haven't played more than a little bit in a couple years but this game is the BOMB for just casually passing time :P
Help the little box find its way to a happier place without hitting a trap or vanishing into nothingness.
Up, down, forward, left, right, and back; move your block until things turn black--literally.
The Good:
- It's a puzzle game where a block can die.
- Guidelines that help to show which way you'll move. It's especially helpful if you're blind.
- OST is haunting ocean sounds with crescendoing synths and arps. At times it sounds like a sad scene in an 80s film or straight up horror.
- New game worlds introduce new gimmicks: ghosts, portals, cloning machines, death blocks, and switches.
- So you think you're some sort of big brain who has a good idea for a level? Then go in the level editor and make it.
- Is the game not challenging enough for you? Test your memory and your visual cortex in blackout mode, where everything goes dark after the first move.
The Neutral:
- 160 levels.
The Bad:
[*]Scrolling through the custom levels. I need to go fast.
Ever played an adventure game that featured a mini-game where you had to maneuver a marble around on a game board by making it hit various blocks before it finally made it into the goal hole? No? Oh. Well, that's sort of what this game is, except it's in a 3D world. There are plenty of levels, a decent amount of challenge, and enough features to make this well worth the $4 price tag.
Weak yes. It's...fine? I kind of like the basic concept, and each set of levels introduces new ideas. It's a little awkward navigating it in 3D sometimes, and if you accidentally hit the wrong button you have to start the entire level over. It was interesting enough to go through all the puzzles in the first few zones, but probably not quite interesting enough that I'll go back and finish the rest.
Simple games have simple fun!
And most importantly,
I'd love to solve puzzles,so,I do enjoy myself into this game!
Plus,
this game has an embedded workshop inside it,actually.
ZeGame is a fantastic 3D logic puzzler with great minimalist presentation, beautiful visuals, solid controls, good ambiance, and an impressive variety of puzzles. There are 8 "worlds" with 20 puzzles each. Each world features a completely different puzzle gimmick, so the puzzles stay fresh throughout. It also features a level editor, a ton of fun user uploaded levels, and a leaderboard.
The negative aspect of the game is that it should not have been billed as exclusively casual/relaxing. While the majority of the puzzles do fall into those categories, as one would expect of earlier puzzles in any game like this, the later levels get punsihing/grueling. Also, while worlds 1 through 7 all have well thought out logic puzzles, most of world 8's puzzles are long trial & error 3D mazes with less of a logical approach. Also, to truly beat the game you have to redo all of the puzzles in "Blind Mode" which lets you look at the puzzle then as you start to move it becomes shrouded in darkness, so you have to analyze it all at once and memorize a solution in your head or write it down. Overall, the fact this game has such hardcore components isn't a bad thing, it's just I was hoping for a more chill experience when I started working on it and felt a little deceived. This eventually passed and I embraced the challenge.
This is a great puzzle game either on sale or at full price. Excellent for keeping your spacial reasoning honed. ZeGame is highly addictive and fun.
This ia a excellent game that deserves to be recognized. If you like puzzles and have money to spare, you should gaet this game. When you finish the main levels, you can play and make custom levels which allows for infinite possibilities.
First time I have thumbed-down a game everyone else loves. I tried to like this game (I like almost all puzzle games) and it says I played for two hours, but oh, it sure felt like longer: I found this game to be crazy boring! I did not find it challenging, as I spent most of my time pulling the screen around, trying to see which line on the grid my ball was in, and the rest of my time was spent going: "okay... I tried up-up-down-right, so this time I'll try up-up-down-left." The only thing I liked on this game was the music.
It is not a bad game, It's just one I did not enjoy. Wish I'd tried to demo first.
Nice puzzle game, even providing you with a level creator and you can play others levels. Worth its price.
If there's a level editor, I'll buy it.
I love this game, even though its super simplistic, i just cant stop playing.
Amazing game, 10/10.
It's a beautifully designed game with levels that aren't always so cut and dry. The music is lovely, the design is well done, and I tend to relax when playing it.
Easy to play, yet very challenging, it requires a lot of thinking ahead, especially the Teleporters, which add an entirely new dimension to the Game.
It's definitely a ton of fun and Id even consider it one of the best if not even the best Indie Game of 2016.
Definitely worth its price!
This game is addicting. But really cool. You are a green block and you have to get to the blue block using the white blocks. A couple of criticisms. The help that shows you the way to go isn't always accurate so you can die alot. And I would love a level selector. So my friends can play when they are on my computer.
Such an amazing game, very cleverly thought through with puzzles blowing your mind. Nice replay values and theoretically endless fun through the level editor.
The only thing I'd probably like to change would be the reset of deaths in a level if you restart it while playing (it just feels a little unneccessary going out of the level completely to play it w/o any deaths).
Still a 10/10 puzzle game.
Amazing game with beautiful graphics, great music, and incredibly creative level design! There are only two things I would change.
Firstly, I would add the option to turn down the ripples graphical effect as this can get quite distracting. Secondly, I would make the teleporter blocks easier to distinguish between because they can get confusing. Maybe adding different shades of the same colour to sets of portals.
Definitely recommended for a (very) thoughtfully designed, graphically impressive and overall great puzzle game!
I must say, I bought this game with a bit of concerns, but it's a blast. I enjoy every moment. Great puzzle game, great graphics, and amazing sounds which adds to the athmosphere.Overall, 4.5/5
Amazeing game, heard Jesper was makeing a game and got excited. When it was released I bought it immediatly and started playing. This game has a lot of intersesting mechanics that are easy to learn and simple to use.
Grat puzzle game. Music and the idea is great. Worth a buy for a $5 and if your looking for a relaxing puzzle game.
Game is very fun, The learning curve is great. Only complaint is that the teleporters are indistinguishable to tell where you are going.
Great concept, amazing execution.
ZeGame is everything you'd want from a minimalistic puzzle game. Strong design, intuitive controls, smooth gameplay, surreal soundtrack, you name it. The puzzle difficulty is *just right*, so that you can play for hours on end without getting bored.
I absolutely love the smoothness of the game's controls, and how easy it is to move around (once you get the hang of it). The backgrounds and audio are very relaxing, inviting you to move at your own pace. The design of the blocks is another plus, carrying just enough detail to look unique, yet not enough to ruin the minimalistic style.
If you like simple, intuitive, or innovative games, I'd strongly recomming trying out ZeGame.
It is a fun, but can be challenging game. The first world seems easy enough, then it starts getting drastically more difficult. It is a nice 3D challenge.
