When we played online multi play with specific players who are called cheaters and tamper their game data, our save data became aberrant by obtaining tampered items after the mission. We will keep investigating about malicious data tampering, but for now, once your save data is tampered, it is impossible to get your data back again. We would appreciate for your understanding. As a workaround for customers, since this phenomenon is caused by playing online play with cheaters and completing missions, if you find any cheaters or players who are suspected as cheaters in the online room, we deeply recommend you to leave the room as soon as possible without launching the mission. About the Game

It's very fun to play, even without friends to play with. Play through the story as ranger first to unlock all the levels in order to play the other classes. It will get hard at some points (hectors and red ants), but other than that, it's a great game to play!
Shadow of despair is the best in the series!

This game is what happens when the Japanese make a game for Americans by using just stereotypes after watching a B-rated monster movie marathon as a joke. Luckily for us Americans our stereotypes are accurate, B-rated movies are good, and this joke had a bottom line.
JUST BUY THE GAME
The Pros: It's E.D.F
It never gets old.
Pure chaos
The weapons feel great and packs a punch.
The Cons: DLC which should be included in this game. All this game is, is E.D.F 2025.
DLC is rather pricey, especially considering it stuff that should already be in the game.
It's an issue with E.D.F 5 & 6 as well.
Conclusion: If you insist on selling DLC separately. At least give us an option to purchase a Game of the Year edition.
Also, as charming as it is to continually have the same graphics each game. It would be nice if the developers put some real effort into making the graphics beautiful. I would absolutely love to see an E.D.F title use Unreal Engine 5. I understand graphics aren't everything. But it certainly doesn't hurt to have something nice to look at.
Has 4 different classes with a bunch of unique arsenal and combat vehicles, you get various new weapons/vehicles the more you play the mission. I discover this game from watching people playing it on Youtube. Overall the game is very fun and would add more fun if played with your friends!.
Edit: I forgot to add the gameplay experience is really fun and its not like you spawn and then go kill aliens mindlessly like those zombies games. Some of the weapon takes a little more skill, and some of them need other class to be used. Solo play experience also very fun, some of the mission you have ally npcs that you can recruit on the field and then following you around like you are the team leader, also you can sing along with them!. EDF! EDF! EDF!.

Ranger/Air Raider = explosions
Wing diver = "Energy weapons" has a plasma gun that goes boom , but basically its about the lance , the rapier and the thunder sniper that fires past
Fencer = Throw away all the internet hype. Read the name. Does it sound lame? Yea kinda. Meele in a ranged world. but the animation cancel makes it worth it. .... kinda... Just zip around and go .. fence people in the face.. all other weapons are just meh. Piercers are it. I'd say just dual weild them. The other 2 slots are useless unless you want to keep a ranged weapon and a meele weapon in it. cause 2 ranged... kills the class

EDF 4.1 is a brilliant game, despite its flaws!
Having played tons of EDF 5 before 4.1, I'd definitely say that it's worth going back to check it out. It's certainly got some rough edges that they managed to smooth out in EDF 5, like Ranger being... just a standard soldier without any vehicles or even the ability to sprint, and Fencer not having any additional items to give him further mobility or agility, and so on.
My greatest issue with the game - coming from 5 to 4.1 - is that you don't get any items or armor for the classes you aren't currently playing, and you get nothing unless you manage to actually beat the mission, which just sucks for whenever you might feel like your current class isn't very fit for the task at hand.
Despite those flaws, I'd still say it's a fantastic game! Highly recommended.

Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair is a third-person shooter, and sequel to 2006’s Earth Defense Force 2017. In 2013 humanity had detected radio signals in space emanating from an unknown source. Humanity pre-emptively formed the Earth Defense Force should this extra-terrestrial intelligence be hostile. (Un)fortunately, humanity was right to prepare. In 2017 the Earth was invaded by an army of hostile aliens (designated “Ravagers” by the EDF) with a penchant for employing giant insects as shock troops. Before the Ravagers could exterminate humanity, a hero arose among the EDF and destroyed the Ravager mothership. Now, eight years later, the Ravagers have returned- and this time they’ve brought ten motherships. Become a member of the elite unit “Storm-Team” and save Earth. If this plot sounds trite that’s because it is.
Sandlot’s Earth Defense Force franchise is inspired by two things: B-movies and childhood. The influence of B-movies is unmistakable with hammy dialogue delivered by cliche archetypes (the Strategic Commander is always giving rousing speeches over the radio; the Tactics Officer is heard giving instruction to the player both in-game and in-menu; an absent-minded scientist struggles to weaponise his meagre intellect), and the enemies themselves are inspired by such classics as The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) The War of the Worlds (1953 and 2005), Them! (1954), Eight Legged Freaks (2002), and of course Godzilla (1951) to name a few. The influence of childhood is diffused throughout the game. The scenario itself is a childhood daydream; characters grapple with humanity’s potential extinction with childlike enthusiasm; the weapons and vehicles meet a child’s definition of cool; everything explodes into either a shower of fire or technicolor fluid. Even the title theme has a hint of this childlike whimsy, greeting players with a bombastic but brief orchestral overture that slips into a theremin piece that promises mystery and tension. I feel as though I am taking a seat in a school gymnasium, about to watch a play starring adults that was written and directed by children.

Gameplay is simple: this is a third-person shooter in which players pick from one of four playable classes, and then fight the Ravagers over the course of a 99 (150 with DLC) mission campaign. This alone would provide tens of hours of varied gameplay, but this is only the beginning. As players defeat enemies they will collect health upgrades and new, more powerful weapons to better slay the Ravagers with. And with five difficulties to choose from (the higher difficulties offering better weapon unlocks) players will have hundreds of hours of content to explore. All of these mechanics blend seamlessly into an experience that is fluid and responsive. Enemies are physically wavered by your attacks and it’s always satisfying. Controls are tight whether on foot or behind the wheel. Sound-effects are crisp and punchy. Explosions rock the screen and light the sky. Whether you’re a cannon-fodder Ranger, a jetpack-adorned Wing Diver, a heavily armed and armoured Fencer, or the strategically minded Air Raider, EDF never gets old.
Speaking of unleashing forces, the EDF troops are a never-ending source of entertainment. Whether they’re asking about your “girl back home” or wondering “did you eat lunch” they never fail to chime in with the right words at the right time. Likewise, you are constantly being monitored and fed information by EDF Strategic Command Headquarters. This is a whole cast of unseen characters whose performances are so earnest it’s hard to imagine the game without them, and players will grow to enjoy their company at HQ.

This piece of interactive media known as a "video game" is able to be played strategically or by blindfolding oneself and waving the HUD element known as the "Crosshair" around like a most inebriated hooligan, alongside clicking the left element of a hardware device known as a "Mouse" randomly. Good game. Got to play this gem after i finished 5 and 6. QoL was low but that's fun (for me)
