really disappointing to see mad out big city online closed and then buying the 7 dollar one and seeing its nothing like the real one. no guns, no police, no skin custimizing, and no missions the closed one had all of that please llet us play the closed version
this was the first steam game i bought and it was terrible. i remember half the map missing
I don't know why the f I have this many hours in this game but it's alright I guess? For a kid it's great but there are so many more games out there worth the time. Again no clue how I have this many hours in this game.
The thing is I remember playing this game for a long time when I was a kid so maybe that's why but yea, weird.
MadOut Open City is one of those open-world style games in which you can do crimes or mission, or just drive about a bit. It is also one of those games that is soooo bad that it goes out the other end of itself and becomes good! ITs not so much the graphics as by now we VR users have gotten used to basic low-poly graphics, nor the pop-up which is so bad its laughable. What else is terrible is the VR implementation, it’s not only nausea-inducing, but it is also hard to see out of the cars while driving! But yet, I still managed to play for hours doing the battle races and just driving about, it was cheap, crap, thrills and I loved it. Don’t get me wrongs, its still a potato of a game, but sometimes even a potato can be made exciting.

So much wasted potential here. So this game could definitely be a very good game, but I just can't recommend it because it's pretty horrible overall. Don't get me wrong, it's laughably bad and if you can ignore all the game's issues, it can be nice arcade fun. It just has too many problems.
The first problem is that I was getting maybe 45 frames per second most of the time. I only got 90 frames when I was the only car on the roadway. I even dropped graphical options to medium for everything and only had it projecting on my VR headset (no mirror on desktop). Did not really help at all. Severe frame drops and pop-in graphical issues and artifacts.
The AI vehicles on the roadway acted strangely. They would randomly crash for no apparent reason. They would go off the roadway for no apparent reason. I went all over the map and tried some races. I only got one to work. The other race was bugged. I didn't see any story. I didn't see any missions. Just basically drive to the nearest icon so you can race. I only saw timed race and battle race. The timed race did not work for me.
There was no way to reset my position in the car. Driving in first person was just too difficult to see so it's much better to drive in 3rd person. The driving is arcade fun ... when it works. The problem is that it rarely works. You just basically go up to any vehicle and press Y to steal it. That's really the only similarity to GTA. GTA was never this bad on its worst day. GTA Vice city looks nicer than this game.
I mean if you want a laugh, this game may be worth $3.19 sale price. But only if you have $3.19 to waste for that laugh at this train wreck with some moments of fun.

this is crap, nothing like the videos or ads, sensitibity level over 9000( not changable ), no idea how to fight. this game gets a 1/10 DO NOT PLAY
I can't really recommend this at it's current state. It has some potential and a few details that I liked. But otherwise it needs a lot of work as a whole.
Do not get this game. It gives you a limited amount of money with no way to earn it back, there are no weapons or cops, the traffic sucks, and the graphics suck too. Dont get this
the story was good but horrible to play with very bad controls and constant lag i have a gtx 1050 ti 4gb so its not my card that is lagging the game and ive also got 32gb of ram so im pretty sure it was just the game but overall if you cant afford gta then its a ok alternate option if you dont mind a bit of lag.

This game is terrible. it can be a bit funny at SOME moments, but overall it is over hyped and is nothing like the ads. It has bad graphics and feels incredibly outdated (it is). It is almost FUNNY how the GAME WANTS real MICRO-TRANSACTIONS for stupid things like resetting cars, spawning cars, and changing your character. I have heard numerous people say this game is funny and that it has potential, however, it is too late to save this game as it is already pretty much ruined and the only funny thing is that the developers expect you to pay money for this atrocity. Also, people like saying that since it is a game made by a small team, people shouldn't go hard on it. However, since the game costs real money it is automatically comparable to games of similar price, which are far better. DO NOT BUY!! STUPIDEST THING I'VE DONE IS BUY MADOUT GAMES!
I thought this game was good but no. What did I get. Just a ragdolls assaulting cars. I rate this game -4/10
This game is absolutly awful, I've played some terrible games in my life (been a gamer for 33 yrs). But I think this one takes the cake & a pie to lol.
I refunded it after 5 mins of play, I just couldn't take the torture anymore.
I believe the screen shots was enhanced with photoshop.
The graphics look about like 2007ish, nothing like those screen shots at max settings.
The character runs/walks like he took a big dump in his pants.
The game plays, sounds and looks like a game in mid alpha stage.
Believe those negative reviews, I didn't, so I had to waste my time getting a refund, which I'll add was easy. That was indeed the best part of this game, getting my money back.
Anyone who says this is a good game, either they are DEV shills or never played many games in their lives. That is just all there is to it. You've been warned.
Dont even buy this BS its outrageous how Steam allows games that have broken features be sold here what has happened to this platform?! The split screen of this game isn't even functioning so this is super false advertising. Fix the split screen!
I dont like to not reccomend games and this is the first time ive done it but this is just a really bad game $7.99 spent for no reson on the backround it shows a guy with a shovel in his hand and there is no wepons please dont buy this i didnt want to spread hate but this is :(
Please save yourself from the overhyped pictures, the overhyped video, and the terrible price.
The game has terrible car physics, terrible ways to get money, a bad map, bad animation, and last but not least, this game is pay to win.
This game is like a failed abortion; It survived, but nobody likes that it survived.
This Game trys so hard to be GTA5 With CRAPPY physiscs. the driving is very bad the wepons are terable.you have to pay money to just fall thats highway robbery right there not to mensune the game is 8 dollars i mean its better than when it first came out it was 20 oh and u can get it on ur phone for free......

Took me a bloody long time to decide whether pick "recommend" on Steam or not. At this current beta stands I really like it's unique idea/gameplay style, but hate the bugs and flaws at same time. It's a lot better once you get past the confusing start at the beginning though. Well at least i can guarantee this is way better than a certain explosive FlatOut 3 ...... and the car physics has potential (as long as it won't go for drifitng crap like the latest NFSs)
I've concluded myself that this is the type of game which worths throwing in money for supporting if you ain't too poor. The arcade racing genre is dying and proper unique stuff such as this needs to be developed to keep the genre alive.
Nice concept, but everything about this game sucks at the moment. It has potential though. Keep working on it.
Did I finish the game? I can now choose whatever race I want to and every time I need to restart the game -_-

Money being useful(Purchasing maybe a new house?)-Added :D

Cars having names so they are more recognizable

I give this game 4 Stars.
While a very lacking beta, it is a very fun beta. It has some pretty sweet destruction physics and a fun concept, this game has a lot of potential, with the inclusion of an arsenal of weaponry, more cars, more customisation, and soft body physics or harsher destruction (the ability to bend, crush, and destroy parts of the car as well as the whole car.) this game could be a whole lot better, and while not finished, as stated before, it is a very fun game for an early access title.
My suggestions:
- Soft body physics / harsher destruction
- Vehicular upgrades, visual and performance
- Cleaner menus and UI
- Ability to change the resolution of the game
- Other stores as well as interactions (People, etc.)
- More vehicles overall
- Weapons for your character
- Possible character customisation
Overall, I recommend this game, but for a later date, add it to your wishlist and keep an eye on it. If you're feeling generous or experimental, send the devs some support by purchasing this game like myself! The past MadOut games are a few hours of fun and well made whereas this has a LOT more potential, especially with more features to come.
