Visually it's an upgrade from the last, but that's all the good I can say for this entry. I have had to start multiple levels over due to bugs and glitches that always happen at the end of those levels. That might not be so bad if the levels were as short as the first game's, instead they are 2-3 times as long mostly due to the bugs. Save your money, watch a playthrough instead.

"I love this game with all its details, from the graphics and music to the ideas. Every part of the game is incredibly fun and adds a special touch that makes the experience unique."
Great game.
epic, 10 of 10
the perfect example of a by the book, play it safe kind of sequel, it does nothing worse than the previous game but it doesn't do much to change or improve. Too many times will you be presented with a puzzle that you need to use a guide to figure it only to go 'oh that's how it's done?' or ' you can do that!?!?'
SHORT
A great sequel to the first game, with several improvements. I recommend it. It should take you about 27 hours to finish all the levels and get all the achievements.
LONG
Trine 2 is a 2D platform game, and what makes it unique is the dynamic switching between the 3 protagonists (thief, wizard and warrior). The story is a direct sequel to the first game (Trine) and the gameplay has improvements in all aspects.
The story is slightly deeper and more interesting than the first game, but it is still quite shallow, but I think the level of depth is adequate for this style of game and the plot keeps you interested. The soundtrack is still fantastic, just like in the first game.
The gameplay is very similar to the first game, with the addition of some mechanics and the simplification of some systems. The scenarios have many more interactive items and feel more alive in general. In addition, the puzzles have also had their difficulty level slightly increased compared to the first game.
There are 13 levels in the base game + 7 in the expansion. It took me 27 hours to finish everything (on hard difficulty with hardcore mode on) and get all the achievements.
I think it's a really cool game! It's worth playing the first one first, to appreciate the full story. This game is usually very cheap on sale, I recommend it!
Good Co-op Platformer game
I was a huge Lost Vikings kid so I really want to like these games but I always end up getting frustrated and quitting. Yeah yeah, "get good" and everything, but listen: if a game doesn't make me WANT to get good, whose fault is that? There's plenty of games I've suffered through and took my lumps because I actually cared about beating them. Not this one, sorry. You can only accidentally conjur up so many magic platforms before you lose interest. Also even at the lowest graphical settings it ran slow on my computer.
The literal definition of my childhood, this game was always great and will stay timeless no matter what. Every time I boot it up I'm just as excited as when I first did, and despite the game not being as replayable, the nostalgia definitely makes up for it.
Great successor to the first installment, even if it gets a bit tedious at the end. Still had lots of fun with this.
its very fun
cool game fun hard puzzles
its ok
its so good
Trine 2 is a stunning puzzle-platformer with gorgeous visuals, clever puzzles, and fun character switching. While the base game offers a magical experience, achievement hunters will find the hardcore challenges tough but rewarding—memorizing levels and replaying is key.
The DLC adds breathtaking new levels but doesn’t expand much on the story, serving as a beautiful extra chapter. Perfect for fans of platformers and co-op games!
A bit better than the first game, and it looks better too, so I quite liked it.
Some achievements are broken in co-op (pop for host but not for co-op partners) and host regularly sees different things than co-op partners as well if the co-op partner is the wizard especially.
Recommended
I loved story, graphics and it was fun. Still play it.
a worthy successor that's even better. love it & highly recommend playing it with your friends
The entire series is absolutely worth playing. 1, 2 , 4, and 5. they're all incredible.
Good:
- Better than Trine 1 in most aspects: physics, puzzles, monsters & their AI
- Very fun on Hard&Hardcore, was an intense challenge
- Best part of the game is the creative puzzle solving and creative fighting mechanics, truly rewards knowledge in mechanics and unit skills
Bad:
- A few unskippable cutscenes is annoying on Hard&Hardcore
- Removed the Item feature that I liked a lot in the first game
- UI is very outdated and inefficient, especially irritating when playing Hard&Hardcore
bork/10 nice animations
Better than 1. Very refined, very beautiful. Co-op is broken in the sense that you can just cheese everything
no monke
another fun five hours of coop gamering. if you liked trine 1 trine 2 is more of the same. get this one on sale too.
Its still Trine
Listen, Trine 2: Complete Story is like that unexpected, visually stunning game that feels as if someone took a fairytale, injected it with pure artistic testosterone, and then went, "Right, now let's make this absolutely mental!"
The world is so beautifully crafted, it's like Leonardo da Vinci had a few pints, got high on magical mushrooms, and decided to design a video game landscape. Forests so lush you'd want to have a picnic, castles so mystical you'd half expect a unicorn to walk up and offer you a cup of tea.
Now, the puzzles. Oh, the puzzles! They're cleverer than my mate Johan trying to solve a Rubik's cube - which, by the way, would take him approximately three decades. The shield deflection mechanic? Genius. It's like someone said, "Let's make physics fun!" And they bloody well did.
The characters are a right laugh. The wizard is basically that mate who turns up to a fight with a calculator instead of a weapon. "I'll solve this mathematically!" Yeah, good luck with that, mate. But somehow, it works! The archer's got more weapon variations than a military surplus store - fire arrows, explosive arrows, ice arrows - it's like a bloody weapon pick 'n' mix.
And the difficulty? It's more forgiving than my nan after I've broken her favorite teapot. Die? No problem! The game saves everything. It's like having a mate who always has your back, picking you up and dusting you off after every spectacular failure.
The DLC? Eh, it's like that extra slice of pizza you didn't really need but ate anyway. Not terrible, just... unnecessary. The main game ends so perfectly, it's like a mic drop moment, and then suddenly - "Wait, there's more!" It's like an awkward after-party nobody really wanted.
Multiplayer is where this game truly shines. It's more fun than watching Johan attempt to understand quantum physics. Single-player? Still solid. But with friends? It's like comedy - everything's better with mates.
Final verdict? Buy it, play it, love it. This game's cheaper than a night out with me buying rounds.
Co-op is still lots of fun 11 years later, looks amazing, with an amazing soundtrack.
Definitely some camera jank and other things that were much improved in the later Trines, but still a solid co-op game nonetheless. Graphics hold up surprisingly well for being a decade old.
A Trine sequel. Puzzling and platforming, as far as platformers go, not super innovative in any way apart from nice co-op, yet still enjoyable.
Much more rich visuals then the first and better characterization on the heroes but still rather basic tropes that just doesn't grab me and the platforming doesn't feel fun, regardless of the gimmick.
Trine 2 is a visually stunning puzzle-platformer with charming characters, clever physics-based puzzles, and seamless co-op gameplay. Its enchanting world and relaxing atmosphere make it a joy to play!
A true classic!
My gambling addict friend said if I post a review and it gets 350 likes and 50 Awards that he will buy me a case of beer, some vodka and 1 kg of lemon So im just gonna leave this here.
Мой друг-игроман сказал, что если я опубликую отзыв и он наберет 350 лайков и 50 наград, он купит мне ящик пива, немного водки и 1 кг лимона, так что я просто оставлю это здесь.
The Trine series is fun and beautiful. The writing really picks up starting with this entry. The only reason I have low hours on Steam is because I bought the 4 games on my Switch, and I played the hell out of them on it. Definitely recommend it for anyone who wants a fun adventure.
Great Improvement from the first one. You will need less than 15 hours to finish the complete story. Some challenges here and there. Battle is meh, except from the boss fights which are nice but not hard. Some good problems to solve. The atmosphere was nice if you like the fairy-tale style. It's a time not wasted i guess.
This game is just a buggy mess. It is so hard and frustrating to control anything with the Wizards levitation skill, or to hit a moving target with a Zoyas arrow or with the Pontius' hammer, that it kills all the fun in the game. Very often Goblins are stuck in the place where a player can not reach them with any kind of weapon. The most of the game Zoya is totally useless and in the boss battles the only character that can do any damage is Pontius. The respawning of the characters is often in a useless place where you get instantly killed after you respawn, Very unbalanced game, and a set back in comparison to the first Trine game.
worse movement than the first and feels like less stuff in the game
Might be the best coop puzzle game ever. The ability to solve the puzzles in a way that suits me is a perfect design choice, makes the game much more fun to play. Probably completed more than half of the puzzles "unintended way" and created lots of chaos. Characters skill sets are also good but might be better because after some point it falls short.
The world, sounds, story is in a perfect combination which really gives the chill, adventurous vibes while retaining its comical image. Game has no difficulty at all but I liked the approach, because having to start over and over after one misstep could be tiresome. Instead game saves all the changes in level, so when you die your stuff remains which means you can easily continue where you left off.
Dlc was a nice add-on but it felt forced so not sure it was needed because the game ended in a perfect place then cutscene starts you continue playing which is not a nice transition. Puzzles are fun and unique, especially deflecting with shield is a nice thought and the dash of course. For other characters, wizard is the most interesting one thought his combat ability pruned (I think that's intentional but it could have been much better if they decided to give him a proper powers). Arrow mechanics are superb and comes with all other options (fire, explosive, ice etc.).
Definitely recommend the whole series (except 3 which is a disaster, motion sickness inducing abomination), of course it's much much better playing coop but I think it would be a great singleplayer experience as well.
It's good but these games keep getting better
Simply...amazing !
A wonderful update to the first game, both graphically and in puzzles/action!
Dette er helt på trine 2
Super fun just make sure you don't alt tab otherwise the game will 99% crash!
Funny gobos, funny Baru, good game. Tabbing out of the game crashes it, and a couple of ingame bugs, but nothing too crazy. DLC is amazing, preferred it to the main campaign.
Thumbs up!
