Leviathan: the Cargo — это action adventure игра-сериал в антураже мира Левиафан, знакомого многим по предыдущему проекту, Leviathan: the Last Day of the Decade. Это не просто продолжение, а новая, большая история о человеческих страхах, страстях, искуплении и счастье.

Sad Discontinuation of a Great Visual Novel
As the title say, first and foremost this visual novel is discontinued because (as sources tell) of the disagreements between the developers. It's quite disappointing just because of that fact since I was ready to pay the decided price for the whole thing which is $30 as stated in their tumblr because the first prequel was great. This VN is short and sweet than the first one but had quite the interesting elements being: ability to wield a sword, a crappy fps scenes, you can control the overseer suit. Technically, the creativity from the first VN was more modified and you can clearly see the hard work. The art work is very interesting and the music was pretty good. I bought the OST for this one straight away. The story is pretty intriguing, you can clearly see the mystery, suspense and the dark twisted elements. The story immediately follows after Oliver and the others get away with the inquisitor girl's help. Darina's family sends a precious box to a certain party, you play the role of one individual who guards the box. Ups and downs come around and you don't get a smooth sailing, so every choice you make would earn you a new path. You get to meet only one character who was from the previous VN but no disappointments he was my favorite. All others are new. The visual novel tricks you and it has some insane plot twists everywhere in the story, so its a very good read and interaction.
But sadly, the visual novel won't continue. But I will still keep hope that there will be a continuation because this is a real good series. I give a thumbs up for the creativity but I do understand why the thumbs down was given by other gamers, it's pretty understandable. But, I judge the part that was given to me and those parts were great.
TLDR the game
Immediately sends walls of text at you without any reply options, I would've liked to see some variety in the art at least.
Instead you'll get 10 frames of long azz text with the same pokerface expression and a single generic frame with an open mouth, rinse and repeat.
The opening is just that as well. Except the camera pans out. In fact it pans out so good you'll be looking at black bars.
Has no quality of life whatsoever.
Don't buy this game, because developers are quarreled and left. How example: official site http://thelostwood.com/ now is offline.

First of all, keep in mind that this game is sequel of Leviathan: The Last Day of Decade and the game assumes that you are aware of events of the first game.
If you are... well, if you are expecting the direct sequel you'll be dissappointed. This is not the same game as first. Let me elaborate:
1. This is not a continuation of Oliver's story. Atleast for now it is not. Although familiar characters may appear in Cargo (and i'm most certain that they will, atleast those who stayed in the city after events of TLDD) this story is quite different, with different character cast. Different atmposhpere too.
2. Mechanics of the game is different too, it is no longer visual novel with "adventure elements", but rather vn with action elements. At some points of the story you gain direct control of your character that must shoot/slash in order to defeat his enemies. There are also "dungeons" where you should solve puzzles/ deal with traps from first-person perspective. To be honest, action-direct control elements feels very clumsy for now. I wish they just keep mechanics from the first game but... oh well.
3. Art style. You can see for yourself on screenshots, feels much more darker, tense, sinister (so is the game atmosphere btw) that "light" style of first game. I kinda like it.
As for game state for now:
Its in EA. The store page says that 3 chapters are avalable for now, with planned weekly updates ("Routes" - small branches from main story that let you see the plot in different ways, "dungeons" - i guess that is action elements/puzzles, and continuation of main story). Developers plan to increase game price with each update so it might be a good idea to buy the game now if you are dead set on it. But only if you want to support ongoing development.
In the current state of the game there are only three very-very small chapters, like 7-10 min each, with not much of story or gameplay. It feels even less than demo-version tbh. Although i "recommend" the game, it is more like future recomendation, for now i would advice to buy this only if you are vivid fan of the first game and want to support development of the sequel. I'll update rewiew as more updates will be available.
Leviathan the Cargo is a very interesting game, and takes a shift in style fairly dramatically from the Last Day of the Decade. They got in a new artist and the art is gorgeous for the characters in this. The story isn't yet finished, but I feel that Lostwood games does very interesting and morally grey characters very well. As this is an early release, you can't expect it to be just perfect yet for some parts, and you'll see a few dialogue issues that I'm sure will be resolved (nothing game breaking) - if you can look past them, then this is setting up for an intruiging plot. All that has been released so far is a build up to the rest of the story - a hook. I feel that if you've played Last Day of the Decade, you may be interested in seeing where the story goes. If you haven't then you should because it's great, and then play this as well. ^u^ If you buy it early you can get the updates for free later as well so get it while it's hot. :)
