Indivisible is an action RPG platformer featuring stunning hand drawn art and animation combined with unique real-time combat mechanics.
Immerse yourself in a fantastical world with dozens of playable characters, a rich storytelling experience, gameplay that’s easy to learn but difficult to master, and the trademark razor-sharp quality that Lab Zero Games is known for!
Our story revolves around Ajna, a fearless girl with a rebellious streak. Raised by her father on the outskirts of their rural town, her life is thrown into chaos when her home is attacked, and a mysterious power awakens within her.
The game’s huge fantasy world, characters and aesthetic design are inspired by various cultures and mythologies. Throughout Ajna’s quest she’ll encounter many “Incarnations”: people whom she can absorb and manifest to fight alongside her.
There are many Incarnations to recruit, each with their own story and personality. By uniting people from faraway lands, Ajna will learn about herself, the world she inhabits, and most importantly, how to save it.

Probably one of the most entertaining games I have ever played, this game has everything my ADHD monkey brain needs.
beautiful game
Ajna is a 16-years old tomboy from a peaceful mountain village mountain village of Ashwat, whose sole worry in life stems from her strict father who is never satisfied with her progress in martial arts training and also keeps a lot of secrets. Like, where is he from, how old if he, or did how Ajna's mother die. That is until her village is attacked by army of warlord Ravannavar, lead by his laurietant Dhar, who kills her father. When trying get her revenge, Ajna somehow...draws Dhar inside her Inner World, a whole dimension in her brain. She sets off on a quest to kill Ravannavar, while Dhar, being able to only come out to aid her in a fight, is forced to tag along.
Indivisible is an ambitious combination of a metroidvania style platformer, a jrpg and a fighting game. You move in a metroidvania enviroment, doing typical platforming things, but whenever you struck an opponent, a whole slew of companions will jump out of Ajna's head and take you to a combat where every companion is assigned a button and your goal is to time speciffic comboes to accomplish desired effect on the battlefield.
I wanted to like this game. It is absolutely gorgerous, giving a vibe not just a classic jRPG but outright a Ghibli movie. The setting, as much as I have seen it, is inspired by India, a very underexplored area in video games. A cast of charming characters (I especially came to like snarky, tired pyromaniac shamaness Razmi). A lovely music.
Unfortunatelly, the gameplay turned out to be a failed experiment. At least in my personal experience, as it seems the game managed to somehow combine my least favorite aspects of the genres I usually enjoy. Platforming that, the longer it goes, the more requires standing exactly where you're supposed to, pressing exact button at the exact same time. Combat that requires you to be both tactical and quick with combos, to the point of feeling both mentally taxing and nonsensically chaotic. I was never good at comboes, timing and button mashing in fighting games, I enjoy them for corolful cast of characters and their personal journeys (and music), even if I have to brute-force my way through the story by cheesing the enemies. But in Indivisible it is impossible because the game has a very jrpg approach that requires you to master its systems if you want to be able to form effective strategies and not be overwhelmed. Except here the systems are integrated with buttonmashing, timing and combos. This game went from fun to my personal hell almost as fast as its plot. Yeah, let's talk about that.
I am willing to admit my problems with the mechanics could be a skill issue and there are people who will master the same things easily. I was considering to not give a rating due to that. However, I also know my storytelling and it became increasingly apparent to me that this game literally buldoges through otherwise an enjoyable, if a bit cliched, high fantasy jrpg story. The first paragraph of this review describes a story beat that takes place within a timeframe of roughly 30 minutes. I immediatelly had to draw comparisons with a different game, whsoe demo I recently tried, Ys X: Nordics, which also begins in an idillic village that ineavitably gets raided by forces of the villain, leaving hero and an unlikely companion forced to pursue said villain. The difference is that Nordics spends a lot of time to make the player enjoy that village and develop attachments to its citizens. It knows it uses a cliche, so it indulges in it to maximalize desired effect. Once the predictable attack happens, I actually cared, which I cannot say for Indivisible. And sadly, with how many characters the player can recruit, how it brushes through things like explaining Ravannavar's motivations, it became clear to me the game cannot possibly deliver on its own storytelling promises.
It is hard to bash a game with so much ambition and so many elements I enjoyed. As I have said, there may be people who will be able to look past my problems and they will find a lovely game. I, however, bounced off it hard, leaving me severely disappointed.
The art is beautiful, the characters are interesting, the worldbuilding is amazing and the story well written. One of those fantasy stories that truly captivate the mind.
And there is the gameplay. The platforming had some really good mechanics but it felt like the game's focus was more on the combat system. The combat is not exactly bad or un-fun, but basically mash buttons and win covers it all. Well yea there are interesting concepts in combat skills too, and probably skilled buttonmashing makes you win quicker, but why bother?
If this game was a better polished platformer or just made into an animated series it would have been perfect. Still it definitely was a very enjoyable experience.
I definitely got addicted to this game. Especially the combat. It was very interesting to have a turn based rpg but the turns are constantly moving so if you don't decide quick enough on your moves then the enemy will attack before you. The platforming and world exploration is very fun to do and the freedom to explore is definitely a great aspect of this game. Despite certain locations and areas being locked out because you don't have the specific move to get through them. It is also great that it has the concept of choice on where to go first while the story remains linear it is great that you can choose to do the side missions first before doing the main quest. However, there was one part that I find disappointing. Which happens during the middle section of the game where you are told to finish things up before you go to an important area for your main quest. But turns out you had to go there anyway because you won't be able to fix or finish things up until later on. Which was very unclear on the games dialogue and story direction that it just waited time for me, Coz spent a good few hours trying to find where to go and how to fix those cities. Eventually giving up and looking at a Walk through only to find out that. You weren't supposed to be told that not until later where you get the chance to fix things. But over all such a fun game and very interesting story. And the platforming got better as you got all your moves. I just wish the new game+ had more content to give like dialogue changes, maybe a new map, more characters. Anything that make it feel like worth playing a 2nd time.
Alright after 100%, I wanted to give a few thoughts on the game.
STORY: while a little generic at times, i don't think its the worst or really that bad enough to complain too much about it. Not the most interesting or compelling of stories either though. The main character i didn't like that much, even with the angle i knew they were taking her mid/end of the story. Especially near the end where she TALKS a lot about how shes changed. Definitely could have used a little more subtlety in that aspect of her story/ character. Dialogue can be kinda cringy at times but i guess some of that is subjective in terms of the comedic aspects. MUSIC: Its alright. Nothing really noteworthy here really. Its not bad by any means, but none of it really stands out that much to me personally.
GAMEPLAY: Alright now this is where things get a little more interesting. I know the combat aspect is kinda mixed on a lot of people I've seen talk about it, but i still enjoyed it. It goes for a hybrid fighting game combat with juggles, launchers, combos, and blocking. While i do think it is fun, the difficulty is pretty easy throughout most of the game. Even if you don't know combos, you can still make it through the game without having any knowledge of how to do optimal combos. Also i don't like that there is basically no punishment on dying in battle. If you die in any battle, small or bosses, you will start right back in front of the enemy at full health allowing you to do the battle over again. This basically means that death has no punishment and the game ends up being pretty damn easy for the most part. Now the other half of the gameplay that I've heard people complain about is the platforming aspect of the game. Now while i do think that this aspect is a little over hated, there are times that it can feel frustrating. It just wasn't that bad for me i guess. its not really that fun, but it wasn't horrible for my experience. The backtracking can get pretty damn grueling at times when you don't have the fast travel from save bells that you get near the end of the game. So i would say hold off on doing resolution quests until after you get that upgrade. it will save you a lot of time.
GRAPHICS: This is easily the best part of the game, the attention to detail in every one of the playable characters, npcs, enemies, bosses, and environments all look amazing and animate beautifully. The artstyle is very appealing and colorful on the characters and backgrounds. The animated cutscenes are pretty damn good too when you do see them.
OVERALL: While i do wish the story aspect was more interesting, and the combat could have been a little more challenging. I still think the game is pretty good for what it is. There is a good amount of content for what the game offers. Along with the amazing artstyle and animation that brings the world and characters to life. This game has a lot of great aspects to it, but there are things about it that keep me from loving it. Having said that, i still enjoyed my time with this game. Maybe a little over hated from what I've heard from other reviews. For a final score, i'd give this game a 7/10.
Generic story, inconsistent dialogue, flat characters, and bad game design. At least the art style's pretty, I guess. And the setting's not bad.
Drawn in by the visuals, put the game down after seeing the first battle. Seriously what the fuck is the combat system. zzzz
The game is literally unfinished and the studio was usurped. Purchasing this game means rewarding one dickbag who ruined everything.
As for the game itself, the platforming gets really old really fast. Controls are so poor that I continually end up using a different traversal move than the one I input with no particular explanation as to why. The combat system makes random encounters a repeated slog, especially without the freedom to just run from battles.
worst story pacing I've ever seen in a game
A tear rolled down my leg
Idk it's got PIZZAZZ!
9/10, kinda clunky sometimes.
sometimes a game is announced and it just grabs you. everything is in the right place for it to be something to remember, you wait such a long time for it to finally come out, expecting a modern classic. years of anticipation, following the kickstarter, i even got it day 1. and then it was just alright. some games are good, some are bad, but some are just alright. i could list the pros, like the fun worldbuilding, the insane character designs on display, fantastic artwork, and really fun combat. i could list the cons, like the missing content from the kickstarter, the lack of any support after it's release, the monotonous platforming. but overall this game just feels alright. and that hurts as excited as i was for this game when it was in development. i should say, if you enjoy metroidvanias, platformers, weird rpgs, or this artstyle grabs you in any way, this game is worth it, on sale at least. I'd say this game is a very solid 8 out of 10, and that's a great score. but i can't help but wanting it to be a 10 out of 10.
It has some rough edges, but it's full of charm and there was obviously a lot of love put into this game. Definitely worth checking out if only for the art and and to experience the creativity put into it. However, thankfully, yes it can be a lot of fun at times too. (The first ~8 hours or so are fantastic, after that it can get a little repetitive... especially if you're a completionist going for all the sidequests).
The platforming is pretty tight, and comes with a bunch of satisfying abilities; and the way it seamlessly transitions to its own unique brand of fighting game from the platforming is truly awesome.
It's a nice game, in the beginning it is a little slow, the story is simple, easy to track, gameplay is fun (as fun as an platform could go).
I am recommending if you like platform type of games
Im sure its a good game but the controls are truly awful with keyboard and even if you rebind them, nothing really makes sense for it to be a good keybind. You also cannot rebind the movement keys, only the attack and interaction keys, so you cannot change it from the arrow keys, to WASD for movement if you wish.
I then naturally tried it with a controller and i dont know whether it was just me, or what, but again the controls were awful there too. If you happen to press the stick up to the top left position, the character LOOKS UP at that, and does not run to the left like i would expect. The controls are very specific, you have to have it exactly to the left, exactly. This isn't exactly a very good control scheme.
So, I played most of this game on Xbox already and just recently got a gaming laptop.
so I wanted to Pay the rest on PC but every time try to play. all the character sprites are invisible.
like I'm not joking all of there sprites invisible. i'ts so freaking odd.
Please help, what am I supposed to do? I've re-download the game twice!
I don't know what to do I'm stuck.
I really hope there's a fix for it.
Great game. Weird bug.
beautiful game
interesting gameplay
phenomenal voice acting
miserable dev cycle
only buy this game on heavy discount
the owner of the game fired everyone sort after the game launched
he doesnt deserve income for what he did to his team
Fun game but these boss fights are B.S.
I love Razmi so much as a character, but for a party member she sucks. this is mega sadge
Robot can't be used outside of the intro 0/10
I wanted to like this game - the style, the characters, the awesome anime intro. All great. HOWEVER the absolutely infuriating awful platforming controls and "metroidvania" style exploration killed any initial enjoyment pretty quick. The absolute deal breaker however was the *mild spoiler" platforming section after fighting a transformed villian. Having gone through a cutscene, two (somewhat) lengthy fights and chunks of said infuriating platforming sections - i died. Yet the game having been pretty generous with checkpoints thus far, for reasons I can't fathom, they decided it would be a good idea to put you all the way back to the pre-cutscene moment of the whole section. Hell no. I'd had enough by this point and I'd only been playing the game a couple hours. Don't waste your time or money unless you like the unforgiving, pixel perfect platforming days of old.
Great animation, music, voice acting, and environments. Platforming feels good and has a unique twist on typical turn based RPG style combat!
I bought this game because it was on my wishlist for a while and was 85% off.
I ended up spending 20.5 hours straight playing it, pulling my first all nighter in months,
is this game worth the 3$ I paid? no, its worth 10x that, the story, the uniqueness of not only the characters but the combat system too, the only thing that was a bit difficult was some of the platforming, but aside from that, 10/10.
Plus Zone-Tan makes a cameo in it as a background character (like halfway up in tai krung) you can talk to, that probably made me wake my neighbors up laughing.
This game is fun and different from a modern RT Action RPG. I love the animation and the voice acting is cheesy but it puts a smile on my face because the lines are funny. At first I didn't get the whole blocking mechanics but once you get the hang of it. The game gets a little easier but challenging along the way.
.
first off: do NOT buy this game at full price. as much as i love it, it's definitely not worth 50 whole smackaroos. if you're interested, wait for a sale!
indivisible is, despite its many issues, one of my favorite gaming experiences. it's fun, charming, and interesting, but it does have a number of things keeping it from being as good as it could be. i don't know a whole lot about what happened with lab zero's dissolution or if any of that affected the development of the main game, but the game definitely could've used a bit more time in the cooker.
it's not a super short game, my most recent playthrough took me about 18 hours, but it's also not jam packed full of extra content.
most of my praise would have to go to the art (in the middle of writing this i stopped to just stare at art on the wiki for a while. it's very poggers). the art direction is incredible, taking inspiration from all sorts of cultures and repurposing them in a fun fantasy way, the character animations are fluid and full of personality, and the character designs are all quite unique and charming. the main antagonist's design is sick as hell and probably one of my favorite character designs in any game! on the other hand, the game's CGs are a bit lacking in many places, feeling a lot more like placeholder, especially towards the end, and certain parts of the map don't mesh all that well with the art style.
the writing is, in my opinion, very engaging! i enjoyed the story a lot, and the characters are all quite lovable. it's one of the few stories in games that had me tearing up by the end. it's good at getting you attached to the characters as they grow! it does have its flaws, though, there definitely are some elements here and there that would have been nice to see more of. for example, the main character's dad has a mysterious past that gives him a unique role in the story, but that is unfortunately not explored at all. we know the what, but none of the how or why. the non-story npcs are also a big issue for me. i assume most of them are backer characters, because 9 times out of 10 i talk to an npc and they just feel either super out of place or like a reference that i don't get, which makes it hard to feel immersed in the world. in that sense, the cast feels pretty isolated outside of the story npcs.
the gameplay, while not perfect, is enjoyable enough for me. it's a combat based rpg and exploration platformer with a lil bit of a metroidvania kick, and it does most of that pretty well.
the combat is definitely one of the more unique rpg combat systems i've seen, but quite fun! it's not properly turn based, and your characters all have a number of actions they can perform using button combos, and these actions regenerate when you aren't attacking or being attacked. the enemies take their 'turn' during the downtime between your actions, which are replaced with blocking until the enemies are done. you also have a special bar that fills up when you attack and block which you can use to perform special moves unique to each character. there are about 20 or so different characters that you can choose for a team of 4 (although 1 is always the main character), and they each function completely uniquely. they aren't very balanced, however. i played most of the game with the same few characters, because the game doesn't really encourage you to switch them out. i have the healer that you get at the beginning of the game, the attack/debuff mage you get at the beginning of the game, and the high damage dealer, who you also get at the beginning of the game. while there are a lot of unique and fun gimmicks from other characters later on, there isn't a lot of incentive to use them (and some of them are bad or just too niche to be viable), but it is still fun to try them out.
the platforming seems to be a lot of people's biggest issue, which is understandable. it's definitely the clunkiest aspect of the game. you start off with a very simple moveset, classic platformer stuff, but you unlock more, stranger movement techniques along the way. the first is what could probably be equated to this game's double jump. after you jump, you can attack to lodge your axe into a wall, then release it to leap a bit higher. this isn't terrible in theory, but it's very slow in practice. the movement doesn't really pick up until the end of the game, where you have the axe, a spear that lets you get more height on your first jump, an omnidirectional dash, and a second completely different dash, which cover for each other's weaknesses that are otherwise a lot more apparent. it isn't unbearable, but it definitely has a few poorly designed segments that bring out its weaknesses a lot.
the sound design is relatively weak, but i'm particularly peeved by the fact that they reused the same clip of the mc yelling for 1. every time you sprint 2. every time you use your second dash and 3. every time you use your slam. that isn't important, it's just a bit annoying. however, the voice acting is definitely a highlight for me. all the dialogue in the main story is voiced, and by a very fitting and talented cast.
all in all, it's a very messy game, but the art, story, and combat make it quite fun! if you're even a bit interested, i'd absolutely recommend it. it may not have realized all of its potential, but there's enough of it there to make an enjoyable experience.

Boring story
This game is gorgeous and there is clearly a lot of heart in it. The animation, character design, environmental design, music? All of it is great. Which is why the shallow gameplay is disappointing. Being a big fan of Skullgirls, I was expecting a fighting game meets classic RPG (which I still think has a lot of potential), but it's more just a classic RPG with some surface level fighting game mechanics painted on. This would only be a bit of an issue if encounters weren't completely trivial. I never felt like I was in danger of actually losing. On the flipside, traversing the environment feels good and the mobility options you get are a lot of fun, but unfortunately things are way too far apart, with a lot of it just being long hallways.
So if all that is the negatives, why is this still recommended? Again, the game is just that gorgeous.
I really wanted to like this game but everything outside of the core gameplay is just lacking. The soundtrack, voice lines and especially the writing are honestly just boring to me. So much so that I no longer wanted to keep playing.
Now that I think of it, even the exploration/platforming was getting uninteresting pretty quick after getting used to the level design.
This game was on my wishlist for so long the company went into ruins before I even played it.
When I actually played it I was hit with good platforming and music versus really bad story telling and repepetive fighting sequences. I know that this is an RPG game and it is supposed to be long as RPG's are but even the less than 20 hours I played felt like an eternity.
While the main character has an amazing design and voice acting she has the worst personality I've ever seen and it made her a lot less compelling to play as. Even with 20+ other characters in the game I didn't find many reasons to change out of my usual four until one of them is removed from your party due to *spoiler*.
Unless this game is in a huge discount, I can't recommend buying or playing it.
