I enjoyed it
There's no 1vs1, everything attacks you in multiples. See a single wolf or scavenger? There's gonna be 5 out of sight ready to beat you to death. Try cheap trick and climb on a rock to shoot them? Sabertooth will go inside the rock and kill you from there anyway,

good shit
My favorite game in the franchise, and I'm 100% serious. The combat can be frustrating, and the lag annoying, but the world feels lively, the quests are fun and not super repetitive like in other RPGs, and there is a lot to explore in the huge world, that basically lets you go wherever you please. One of the best open world RPGs, in my opinion.
Best Game Ever!
Oldschool, Community patch is a must
My favorite part along side with G1
For me it was simply impossible to play the game out of the box due to numerous freezes, quit outs and crashes. I installed the community mods to fix the issues, and it was still crashing. I will not recommend a game that is basically broken on modern hardware (especially since the original 1 and 2 games are working flawlessly). Not to mention that they've hiked the price without fixing it. To anyone who loved the first two games, just stay away - I played this game 10 years ago, and it wasn't worth it then and its definitely not worth it now.
Not the worst continuation of the previous parts
Gothic 3 is a continuation of the story from the previous parts of Gothic. Nameless, along with a group of his companions, ends up in Myrtana, which is taken over by orcs. The main goal of the hero is to find Xardas. As the main character we have many options for development. We can support the rebels in the fight against the orcs, cooperate with the orcs and even collect reputation with the assassins. Overall, the game is very open-ended, we are not forced to do all the missions one by one.
The world map in Gothic is large and divided into three continents: Myrtana occupied by orcs, frigid Nordmar, where mainly representatives of various clans live, and desert Varant governed by assassins. In fact, from the beginning we can go wherever we want, we are not limited in any way. On top of that, the game doesn't attack us with constant loading screens, so we'll go in and out everywhere without any problems with loading a new area. On the plus side, the density of the terrain, where we don't go on the map there is something going on (maybe except for some moments in the desert, where there is only desert), there is always some building in which there might be some NPC, maybe some bonfire, ruins, traces of blood that will lead us to the monster. You can't complain about a lack of boredom in this area.
The reputation system is an element that is new in Gothic, it was not present in previous parts. Reputation is earned simply for completing missions for a given faction or in a given city. Reputation is divided into reputation of individual cities and reputation among factions, such as rebels, orcs, nomads. As a rule, if we want to gain reputation with one faction then simply the other faction will suffer.
The combat system is worse than in previous parts. Sword-bashing is a torture, and the fights are simply boring. Better is the archery, which is definitely better in this part than in the previous ones mainly due to the fact that the arrows drop, so you can really feel the satisfaction of hitting someone from a long distance. Magic is strong and this is true regardless of which god magic we choose. Of course, we will perpetually run out of mana, unless we manage to unlock mana autoregeneration later in the game.
The graphics deserve a big plus. As I mentioned earlier the game's map is very well laid out, and on top of that the views are really impressive for a game from 2006. You certainly can't accuse this game of lacking atmosphere. Sound-wise it is also very good, the soundtrack depending on the continent is different and also adds something to the aforementioned atmosphere.
It should also be noted that the optimization of the game is not at a very high level even this year. On top of that, bugs where a character can disappear from our field of vision or mobs going under stones can be annoying.
Summary
Is Gothic 3 a good sequel to Gothic 2? I would say no, but as a game in itself it is not that tragic. Of course, it's a lot short of the ideal and level of Gothic or Gothic 2, but it's still a reasonably good game. However, the successive bouncing of cities can get boring and introduce monotony, especially since this is a large part of the gameplay.
✔️An open and lively world
✔️The graphics as well as the soundtrack are really good
✔️Ability to do tasks in any order, the game is non-linear
✔️❌Reputation system is ok, but it gets boring quickly over time
✔️❌Shooting with a bow - better, fighting with swords, staffs - worse, magic - neutral
❌The plot is not as interesting as in previous parts
❌Optimization and annoying bugs
Time of completion: 40-50 hours (The main plot and some of the side quests)
[b]Rating: 6.5/10

ATTENTION!
Please note that this is only my evaluation and opinion of the game. If you do not agree with it or think that the game deserves a higher or lower rating, please leave a comment and I will be happy to respond.
It's a great game, strange mechanics with combat but persevere and the exploration and quests become rewarding. Magic is best in later game aka End Game (though still combat specialist Mid to Late Game). So much to do, just explore to hearts content 1st. Does take awhile to really get good (Wolves are deadly in the beginning). Fast travel, like Morrowind, needs special items, found throughout the lands. This helps alot later on. Plenty factions to help out, needed to advance for various reasons, as well as unlocking talents for weapons. Rewarding when put some time into the game.
Największe cyfrowe gówno jakie istnieje, chujowa gra stworzona przez gimnazjalistów na haju, wolałbym pracować w kamieniołomie niż grać w ten syf, 0/10 nie polecam

Gothic 3 underwent a number of changes compared to the previous games. The second game also has its changes, but it still feels Gothic, while this game is something a bit different. As I see it, Gothic 3 is undoubtedly worth playing for those who enjoed the first two games, at least because you should know how the story ends, plus I don't exclude that after playing you'll have a different opinion than mine.
What are the details that I noticed throughout the game and that from my opinion are worth mentioning? Now you have a new stat - endurance that depletes not only when running, but also when parrying or attacking. With your bow/crossbow you now have to manually aim at enemies (doing it first-person is the best option). TNH can now wear a shield and a helmet, which is cool. We also have a reputation system: by doing quests in different cities that belong to different factions TNH gains trust and if we have reputation above 75%, the NPCs in this city now have green names, which indicates their trust (and you can even draw your sword in front of them without triggering a fight). I liked that you can get a companion to fight with you - that's a lot of help in the beginning. In this game you can also complete a quest without getting it first and then just take your reward right away (like killing some wolves in a cave you accidently ran into and then discovered there's a quest related to cleaning up this cave). The map (a kingdom of Myrthana) is not small and it's good that you have teleport stones for cities you visit - a fast travel feature. One of the things that frustrated me was a poor companions' AI when it comes to following you sometimes - they always stuck somewhere (but only sometimes). Also, I don't know if it was a bug, but in the desert when I tried to open a temple with the keys, there was a combat sound every time when I'm close enough to the building, and you can't open it while in combat (a way out was sneaking to the doors). Similar to Gothic 2 where you could loot someone's chest or attack and rob someone, then cast a spell that makes them forget and thus you don't ruin your relationship with them, in Gothic 3 there is a sleep spell with the help of which you can loot chests even with the guards standing right before them.
The story now has an end and I liked that in this part you have to make a choice between Gods. As it's already been said in the beginning, the game is must-play if you're a Gothic 1 and 2 sympathiser. In spite of the fact that for me the game felt a little bit less Gothic, generally I enjoyed playing the game.
Disgrace to 1 and 2 treat it as non canon
Not as good as 1 & 2 but still good enough!
its not working properly on my PC
Game is older, but it holds up.
classic
with mods its actually charming. without mods, pretty boring and buggy.
finished
great game
a GOOD GAME
Game is not finished
Low fps, crashes are only some of the basic problems of it
Not worth any money
Don't know how it is sold as "complete"and "finished" product
A classic - look for all the community mods
I don't have enough words to describe the nostalgia and pleasure i am getting from playing this game after so many years.I enhanced visuals with a little modding and it felt like pure gold .One of my favorite games of all time!
Good game
GOAT
great game but no matter what pc or laptop you have you will hate the fps drops
just playing :)
Its in my opinion a flawed gem, had immense potential but couldn't really achieve it, still my favorite Gothic game, I would highly recommend mods to enhance the experience but thats just my cup of tea :)
Soundtrack
First of all: I would give Gothic 3 a "Mixed" rather than "Recommended". It's a firm 5/10.
If you want to play it, make sure to install the Community Patch!
I would only recommend Gothic 3 to people who really want to play more Gothic. Maybe those who got the game as part of a bundle and want to see how the story continues or what the entire world of Myrtana looks like.
Speaking of, the world is beautifully crafted, with stunning vistas, and you can tell that a lot of love and attention to detail went into it. Exploration is what made the game somewhat fun for me and was enough to keep me entertained until the end.
Each city serves as a hub for quests. The structure is always the same: complete tasks to gain reputation in the city and eventually join one of the factions. This repetitive formula makes the game feel monotonous. There aren't any particularly creative or memorable quests. It might sound strange, but escort quests are usually the most enjoyable since they let you explore new areas.
Unfortunately, everything else in the game is quite weak. The character models all look the same and are poorly animated. Enemy hitboxes are terrible. Combat with bows is boring, and melee combat is awful. If you play Gothic 3, go for magic, that’s at least somewhat fun.
The story is very mediocre and barely worth mentioning. It makes no sense that orcs, who were portrayed as tribal in Gothic 1 and 2, are now a sophisticated species. The games’ storylines are only separated by a few weeks, which makes this change feel weird.
Gothic 3 doesn’t even feel like a true Gothic game anymore. The whole system has been overhauled to include more "modern" elements like a compass, menus and a skill bar. I assume the developers didn’t trust the original Gothic formula and tried to copy more mainstream games instead, which is a shame.
The music, on the other hand, is the best in the series! Simply perfect.
A timeless classic for any RPG lover. If you are looking for an immersive solo game give it a shot!
My favorite RPG Single Player game Ever! The only contender is maybe Elder Scrolls.
I played hours upon hours of this game - i still have box version somewhere around.
the game is timeless clasic, despite bugs and such (you need community patches and more)
But, i remember buying this game for around 50 PLN about 20 years ago. now it is 100? Double the price for game that wasnt even optimalized for new games? No sir, cant have that. this game should cost 20 pln (4-5 euro/usd) top.
wait for 75% sale for fair value.
The unwarranted price increase makes me puke and reevaluate whether or not I'll buy the Gothic 1 remake. Richtige Sauerei.
Nice game!
gowno jak chuj
A masterpiece with as much charm as flaws, but the community patch helps alot!
Прикольная игра , не понимаю, почему ее раньше хейтили
Needs a remake, it is so good with Content Mod and Questpaket!

and then we doubled it
✅✅✅✅After leaving Khorinis and defeating the dragon-reanimator, the Nameless One and his ship's crew land on Myrtana near the village of Ardea. The town is occupied by orcs, with whom the population is fighting. The Nameless One joins the rebellion in Ardea. After successfully completing this quest, the hero learns that the land is controlled by orcs and their human mercenaries. The only resistance is offered by rebels, who are in hiding and have their supporters among the orc slaves. They have no help from King Rhobar II and his troops. The ruler is in the capital, Vengard, which is surrounded by a magical barrier and the inhabitants of Myrtana do not know if the monarch is alive.
✅✅✅ I highly recommend these mods that I played on (The most important ones are: Conquest QuestPacket,Quest Edit, Main QP Mini Quests, ContentModBase,Pirate Dream,RGL,Knight Chronicle) If you want to know more about what I used, invite me to your friends and I will answer your questions. More mods are on the Sefaris gothic 3 page
✅My childhood game (I have the game on disc and on other platforms. I love Gothic <3)
✅Soundtrack is the biggest plus of this game, I've never heard better
✅Outstanding dialogues!
✅Good graphics (not great graphics but it's an older game)
✅Infinite amount of space in the inventory
✅Difficulty level (easy, medium, hard)
✅Huge, open world (If you do side missions, you'll explore 80% of the map thanks to missions
✅Extensive character development,
✅Quests on the level
✅Lots of different monsters and nooks
✅Huge amount of weapons (one-handed, two-handed weapons, axes, staves, bows and crossbows)
✅Magic
✅Diversity brought by Myrtana, Varant and Nordmar (desert, natural and winter climate)
✅Teleports to every city
✅Really good price
✅Meetings with old friends
✅Lots of armor, shields
✅Sometimes funny voices in dubbing
✅Gameplay time is very long
❌The combat system is too simple I don't like it
❌Our companions with whom we want to go together sometimes have bugs and cannot follow you (For example, mountains)
❌Poor optimization, the game can sometimes stutter.
❌Liberation of the city looks tragic, you prepare people for the fight (Montera, Geldern etc) and they do nothing (That's why I recommend mods that for this game, which gives more missions and you attack cities together)
For the best base game experience install:
1.Community Patch 1.75.14
2.Update Pack 1.04.11
3.Update Pack 1.05.10 PublicBeta
4.Parallel Universe Patch 1.0.5
Gothic® 3 Review
Pros:
Open-World Exploration: Vast and immersive world with diverse regions and landscapes to explore.
Engaging Storyline: Rich narrative with multiple factions, choices, and consequences that affect the game’s outcome.
Freedom of Choice: Non-linear gameplay allowing players to choose their path, join different factions, and make impactful decisions.
Atmospheric Graphics: Detailed environments and atmospheric visuals that create a compelling fantasy setting.
Character Development: Deep skill system with various abilities and perks to customize your character.
Cons:
Performance Issues: Initial release had numerous bugs and performance problems; some still persist despite patches.
Combat Mechanics: Clunky and unresponsive combat system that can feel frustrating at times.
Voice Acting: Inconsistent voice acting quality with some characters sounding less convincing.
AI Behavior: Enemy AI can be predictable and lacks sophistication in combat scenarios.
Loading Times: Long loading screens, especially when transitioning between different areas.
Personal Note: As a long-time fan who enjoyed Gothic 1 and 2, I didn't pick up Gothic 3 until 2025. Given that the game was released in 2006, it hasn't aged well. To avoid spoiling my nostalgic feelings for the first two games, I've decided not to finish Gothic 3, considering its various flaws and dated mechanics.
Overall: Gothic® 3 offers an expansive and engaging fantasy RPG experience with a rich story and immersive world. However, technical issues and dated mechanics may impact the overall enjoyment for some players. Fans of open-world RPGs who can overlook these flaws will find a lot to appreciate.
this is my the last successor to my favorite game of all time (Gothic 1), but don't buy it for 20$. Wait until it's on sale and goes for less than 5$.
THQs unreasonable price increase from 10$ to 20$, just before the remake is about to be released, should not be rewarded.
Also don't buy the bundles!
