The Adventure Pals is an action-packed platformer about friendship, exploration, and riding your giraffe. And, of course, the age-old tale of an evil madman with the nefarious plan of turning old people into delicious hot dogs.
Mr. B is kidnapping old people and turning them into hot dogs! It's up to you and your best buds, Mr. Rock and Sparkles the Giraffe, to save the day. Leap, slash, and blast your way through increasingly madcap levels. Along the way you'll help a whale regain confidence, take a side in the battle between toast and dinosaurs, and travel to a legendary sunken city to decide the result of a Pirate election.
Inspired by classic platformers and cartoons alike, The Adventure Pals is a mixture of lovingly handcrafted platformer levels, combat focused arenas, and unique locations with townsfolk who provide quests, items, and other goodies to aid you on your journey. Just like your favorite peanut butter and jelly sandwich, The Adventure Pals is both nutty and sweet, with perhaps just a little crunch.
- Explore five distinct worlds, all with their own unique characters and quests.
- Level up by defeating baddies to improve your health, stabbin', or rock-smashin'.
- Gameplay that's easy to pick up, but ramps up the challenge as you go.
- A fun and funny story with a bizarre but lovable cast and hilarious cartoon cutscenes.
- Play by yourself, or with a bestie in co-op mode.
- Three words: Giraffe. Helicopter. Tongue.
This is you! One minute it’s your birthday, the next your Papa is being stolen from you right before your eyes! Thrust into the role of adventurer, you quickly realize that you are a natural at this baddie-bashing, grapple-swinging, toaster-popping, quest-completing, experience-leveling, treasure-seeking malarky. But will you be able to rescue your Papa and stop Mr B’s diabolical plans in time?
Friend. Philosopher. MENSA member. Giraffe. Sparkles has many talents beyond being a mere mount. Use her not-at-all-creepy helicopter-like tongue to slow and direct your fall, or her long neck to yank yourself to distant enemies for devastating combo finishers, or up to those hard-to-reach platforms to, y’know... jump higher.
When you need somebody sturdy you can lean on for support, call Mr. Rock, because, well... he's a literal rock. Maybe he's a bit of a smart-aleck, but don't take him for granite - you’ll discover he has some pretty awesome abilities to unlock as you adventure through the game.

Fun game, well developed
My son and I just finished this game. We both loved it! He says, "Its the best $$$ I've spent and I love it so much!" We both laughed many times during the game. Can't wait for Adventure Pals 2!
The game presents an enchanting first impression in all departments, though its charm becomes less compelling with extended play. While the visuals draw inspiration from beloved series like Adventure Time, the aesthetic feels disconnected from the game's core elements rather than serving the overall experience.
The writing starts with promise, offering quirky encounters and humorous moments. However, the humor tends to rely on simple subversions (like a whale wanting to wear a thong) without building toward deeper comedic or narrative payoffs. The story, while whimsical, doesn't quite develop its initial potential. It suffers from a peculiar form of self-awareness that ultimately undermines itself. While it attempts to satirize gaming tropes - with villains announcing their absurd hot dog-transformation schemes and characters lampshading plot conveniences with fourth-wall-breaking comments - it never transcends these same clichés. Instead, the game seems content to simply point at its narrative shortcuts like a child pointing at their own mess and expecting applause. This meta-commentary feels less like clever subversion and more like an excuse to avoid deeper storytelling.
The platforming mechanics are well-implemented and smooth - and stop me if you've heard this one before - presenting a dazzling first impression. The game introduces various "buddies" that suggest exciting gameplay possibilities, but you already know where this is going, don't you? Like everything else, these additions feel more like variations on existing mechanics rather than meaningful evolutions of the core gameplay. While competently designed, the gameplay shows exactly the same depth as everything else.
For players looking for a light, visually pleasant platforming experience, there's certainly enjoyment to be found here, specially considering it often goes on 80% discount sales. I will definitely keep this one in mind for when my son is a little older! However, take this recommendation with an 80% discount - those expecting more will find this highly polished surface is all there is to it.
I remember playing this when it came out on the Switch, absolute modern classic.
9/10
This Game Is Silly, Fun, Action Packed and Interesting all at once | HIGHLY RECOMMEND
I remember playing this when I was younger, good fun, although the content does run out quickly, I'd recommend getting it during a discount if anything
This game is quite the fun little adventure game, but after already beating the game twice it does kind of get boring and with some glitches its alright
Yes.
Feel like I should be having more fun with this than I am.
I absolutely love the humour, the art style and the general feel of the game. However I think the problem is that the levels just keep going on way longer than they should. I guess I'm a bit too old for this one and they're just too easy. I can see myself enjoying playing this with my son when he's a little bit older.
I would have put a bit more emphasis on fleshing out the combat mechanics rather than having quite so many platforming sections.
In the end I stopped playing. But I think this does do exactly what it says on the tin and therefore is an easy recommend for anyone thinking of picking it up. I got it on a deep discount and it was absolutely well worth the money.
great game! lots of fun, lots of laughs! someone might think this is a kids game from the cover (my GF did), but it is not
Great game for kids of all ages, adults included.
The Adventure Pals is a straight forward Platformer with very light RPG aspects thrown in. Very quick and easy to complete and if you're into achievements, collecting all the achievements is quick and easy too.
Relaxing game with a continuous funny vibe and art style. I'd definitely recommend this title for kids and adults who're looking for a light heart platformer to chill with.
Pretty cool. Exactly what it says on the tin. Goofy and enjoyable fun. Not too difficult or filled with filler.
Cool game to chill out, very easy combat and fun quests
Fantastic game and adventure, 10/10 would button mash again
Its cool to see where massive monster got their start and see what they would become with Cult of the Lamb. This game is pretty good, although the hit stun your character takes needs to increase, I kept on getting juggled by enemies and quickly lost all my health. Other than that, the game is neat!
HELP ME
dope
Super Adventure Pals was a big part of my childhood and one of the best flash games ever made. It was ambicious, but charming and comical. Like with another Armor Games classic, Swords & Souls, a Steam sequel (or in this case, a prequel) was announced and released, which made me really happy. I've been wanting to try them out for quite a while now and having beaten this one, I can say it's like revisiting my childhood again.
Familiar places, like Treevale, familiar faces, like pet Rock and the old man. Familiar quests, like the stamp or the speedo, and above all, so much more content than its predecessor. There's some things I don't really like, such as the combat which never gets really past its serviceable nature, the deceptively low range of the sword, the ineffectiveness of dodging, the minimum air time you get before having to tongue-copter your way out. But it's all speckles on a much larger package. The platforming is great, the enemy roster varied despite always following specific archetypes, the story is comically fun and simple. It's a stellar, charming game that proves the Flash era can still live on.
this isnt realistic my dad returned
A casual platformer that starts off silly and only gets sillier.

The Adventure Pals follows a boy who sets out to rescue his kidnapped parents along with the world, supported by his friends Mr. Rock and Sparkles the giraffe. In essence, the game is a stage-based platformer with a focus on combat, as you're often tasked with beating up various enemies along the way.
This basic premise is presented in a rather wacky way, with the game's story mostly serving as a vehicle for silly events which take you from stage to stage. In between stages, you're dropped into a hub world, where you can meet the world's various inhabitants for some benign dialogue and/or quests which take you to the next platforming section. This provides some welcome downtime in-between stages and, as with the rest of the game, is mostly used to deliver jokes, which are often rather benign and rarely produce proper laughs, but give the game a fittingly light-hearted and silly atmosphere.
As for the platforming stages, The Adventure Pals rarely presents you with too much of a challenge, with a rather basic but good-feeling move set and mostly basic obstacles. The game does however do a good job of evolving its stages, adding new mechanics throughout its runtime and ramping up their overall difficulty at least somewhat. There are 4 main worlds, each containing a handful of stages and featuring a unique theme with a couple of special mechanics each. Every stage is composed of 5 sub-stages you have to beat in order, giving them a rather long completion time. Overall, I felt the stages to drag on a bit too long, with their amount similarly being a bit too high to be warranted by the limited variation they present. Presentation-wise, while the theming of most worlds is rather plain, I felt that the game did a good job of presenting varied characters within unique scenarios.
Another important aspect in regards to gameplay is fighting, as stages are littered with enemies and often contain group encounters you have to complete in order to progress. Sadly, combat is rather basic, consisting mostly of spamming the singular attack button. You can pick up various items as well as attack modifiers to spice things up, though I felt these options to be a bit too sparse and thus not relevant for most encounters. As the game goes on, your character will level up, allowing you to pick one of three upgrades for them. While these upgrades mostly consist of new abilities, these are for the most part passive, meaning they don't really expand your combat options. That being said, beating up enemies feels punchy and is decently fun maybe because of its simplicity. While your own move set is very limited, the enemies the game throws at you come with good variations in their behavior, with some even encouraging some light strategy in order to defeat them effectively.
As for different ways to play, The Adventure Pals also offers extra stages in the form of arenas, which task you with defeating multiple waves of enemies. This is decently fun, but once again tarnished somewhat by the basic combat system. Besides that, there are also a number of collectibles spread throughout the game's stages and hub worlds, unlocking cosmetic items and giving some nice incentives to explore and replay stages. The latter is even further supported by the existence of a timer and rating system present, challenging those who enjoy it to improve their high scores.
The entire game can also be played with a second player in local coop, which I found to make for a really fun time. Both players are equal in their abilities, with the presence of player two essentially being ignored for any dialogue, cutscenes and so on. The game also becomes even easier when playing coop, as a dead player can infinitely revive themselves provided the other one stays alive for a few seconds.
The Adventure Pals' visuals match its overall vibe, being quite cartoonish and silly looking. Similarly, animations as well as visual and sound effects fit right in with the goofy tone of the game. As for the Soundtrack, it fits well with the different areas and even features a couple of decently catchy tracks.

Overall, I had a good time playing through The Adventure Pals with a friend. While it doesn't reinvent the wheel, the game makes for a decent distraction that kept us well-entertained.
VARY FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D
