Tinboy is a terrible Puzzle Platformer with very dodgy physics and controls. It's sad that some developers think they have created a "difficult" Puzzle game when in fact it's just a "ludicrous" product.
Brilliant little pixel-puzzle adventure game, playing as "Tinboy", who's made by some female scientist.
Tinboy is armour-clad, have a bow and 3 different types of arrows, that (1) is arrows you can shoot into walls, to jump onto, to get higher up, (2) that come with a rope to swing from place to place, and (3) a bomb-arrow, that you can use to blow things or yourself in various directions. Underway you pick up something that look like flying bread toasters, 3 of them in each room, that I haven't tried to skip picking up, but I guess you'll have to do that, if you want to get from start to the exit through the door to next room and next quiz.
There's 60 levels, with 3 quiz missions in each, so a total of 180 missions to get from start to finishing the game. Keeping this in mind, I don't recommend buying this, unless it on 80% sale, priced about 1$US, like it was when I bought it today.
I kind of recommend it.
6/10
I finished all episopdes. Some these are really hard but i did. After 60 episode the game is over. <3
This is technically Pinocchio but metal version.
Or maybe this is the real origin of Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz!
After 10 completed levels + checked some later ones:
I don't think I want to play more.
It's not fun, it's annoying.
And it's not hard, it's frustrating.
It's okay. However, I have plenty of issues with this game, which is why I can't recommend it.
There's three types of arrows you can fire. One is just a simple arrow, another one places a rope between you and the object that's been hit and the last one explodes. There's 60 levels to interact with objects to reach the exit. Some levels are ridiculously difficult, but they are mostly fine.
Now, the problem I have with this game is the physics. They feel odd and make the controls feel awkward. Also, some levels felt overly precise, and some gave me had a feeling of "Was that the actual solution or did I cheese the level?"
Another thing that really annoyed me is that you fire the arrows with the mouse, but since I have two monitors, the mouse kept leaving the window. Even worse, when I ran out of window, the arrows didn't fire properly. The game could have really benefited from locking the mouse.
I mostly enjoyed playing this game, but I got bored quickly. It took me several breaks until I actually decided to finish the game. All in all, it feels too rough to recommend.
I've purchased this title during a sale back in 2015, but ever since that time, I haven't picked it up to give it a try, because there were some other priorities on my list. Nonetheless, I've seen the videos and pictures before installing it, and thought to myself that it seemed simple enough to be one of those casual games. Well, not exactly...
First things first: Ok, so there's no story, but it's not that much of an issue. You just control this armored guy where the goal is to reach the end of the stage, while trying to collect three pieces of chips per level (just some other distraction that adds to each level's difficulty).
The graphics are basic, but I'm rarely picky when it comes to this kind of aspect. As for the music and sound effects... After repeating a level for a few times, the first thing that I had in mind was: "Where the hell do I turn this damn thing off?". And guess what? You can't find that option on the menu, so I had to manually mute the game through the Windows' sound controls.
As for the gameplay... Good Lord. The controls don't seem to be that much of an issue in the beginning, but the more you advance in the game, the more you can get to realize how screwed you actually are. In the first few levels, I bet that anyone can progress fairly well, but when you're getting closer to level 10, the learning curve, combined with this other aspect mentioned previously, suddenly steps on you without any mercy. You realize that collecting the damn chips isn't really important, otherwise you'll probably get yourself an injury for repetitive movements, besides a conventional headache.
Concerning the puzzle elements, I think that some of them were really creative, while some other ones were simply annoying (especially because I had to deal with some glitches throughout the way). Seriously, when you realize that the game that you're playing is making you feel more stressed than satisfied, that's when there's obviously a problem.
Another important thing that I can't let to mention: If you like to pick games to unlock all achievements, I honestly recommend you to look for another game. Well, I'm sure that you're gonna get most of them without too much of a problem, but the ones related to the chips are something that it's definitely not in my plans.
Overall, if you like puzzle games and are tolerant with bad controls, this could be an option, otherwise, keep looking...
What is this? It looks like another game made just for Trading Cards. Like a port from a mobile phone, looks disgraceful and the gameplay is absolutely horrendeous.
That's a big no.

TLDR: Sidescroll creative walker. Use bow and flinger busy work and physics to unlock progression in an underproduced indie puzzle game with little plot hook.
Oustanding Issues:
+Mouse controls for controlling the bow are reversed. Very unintuitive
+Bow is used in almost every puzzle
+Audiovisually poor. Flat 2D Flash-Grade sprites with little animation work. Audio was grating.
+Lacks asset diversity. Everything looks bare like it is still in the map editor it came from.
YOU CAN CHANGE ARROW TYPE BY USING THE '1', '2' and '3' keys! (and not the ones exclusively at the num pad)
Hello!
I decided to write this review to tell that you do not need to click on the knight to change arrow type. Yes, that's a way, but not the only one. I've seen this on 2 reviews just by doing a quick roll. So I'd like to defend this point because it would be some terrible design decision indeed. But I'm not criticizing the reviews too. Maybe controls were updated, I don't know!!! :D
So, about the game in general, yeah, there are some bugs, physics are sometimes strange and the song can be annoying, but the concept is good and the levels are not easy. Unfortunately, I wish I could hit the up and down votes simultaneously.
A puzzle platforming game that has a fair amount of challenge and a total of 60 levels! For $1 this is a good amount of content for a puzzle game when you compare it to something like Portal honestly. It introduces new mechanics to make you re-think your stategy for the puzzles. Every level has 3 objects to collect if your a completionist.

Go to Store (Featured), Click on Games, Narrow by Feature (Steam Trading Cards), Relevance (Lowest Price).
Then skip to Page 9 or 10, until you find the .50 - $1.00 games.
Add them to your Wishlist, games that are a dollar can go on sale and you may be able to purchase for cheap!
A game at .50 may give you that value back in trading cards.
Search and Install "Idle Master" which will run your games even without the game being installed.
I may or may not ever play this game, but some games I have installed and messed around with on a rainy day!
@ .50-$1.00 it's hard not to recommend!
Okay game, the puzzles may really easy sometimes, but the good thing is that you have some different ways to solve them. There is no music, which is really bad, though.
The mechanics are simples but hard to use, it is pretty hard, sometimes, to make your character to use the bow, it simply doesn't use it.
Overall, the game is ok and in a good sale it will be worth it
You'll have more fun killing your friends IRL than play this game. It's terrible. The controls are annoying, the sprite work is badly done, the tune that plays is terrible and there is no music outside of the title screen. I bought this when there was a sale for it, it wasn't even worth the little I payed for it. Don't waste your money.
EDIT: I just thought I'd add this in but I bought this game with a positive mindset. I thought the reviewers were too skeptical of the game. I was wrong. Very, very wrong. Developer, please read this. I know you tried. I respect you for that. But next time, get some extra people in. If you want, I can do some of the spriting free of charge, just talk to me about it and we can sort something out.
This game might have the worst controls of any game on the steam store. It's impressive if you can get past the tutorial, because it's that unplayable.
Good concept | Bad controls
a great idea for a game! just poorly done. Im sure in the future this will be a good and intersting game, but for now it is a bit buggy in places. Overall a good game, i would encourage you to pick this up on a sale and see for your selfs!!!!!
It's actually a good game for what it is. If I where to pick one thing out, the controls are a bit unresponsive. People do tend to have trouble with the drawback mechanism, but its only problem is it's a bit unresponsive unless you pull back horizontally, which in most cases you need to shoot on an angle, and the clicking on the character to change weapon types isn't too bad either. One suggestion I would make is to change the overall layout, like making an HUD where you can press 1 to use standard arrows, 3 for explosives, and 2 for grappiling hook. It's a simple game and it is challenging, not because of the controls, but because it's a difficult game, and welcomingly so. Overall, it's a good way to waste time if you really have nothing else to do or if you enjoy a good challenge especially for the price. It costs as much as a crappy iPhone game but it has better quality, and not to mention the 200 FPS gameplay, and I don't even have a good graphics card.
It's an ok flash game with weird concept and physics. I guess one could buy when on sale and there's nothing else to play.
By the way, as others have pointed out, clicking on the robot to change weapons was a bad design decision.
This game is by no means BAD or anything, but I also can't really recommend it. The control scheme -- as many other reviewers have mentioned -- is just simply too clunky for the game to be much fun.
What I mean is, mostly, it's hard to really classify this as a platformer (albeit a puzzle platformer, even) because everything is always interrupted a thousand times by clunkily shooting arrows. As others have mentioned (again), you have to click on the KNIGHT in order to change between shot types as well.
For now I'm going to give this a "No".. but I really do think there's something good here as far as the concept and level design. If the controls were patched SOMEHOW I'd give the game another shot for sure.
If they implemented controller support it would fix all of the problems people bitch about. If you can get used to having to pull an arrow more then once occasionaly this game is great.
P.S dont listen to anyone complaining about clicking on the robot to switch arrows, they obviously didn't play long enough to notice the number keys (1,2,3) switch between all the types of arrows.
I might have been the first one to ever play this game. And all I can say is it was the best 65 cents I've ever spent. Sure, it's clunky, but it just came out and the game mechanics work, it's fun, and it's only 65 cents as of August 31st 2015. A fun little game and it's definitely worth a buy. The audio is a little messed up as of now but still-- 65 cents people. And it will most likely be patched in the future.
