Postal Redux is developed by Running With Scissors and released in 2016.
It is a remastered version of Postal, an isometric shooter originally released in 1997.
On a cold winter's day, a man goes on a genocidal rampage...
The Postal Dude seems to have it in for the whole world.
What's the point of messing with a guy who looks like a neurotic or schizophrenic?
Whatever his motives, the psychopath decides to slaughter anyone who gets in his way,
Earth is crying out for blood and flesh, and it's time to satiate it!
The Postal Dude goes on a crusade against humanity,
sowing death and chaos wherever he can,
cackling or spouting macabre lines like "Show no mercy", "Only my weapon understands me",
"Evil must die", "Death is my master", "They'll all pay", "See you in Hell" and so on.
In reality, you must kill all those considered hostile,
i.e. those who are armed, thugs like policemen or soldiers.
But why stop at them when you can exterminate anything that moves?
Better to reduce the population to nothing - no survivors, no witnesses!
You'll have free rein to unleash your deadly fury with a dozen weapons and explosives,
including an SMG (with infinite ammo!), a Sawed-Off Shotgun, a Flamethrower,
a Rocket Launcher, Molotov Cocktails, Landmines...
You've seriously wounded someone, who's lying on the ground in agony, understanding that they're living their last moments?
No problem, you can finish him off with a special button, which will blow his brains out!
Once you've dispatched all the vermin in the vicinity to Hell,
you'll be free to flee the area for the next level.
Don't forget to pick up life packs, armor and ammo on the way out.
This will give you a chance to contemplate the bloodbath you've committed,
and prepare for your next shootout.
The campaign includes some twenty levels, with mostly urban settings such as back alleys, a construction site, a mine, a park, a junkyard, an industrial zone,
a mine, a park, a junkyard, an industrial zone...
Perfect places to commit carnage!
The game's atmosphere is quite creepy and oppressive at times, with many strange sounds scattered throughout the maps, menus and loading screens, but the whole thing remains fairly minimalist. In fact, there's hardly any music at all.
The graphics are nicely remastered and perfectly convey the decay of this crazy, dirty, dilapidated, soulless world.
Once you've completed your funereal journey,
there are other modes to prolong the sadistic pleasure.
Rampage mode consists in slaughtering as many people as possible as fast as possible to reach the high score.
And if you've got a friend who's just as deranged as you, there's also a Co-op mode for two, and a Deathmatch mode!
Deeply amoral, ultraviolent and, above all, a whole lot of fun,
Postal Redux is an excellent, highly enjoyable release,
to satisfy your psychopathic urges.
Crazy visual, did not expect that
fix the issue that makes the game not open. PLS!!! me and a lot of peoples have had problems bc the engine of the game is not compatible whit our windows version (if i remember this correctly)
Y'know this game is surprisingly fun.
do not waste 7 pounds on this, its literally higher graphiced postal 1
The gunplay is so bloody smooth oh my God
Rampage is awesome too, really good remaster(?) or remake(?) not sure, its more of a remake i guess
love the game
yes yes, shoot the birds and go poopstal yes yes in the epic 2017 Temporomandibular Grind bow now now now now now, now now now now now now, buh nana buh nana, bow now now now now now now yes yes
the game is good but it keeps crashing idk why
Here I was, minding my own business, enjoying my second amendment rights, and you people have to freak out on me.
Least insane American simulator
Also, going from FFX / X-2 into this was a hilariously jarring form a whiplash
goated overhead shooter, the original was missing actual good gameplay so seeing a small development team remake a game is incredible, congrats RWS
this game also has a kill yourself button, 10/10 once again
i would love to play this game but it keeps crashing for newer intel cards. i pray for a miracle
good game
Postal Redux is my all-time favorite Postal game and will forever be my all-time favorite Postal game.
Less signing petitions, more shooting! 9/10.
I cant play its give error when I open, pls fix it
You pay money to make the enemies harder. 7/10 Alright
It's unfortunate that, when Postal originally came out, someone going on a rampage similar to Dude's was seen as borderline unthinkable, which added to its shock value, but that in our current times occurances such as this have become common in largely every region of the world.
Still, the commentary Postal provides on violence and mental health related issues deserves its praise. The atmosphere is unique and frightening, the soundtrack and artwork really make going through the game an eerie experience. It has improved much in relation to gameplay when compared to the original, making it weirdly satisfying and further adding to the guilt the player feels about what they're doing.
Overall, a great game that needs to be experienced at least once. The ending has changed from the original, but the message remains, even if it presented in a more cryptic and enigmatic manner. I recommend it.
This game is amazing and fun
I CAN'T GET THE MAD FOUR ACHIEVEMENT SOMEONE ADD ME TO GET IT PLS I'M BEGGING Y'ALL
every time i see or see someone mentioning this game i get a boner
fuck p2 p1 was superior!!!
It's faithful to the original game from 1997 with a lot of improvements and new features that the original lacked.
But unlike 1997 Original, the Redux feels much easier.
I had a blast playing this game.
If you don't have much time or you like Postal series I would recommend this game for you.
i enjoyed it, gets a bit boring but peaks after ghetto imo
This game is everything a remake should be - extremely faithful to the original with all changes being quality of life / actual improvements. Everyone saying it's "the exact same as the original but prettier" have never played the original. OG POSTAL 1 stopped you whenever you shot a weapon besides the standard SMG and grenades were equipped like your guns, meaning no "just press this button to toss a nade."
As for the game itself, I absolutely ADORE how dark and edgy it is. The best way to describe it is "playing an '80s-early '90s heavy metal album cover art." Everything is almost comically bleak and the narrative of believing yourself to be the good guy as you slaughter innocents is very novel. I understand why they didn't keep making games exactly like this, but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be interested in a new POSTAL game that takes this game's tone.
Best remaster i have ever played.Soundtrack for the ranpage levels is great and so is everything else.
fun and short nothing much to write home about, although the aesthetic of the original is wayyyyyyyy better in terms of visuals and ending cutscene
this game is messed up.
Co-op is pretty fun but the rest just plays no different to the first. Buy on sale only
This is the one where the gameplay is better than art. It's not as scary or disturbing as the original however ze shootsings are better. Good game btw.
PLEASE REMOVE LEVEL "THE BRIDGE"
This Postal dude is really reduxed
it like postal if it reduxed
A fun remake of POSTAL. It does have a bug where you crash randomly but there is a fix in the community hub
Amazing remake, authentic to the original while improving many features and making it generally better to play. Sucks that a lot of these games are banned in many regions, I am luckily not in any of those but to my friends from other countries its sad. Great game though, would recommend.
faithful remake of original game and it has coop, pretty fun
A schizo goes on a killing spree, fun game.
From the halls of the Vatican to the runways of truth, we are there. At the place called Climax and the time called NOW! When it's done, let the gods sort it out!
This game was amazing. Taking you through the depths of the mind of a schizophrenic mass killer in the midst of a mental breakdown. Postal Redux is a faithful remaster to the original game, and adds extra content to make it more replayable, through it's Rampage and Co-op gamemodes. I recommend it to not just fans of Postal, but people who are just getting into the franchise. Just be warned - This game is quite the departure from the rest of the franchise, and if you play this as well as the other games, you might feel some severe tonal whiplash.
good game but PLEASE RWS FIX THE FUCKING GAME FOR HIGH END PC PLAYERS WE BEG OF YOU-
Keeps the m̶͖̀a̵͕͇̱̓̅̊s̴̛͙̝̾͋s̷̨̡̈ ̶̲̇̇̕s̸̛͖ĥ̵̘̠͗͝ȯ̴͎͙̀ͅò̷̢͈̖̔t̷̥̀̔e̷̯̝̜̊̾͝r̶̩̲͍͠ urges at bay
A mediocre twin stick shooter with outstanding, unique art direction. It's a cult classic for a reason.
The Earth is hungry. Its heart throbs and demands cleansing. The Earth is also thirsty.
Its basically just Postal 1 with multiplayer, difficult and fun
The game is like a slow and tanky version of Hotline Miami. You shoot and gun down various types of enemies that have low visibility and they fight back with crappy AI. Its a lot of fun as a game you play while listening to stuff. And its not too unfairly difficult. Nightmare is not very hard and rampage mode is so much fun where you have to keep the kill streak going to get a score at the end of the level. Lots of replayability, definetly pick it up on discount.
A fun game to play together for a full playthrough, but only once.
It's alright for a remake... I prefer the original Postal 1 though. I suppose without that 1,000 voice scream spamming bug in central park it just doesn't quite do it for me...
EDIT: For anyone wanting to fix this buggy PoS game from crashing constantly; here's how you do it. Read below:
----------------------
How to fix game crashing for 10th and 11th gen CPU's.
Step 1. Open "Control Panel" by searching for it in Windows search bar, by pressing the Windows button or key.
Step 2. Go to "System & Security"
Step 3. Go to "System"
Step 3. Press "Advanced system settings"
Step 4. Press "Environmental Variables"
Step 5. Create a new "System Variable" (NOT USER VARIABLE)
Step 6. Enter the following into the Variable name box: OPENSSL_ia32cap
Step 7. Enter the following into the Variable value box: ~0x20000000
Step 8. Now press OK.
Please try starting Post Scriptum again, you may need to restart your system for the changes to take effect.
-----
If show timer option in settings > game
isn't working... try this:
Go to the %localappdata%/PostalREDUX/Saved/Config/ and open a file called Game.ini with any text editor. This is what you'll see inside:
[/script/postalredux.postalreduxgamemode]
DifficultyLevel=Easy
bHideTracers=False
bShowSpeedunTime=True
bFullWindowMouseCrosshair=True
AALevelOverride=AAM_FXAA
MaxBots=0
To enable Show Timer just set bShowSpeedrunTime=True
Save and launch REDUX again.
Amazing game, very fun and would highly recommend.
It's literally the exactly same as the original POSTAL, but with better graphics (the entire point) for nearly $10 bucks.
I'd stay away from it unless you're trying to buy every title. Only decent part about it is co-op, but for that I'd recommend just downloading Nick's Co-op on POSTAL 2, and even though it'll crash a lot, it's still much more fun.
Anyways, shit "game", 2/10, cash grab.
very well made and thought out, really puts on the vibe is trying to give out
Game keeps crashing due to using windows 11 and a 12th gen intel processor.
I will be waiting for the developers to patch this so I may make a better review.
NEVER BUY THIS GAME IF YOU HAVE A PROCESSOR HIGHER THAN 10TH GENERATION!!!!
A Solid Game Pretty nice that they made a remastered.
