A cute, short, interesting adverture game. It's hard to explain what makes this game fun, you'll just have to try it and find out for yourself.
adorable, fun, beautiful and engaging
the art is amazing and the story is too :)
Wuppo is a very nice game. I originally bought it for my wife, but it was me the one who ended up playing it, hahaha.
I don't regret it though; I had lots of fun and all the funny/weird moments in the game.
It is not a long game, but it is definitely worth it.
WEH!, Boss Rush should be on other platforms, i beat Wuppo on my Nintendo Switch but i was sad to see that boss rush isn't on it.
It's alright
It has blussers.
This game is just very pleasant, pleasant vibes, pleasant characters, pleasant gameplay. I genuinely enjoyed it and I highly recommend it to anyone willing to give it a try!
A charming game with a whimsical world that is a joy to discover. The lively environments, fitting music, and well realized world building immersed me into its setting. I enjoyed the mundane activities like travelling on public transportation, waiting in lines for amusement rides and delivering newspapers. It made the locations more believable. It felt like I was not the center of the universe but a single participant. I liked the game slightly less towards the end when it became more heroic and epic.
Cute, and fun up to a certain point, but this is one of those games where I got stuck and just stopped caring, so I have yet to finish. Sorry, Wuppo.
10/10, loved it when items I could only get once disappeared from my inventory.
basically every time there's a sale this is a dollar and honestly i don't think there's a better game for a dollar in existence
I give this game a rank C+ (65-70%)
Decent game - a pleasant experience... on sale.
See my profile for more details about my reviews.
I really thought I would enjoy Wuppo more, but after 3 hours I don't think I want to continue my journey in it. Since I did not finish the game, I will just write a quick review here instead of my video reviews on YouTube.
The game is not bad, it is quite decent at what is tries to achieve. Very nice little adventure game, with platformer mechanisms, jumping and shooting features of a metroidvania, not really the level design of one though. Art is cute-ish but maybe too much on the cute-silly side. LOTS of dialogues and story (as shallow as it is, mind you). TONS of music, varying for very nice sounds to bleeping/kiddish muzak. MANY items and stuff to gather and quest for.
The problem with Wuppo is that despite its cute, silly, whimsical, kiddish looks... it is not really much more than a cute, silly, whimsical, kiddish game. I kept hoping for the few hours I played to discover some hidden depth, some more grown up content in it, but all throughout it felt just silly and a bit dumb. I don't mind hiding some depth and scope behind some silly looks... but not silly looks for no content. The content here had nothing deep or smarter than I was given, so after a few bosses and MANY dialogues that just felt pushy and heavy, I had to come to the conclusion that this game was maybe just not for me.
My son, who is around 10 years old, loved it.... for a few hours too, since then he has not picked it up. So I wonder if it is just me, and not more than that: I think this game lacks substance, and it is sad because I can feel the work. Lots of efforts put in here. If you are young, or if you enjoy silly/whimsical just for the sake of it, you might give this game an A. Still a very decent game!
(For additional context, I've also played the original game, including boss rush on consoles for over 60 hours, earning 100% achievement completion on that version).
As much as I love Wuppo to the moon and back, it was not a perfect game. It had some pacing issues, the Boss Rush was on buggier side (not unplayable, just occasionally annoying), and the intentionally sloppy design did trip over itself when administering difficulty in certain segments. As such, I definitely understand why some people would bounce off the game at a first stab. However, Wuppo's "Definitive" update ironed out the majority of these issues (or at least tweaked it to not be as egregious), so if you were turned off by some of the issues in the original, it may be worth a second look, especially considering how often the game goes on sale for dirt cheap.
Even if such an update never existed, I would still urge you to at least give this game a try if you haven't before. It's a wonderful, wholesome little adventure that celebrates the little things, most comparable to something along the lines of Pikuniku. The world is small, but it is densely packed with things to discover, whether they be individuals with something neat or funny to say, optional activities, a whole optional area, or tidbits of lore that go surprisingly deep for a game of this scope. Even if you accidentally ignore this side content, the exploration is still organic, which is in service to its richly detailed world. While the bosses aren't particularly complicated, they serve more as a discovery or a reward, rather than something to be expected (even if a lot of them are mandatory for progression). Their character designs are wildly unique and their fights are all thoroughly enjoyable.
I know I'm being painfully broad in my descriptions here, but if you are interested in playing this game, I would strongly advise doing so blindly. Similarly to Pikuniku, this game is littered with little joys, and they are made all the better when experienced firsthand.
This game is an absolute masterpiece and a work of art. the pure emotion this game displays through its writing is truly amazing
jokes aside this games pretty good. High replayability, lots of stuff to do, and the most splendid graphics. 10/10.
pretty fun
Wuppo do mnie zupełnie nie trafił. Gra wydaję mi się flashówką, która zapragnęła być pełnoprawną grą. I fakt, jest urocza i ciekawa, ale na 30 minut. Nie polecam.
Pozdrawiam Cieplutko!
This game is a overall delight and is 100% the time to play
Playtime: 26 hrs
Very cute graphics but very hard game for an action game newbie like me. Overall it was a fun game but I don’t think I will ever improve enough to get all the achievements with the boss run. I saw the dev put up a new game in the making but haven’t heard any news on it. I wonder where they are now in terms of the development.
It's like paper mario's weird dutch cousin with racism. It's really fun.
