DO NOT BUY. Have you ever been new to a shooter that has team killing in it? Have you ever accidentally killed a few allies by mistake in a game with servers over 300 players as a new player? Well I got news for you. There is only one active server in this game. It typically has 180-280ish players on it. If you team killed 3 people in say, a two hour time span, you will be banned from the only active server for 6 hours and not longer able to play the game for the rest of the day. If you do it again, it doubles the time banned. STAY AWAY!

I wanted to like this game and gave it several chances, but I can't recommend it. My main problem is you spend most of the time not doing anything. You fire one volley, then everyone run away while you are reloading. It makes me just want to tk the company commander and leave. The moral system just gets in the way of playing the game. The second a melee breaks out, your screen is black and white and the teamkills begin.

The game has great potential, the actual game concept is fun and immersive. Sadly, the player base is not quite large enough, every time I play there is the same weirdo in-game RPing while shouting southern slurs.

There is one server that everyone joins, with even that server being left half-full most of the time. Would I pay 24,99 again? Probably not. This time it's a thumbs down...

- Unmatched atmosphere. Lighting, sounds and smoke are flawless.
- Great multiplayer experience. Under the right guide, a company can be lethal.
- Potential endless replayability.
- Hilarious voice chat moments with people spamming the Imperial March during a deployment.

- Very few players nowadays, it's a niche title
- Blatant racism is part of the CSA gameplay
- Slow on updates

Fun game but completely abandoned by the incompetent devs. Terrible performance and awkward controls.

This is just another FPS running simulator. You run for 95% of the game, get there, get shot, rinse and repeat. This game offers nothing new or really that interesting. The combat is designed to be done with the bayonet but the combat is so unrealistic and the character movements are extremely slow. it really just boils down to whoever clicked first. I cant be the only one who is tired of these half ass games. There are only a handful of servers, so if you happen to get banned for accidental TK or whatever arbitrary reason the mod decides, you are done playing. There is ONE server that has a reasonable amount of players. Your $40.00 experience is at the whims of a discord mod.

Really fun once, you get into it. Just need some good players to help you get started. Listen to your officers too!

Great and hilarious game! Accurate battles and kinda has a Hell let loose vibe. Ragdolls are good as well.

Looks good, the chat is quite funny ('slightly' racist Americans dropping the N word liberally but that's no shocker) but it's a bit slow and boring most of the time. Still have absolutely no idea if I've ever killed anyone in the game. Still recommending though if you're looking for a fast paced shooter, this most definately isn't it

Awesome game with a dedicated community! Officers will help newcomers and everyone is their to joke around and have fun. Would recommend to anyone who is a civil war geek, or just has an interest in the game! BUY TODAY!

I love 85% of this game. It does get slightly clunky when climbing over fences and such, and I am always deeply annoyed that you do not spawn into battle with a loaded rifle. There is no reason why you should need to reload immediately upon spawning, especially midway and later throughout the match when you are likely to get shot quickly. If you are looking for a game with a kill/death count, look elsewhere. There is a slight learning curve, but you will figure it out quickly. I hope they keep developing this as it could really be something great if expanded upon.

dead game. 1 server. Not fun cant do anything unless your regiment decides to do it. so in my limited play time we moved our line left right left but never did anything. Boring not worth 30 bucks stay away unless they can come up with more servers .

The game is pretty well done, but the realism is too much, the gameplay is unbearable after an hour, there should be some compromise between realism and fun. The 90% of gameplay is pure walking, reloading and fixing bayonet. The community is good, makes it much more fun to play, but still doesnt safe the horrendously boring gameplay. Also Im sure trained soldiers in war for independence could hold weapons somewhat still for more than 2 seconds.

Dear Mother, the men learn very quickly; faster than white troops, it seems to me. They are almost grave and sedate under instruction and they restrain themselves. But the moment they are dismissed from drill, every tongue is relaxed and every ivory tooth is visible and you would not know from the sound of it that this is an army camp. They must have learned this from long hours of meaningless, inhuman work to set their minds free so quickly. It gives them great energy. And there is no doubt we will leave this state as fine a regiment as any that as marched. As ever, your son, Robert.

This game is unlike anything I've ever played before. It can be both incredibly atmospheric and hilarious at the same time. Imagine charging down an 1862 cornfield with bayonets fixed while your NCO's are screaming at you to keep pressing forward, the guy next to you is blasting Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd over his voice channel and then screaming profanities at your opponents while you engage them in melee combat.

10/10 would charge again.

The game is a lot of fun when you play in a big server with people who care about the game. My favourite things to do in War of Rights is to charge, fire in a line all at once, and march.
The stuff I don't like is artillery, trolls, and some other stuff I probably forgot about. There's definitely more good qualities rather than bad in this game, which is why you should buy it.

It's a lot more fun and adrenaline pumping than you'd expect.

just joined my first 2 games and its super slow, got little kids as an officer. love the idea thats why i got it but it takes 15 seconds to reload and movement is slow as heck.

It is a fun game. That's it , it is a game. As long as you approach it that way and don't take it so seriously , you can have fun with it.

Game is fun, small fanbase. kept alive by regiments[JOIN THE 5TH MINNESOTA!]. needs official matches hosted by campfire games.

Very cinematic. May take a little bit of time to learn controls but its worth it.

I have about 2 hours on here. So far, its fun. It's not a run around solo and slay girl slayyyy type of game. You have to work as a unit and follow orders. Its fun. BUT the cannons, i have not been able to use a cannon once. Devs please, please, help new players figure out how to select the soldier or whatever for the cannons. Seems like they are always, always gate kept. Let me have a chance to miss maaaaaan

That's it for me, what a waste of a purchase, this game has gone way downhill the past six months. Just got banned by server admins for no reason whatsoever. Honestly, if you like a community that absolutely craps on it's fans then this is the place for you. Literally most if not all of the admins will ban or kick you without conclusive evidence. Admins used to be held accountable, now they just do what they want and play map rotations they wanna play despite the whole server asking for a different rotation. Oh and don't forget if your mic is broken and you didn't type anything in chat you can still get banned :).

I've had this game for a year and the experiences are utterly incomparable to what it was before I quit playing. To the MODs/Admins fix yourselves, your game is dying because of you. You don't need to control every human being in the server let alone just ban random people. To the devs from a business standpoint I would highly advise you to keep the MODs/Admins in check. It's disgusting the amount of favoritism shown in this game. Admins will literally ignore racist comments from friends and ban others for doing it, which shouldn't be happening.

To finalize my thoughts on this game, the game play itself is not an issue, it's just the community. The community is drowning this game and running it into the ground. It's basically if you don't agree with how I feel or do what I say and I have power over you I'm gonna ban or TK you. It is unreal how bad this community is. There is so obviously an inner circle that's virtually a cancer eating a way at this community.


Update: I tried to appeal my ban and the admins with zero proof told me they didn't believe me and then began to make smart ass remarks towards me. How is this in anyway acceptable. They tried forcing me to tell them that I said it when I didn't. And when I told them no I'm not telling you I said that because guess what shit for brains I didn't say it. And then furthermore they began to make fun of officers in public matches.

Didn't do it mics broken, would've owned up to it had I done it. I wouldn't have made this big a deal about it had I done it. I was in a large company in a big crowd so very well coulda been someone else. Forcing someone to try and own up to something they didn't do is fucking vile, and I don't disagree with you agrippa. But, the fact of the matter is I got screwed by whoever banned me without any context or any reasoning as to why I was banned. And when I told you this you guys virtually told me my side of the story is shit and does not matter. and it's not a few hours either, 6 hours is a lot of time when you work almost everyday of the week. I do not care if you bash me publicly. People buying this shit need to know the fuckery they are getting themselves into. They need to know that they can just get banned without doing anything. I'm not the first to complain about this and obviously, because you guys suck as mods I won't be the last. I've told you a thousand fucking times that my mic is broken, and was just ignored.

I really wish I could recommend this game, it has so many great features and for the most part, a good community.

Unfortunately it is ruined by regiments, childish and toxic individuals who will do anything to ensure that they have the best outcome.

A number of admins are also biased/corrupt and will overlook certain instances of rule breaking based on regiment membership and personal opinions.

This game also has a downvote system which is completely flawed, it is easily and frequently abused by these exact regiments and trolls to ensure that people they have personal issues with cannot play.

The way the system works is that everyone on the team can downvote whoever they want for whatever reason, and accumulating a certain amount of said downvotes leads to you being unable to play any role besides rifleman, essentially blocking you from 2/3 of the gameplay experience. New players are easily mislead by people to mass downvote individuals.

If you enjoy the civil war and slow, tactical gameplay I would say give it a try, but dont get involved too much with the community and DO NOT join a regiment. I just cannot recommend it without first giving my opinion on the small but extremely detrimental parts of the community.

If the devs actually pay attention to this and work to fix these flaws (addition of upvote system/removal of downvote system/improving moderation) i would gladly change my review, but this is how it will remain for now.

GRAPHICS- 9/10 close enough to the real thing for me.
SOUND- 10/10 eargasmic volley fire, as if 1000 firecrackers busted a nut in my ear then left me with tinnitus.
ATMOSPHERE- 10/10 I've literally never been more immersed in a game than when I'm playing this one it feels so locked into its own time period that I start up talking like a crazed yokel lol.
PLAYER NUMBERS ARE LOW- 6/10 best way to experience this game's PvP is to join a relatively chill Regiment through the game's discord

-This game is good if you like dying in a line with a buncha screaming men and constantly getting bad COs on public servers lol honestly this game needs to keep its Halloween PvE mode as a permanent game mode as it would allow for players to take a break from the PvP for a bit instead of taking a break from the game entirely. I know I'd be clocking a lot more hours on this game if the PvE was always available to me. also if you're one of those players that thinks the VIDEO GAME needs to be as realistic as possible for reenactment or simulation purposes and the PvE will ruin the point of the game; I whole heartily disagree with your selfish play style and think by having a larger variety of player choice will result in an increase in player numbers and play time. 8/10
