City Z is the first Top-Down Shooter which has native support for Virtual Reality but can also be played without VR headset. Each "New Game" is a unique experience, since the scenery, objectives, weather and date are all randomly generated. During your missions you may find other survivors who may help you if they trust you. But do not approach the infected, since a simple bite may turn you into one of them.
The game is divided into a number of random missions which will have you eradicate the virus from the cities in the region. Each one of those missions takes place in different cities, with varying characters and objectives. This system allows for new experiences to be added to the game in a quick and simple way.

A game where VR controllers simply don't work. Plus, the player must constantly bow his head in order to see the level layout. Also, if you have WMR controllers and set your height, you will be like Gulliver in a city invaded by zombies.
French translation is riddled with spelling errors and the levels and the narration are confusing as hell.
The author did everything wrong with making a VR game.
A bad designed top-down shooter: the default control keys can´t be rebinding. Many years ago this issue may have been tolerable, but never today. As this product is unplayable for most common players cause it doesn't comply a main of the basic current industry standards, it should be remove from the store, at least until it does. As simple as that.
Worst top-down shooter I have ever played! Can't see anything in front of you, can barely move due to unseen objects, NPC get in your way and I couldn't find anything to shoot! Not one dang thing! I searched everywhere, but found nothing! LMAO! Terrible game!
what can i say its almost like trying to play an atari game in VR. WORST graphics i have seen, some on the worst controlls, even amounst vr games the length of this game and content is embarressing, the camera is a BIG problem in this game aswell. let see can i say anything nice about the game....... it ran it didn't freeze up and frce quit on me or anything.
i understand the retro craze but this game is just horrible DO NOT DOWNLOAD
City z is not very well done for vr. really needs to be looked at in a 2d way, not really one to get motion sick but i was nearly vomiting with this one. sadly would not recomend to anyone.
Honestly not fun and there isn't much to it. Pretty light on content or anything to make it stay interesting. I bought it specifically for the VR support but honestly it's not a fun game. I thought the mission system would feature something deeper but it's just doing the same copy and paste things over again. Gunplay isn't fun, graphics are bad, this is something you would find on an indiegala giveaway.
Great indie game. Very funny Survival mode and pretty good campaign.
Working great on HTC Vive in seated position and running at 90fps without problems.
Nobody can beat me on Survival mode!
Update: HTC VIVE users - try sitting down [on the floor] to play it helps with the camera. Game errors out when trying to run from VR mode - have to actually shut down SteamVR and run game in normal mode to be able to play.
The concept is fun but in VR (Vive or Rift - tried in both) it is a bit disorienting with the camera being stuck at what feels like a 30-40 degree angle facing the ground and camera follows player. This doesn't feel very optimized for VR. Fix these two things (make camera preferences adjustable and saveable?) and this may end up on my favorites because of the scale and survival/missions concept. Otherwise, can't play further.
