Nice non-aggressive space sandbox with 2d-gravity + botany collect-o-tron, about some round organisms feeding on plants & irresponsibly cross-contaminating planets' ecosystems with seed mixtures, regurgitating them everywhere (they can toss themselves through vacuum like small asteroids - playing with 4 yr old gamer in splitscreen that was sick!)
Sadly, it gets boring very fast.
Minimal game play, and it made me sea sick. Which is not something I've ever had a game do to me. You just bounce around very small worlds eating plants and spitting out seed. I would not pick it up at the $5 price it selling for. Wait for a sale.
Very cute and fun game, it'd be great for kids. Sorta zen
While I'd love to recommend this game, it's far too minimal in what you can do, and in it's overall content. I love the art style, music, and ideas that ARE present. But it's just so limited. They could have done so much more with this concept, and it really feels like they just didn't bother.
Unplayable on a Macbook Pro running macOS Sierra. Start buttons aren't detected and game won't go full screen. Super disappointed.
Listen... all you need to know about this game is that you can flip through space as a color-changing being known as the Regal Giraffe. If that doesn't sell you on the premise here, nothing will.
Shu's Garden is a simple game about rolling around, eating plants, planting seeds, and jumping now and then, all conveyed by the ridiculously cute artwork and comfortable musical score. It's a good game if you want something to distract you that doesn't require much input -- it's kind of the digital equivalent of a fidget cube, something to do while you try and focus on, say, a lecture or something. And that's not bad at all! I can see younger children having some fun with this, there's not (that I've found) any really questionable content whatsoever.
It's just a simple, cute game about rolling around and interacting with things, and it does that well enough that I think it's a worthwhile buy if you think you (or someone you know) would get some entertainment out of it. If the artstyle or the mechanics don't seem that interesting to you, though, you probably aren't going to find much here -- and that alright! This is a wierd, niche little thing, and it isn't for everyone. But I got some amusement from it in the end, and so this ultimately gets a recommendation from me.
Nice meme bro!
Best chill little kids game ever!
Just wish you didn't have to watch the tutorial every time you play.
So cute. I actually don't mind the music either. (I usually play games without music), Only a couple of probems, 1) I can't figure out what it's all about. I hear crashing sounds and sometimes when I go past the glowing white rock I go faster. If I don't keep planting on a planet all the plants die. But what else? What is the crashing? What do I do with the bee? How do I get the giraffee unstuck from wherever it's stuck in (its in a blue place. just blue, can't even see him) 2) It gets me dizzy. I get motion sick and man, this game gets me dizzy. I wish the camera movement were different so I didnt feel like I am spinning with my character. Still, over all its fun for a few minutes of chilld rolling around on various planets.
wow! cant get enough of this game, the giraffe alone makes it more than worth the money haha! seriously a great game, recommend it highly!
This game is really cute and relaxing. The characters are really fluffy and adorable. The only thing I found that I wish was in the game was making new worlds or more characters, maybe even letting people make their own characters.
I sent a giraffe into orbit
other than that, this game doesn't have much going for it.
It's a nice concept, fun for a few minutes, but the lack of content makes the game go steril quite quickly.
4/10 <3
It's cute, and beautiful. My main problem is there doesn't seem to be much to it. If it was normally priced a dollar I would say it may be worth it to just fiddle with. Don't pay full price for it . . . it's a minor exploring game, that small children may enjoy at most.
I can already tell I'm going to spend a lot of time just chilling out and hangin' with the regal giraffe in Shu's garden.
This is a weird game, but it is delightfully cute and incredibly calming. Very well done.
I played this game on Android, now I noticed that it's on sale. The game was very relaxing, now there are many new features (now there are not only Shu and NPCs, you can select which character to play, for example), a large work has been done by developers. If there will be online multiplayer, it would be the indie game of the year. 10/10.
This game is kinda weird, but in a nice way. It's playful, soothing and invites you to explore.
It doesn't challange you all that much and is quite light on game mechanics, but that is to be expected of a casual and abstract indie game.
Don't let it keep you from enjoying the bright, colorful world that is Shu's Garden.
Not really a game . . . but a lot of fun.
Just play as some fuzzy space ball and wander around planetoids while sucking up flowers and catching stars . . .
A nice way to relax after a day at the office. There is no point other than to just play it. Very colorful, very upbeat and positive.
Its a really great relaxing exploration experience. I played it on Android when it first came out, it has certainly come a long way since them. Very cute and fun to eat everything. Love the look and feel of it.
A cool mix between "Aether" from the Basement Collection and "Proteus". If you don't like games without goals, this is not the one for you. Shu's Garden is one of those peaceful games with an enjoyable and colorful world. It's a game you can play to relax, relieve stress, and just forget about your day to day life. A game doesn't need an end and I think people forget that. In this game one must travel and encounter unique events on their own randomly. There is no goal, it's just a nice free roam. The game features gravity, allowing the player to jump to new planets. The music is enjoyable and doesn't annoy after a while. If you need a little relaxing escape, this game will not disappoint.
"Um......" that was the first thing I said after playing this game. It is really rather strange. The art is kinda cool and the music is sorta neat. But there are no instructions, guide lines or goals at all. I know thats really part of the point of the game, but there really isn't much to do in the game and it doesn't capture my attention at all. It's almost like they tried to do what Proteus did and make a kind of anti-game where there are no goals, no objectives, no story, no instructions, and nothing to do but look and listen. Proteus got away with this because there was a sence of wonder and mystery. It made you want to go explore and see the world. In this I couldn't find that element of wonder so I lost intrest very quickly. I'm not sure the game is worth $4.99 so I can't recomend it.
EDIT
I liked the game but I didn't like it enough to justify the 5 bucks.
(I'm keeping the original post unedited for posterity and laughs; you don't have to read it.)
