal, your goal in each level is to reach the exit. You need to figure out how to reach the exit level. For that you clone yourself and use the clone to help you get there. But you can't interact with the clone. The clone repeats exactly what you did the first time. The puzzle solving happens in 3 stages. First, you figure out what needs to be done to go through the exit. Then you need to figure out which version of you will do what. Finally, you execute your plan. I love the endorphin rush when my plan works out like it should, sometimes it might need a couple of tries to get things perfect, and I finally reach the exit.
If you like puzzle games I highly recommend it, especially if it's on sale.
I like the time concept using clones to solve puzzles, but the game commits one of the worst sins in my opinion of a puzzle game. The puzzles are reallly easy to solve but really hard to pull off at least for me. Maybe you just need better 3d platforming skills but at least with Portal once you knew the solution the puzzles were easy to pull off.
I've been waiting for this game for a very long time. It's finally done, and it's very good. It's a pure puzzler about rewinding time and cooperating with recorded versions of your past self, which is a mechanic that's been explored before but never in quite this much detail. It's shorter than I'd like, but it's not too short (4 hours for me, which I think is probably pretty fast because I already knew how to do a lot of stuff.) It's pretty hard. I haven't done the time trials yet, but I might. They look interesting.
A word of warning, however: the puzzle solutions in this game require precise execution. I like that, but if you're someone who gets frustrated if you know how to do a puzzle but can't quite get it to work, you're likely to have a bad time.
This game is really fun to play and is based on solving puzzles by making clones of yourself. It has a nice soundtrack, suitably eerie music for its setting and engaging visuals (honestly, I kept jumping along the edges to see more of the world!). The puzzles increase in complexity and the main gameplay style switches half way through to add another layer to the puzzles.
The storyline begins with you waking up in a lab with no knowledge of how you got there. A disembodied voice provides some guidance as you make your way through the facility and dialogue between the two characters helps piece fragmented memories together to explain how you came to be where you are.
There are two outcomes - be sure to find them both!
Mind bending puzzle game using clones to solve stages. It's a lot of fun.
The soundtrack is good, optimization is fairly good. The main gripe i have would be the frame drops when pulling up your arms to summon clones(assuming it has to do with rendering the different scenes), luckily it doesnt effect gameplay since it happens prior to the action beginning.
All in all, it's a very unique game that's very fun. I would highly recomended if you enjoy puzzle games!
Pros:
-Good story
-Interesting concept
-decent graphics
-awkward character animations
Cons:
-Story doesn't have much to do with the game itself
-Boring level design
-Often gets out of sync, which is pretty inexcusable for this type of game
6/10
The whole rewind time and play with your clones is a concept I've seen before though mostly on flash games. This is an ok take on it but doesn't feel like a well playtested game. The puzzles get repetitive and the story segments aren't very interesting. I think it would be better with a more humorous tone like portal rather than taking itself so seriously. Graphics are pretty good for a puzzle game but it failed to really grab me. I might give it another shot if I'm bored. Not quite good enough to recommend. Too bad there's no "meh" button.
This game brings a whole new meaning to the term "playing with yourself"!
But in all seriousness this game brings a fun and interesting new way to think and play into the gaming world. This game really got me thinking about timing and positioning for the future you to progress to the next level/area. Not only are you striving to complete the simple and challenging puzzles, but you're also helping/hindering yourself around each new corner. "Did I move to soon?" As I thought to myself. "Is this where I needed to stand?".
I game handles smoothly, a few graphical/texture bugs but not bad. Animations for the character could use a bit more work, in my opinion. Level design was unique and fluid, although I purposely tried to leave areas and got stuck (my own fault not the games).
Definitely a grab if you would like a fun game that makes you think ahead, albeit a little short for my taste. I'd give it a 8/10!
