Awesome arcade racer that takes all that is good from the classics and puts it in a blender. Additional DLC even adds more nostalgic racing fun to the mix. The music is composed by Barry Leitch, who also created the iconic music for the Lotus games on the Amiga (and many other games). The graphics are low polly 3D, and that works very well for this game.
Unfortunatly, the global, online high score no longer works, as these servers have been shut down, so you can no longer compare your time with the rest of all the players in the world. That's about the only negative thing I can say about this game at this point.
Works perfectly on the SteamDeck/Linux.

The track is some times not posibel and the CPU player has super power, but has some fun.
I really enjoy this game as it encapsulates the way racing felt for me on the Playstation 2. This game plays amazingly with a controler and removes a lot of BS of race sim to make this just a fun racing game thats really easy to just spend a few spare minutes playing.

Unity engine - cannot switch off joysticks so car does not start at race ... Cannot recommend this game because it is not playable ...
Playing Horizon Chase Turbo takes me right back to when my tiny little fingers were gripping the SEGA Genesis controller like it was my lifeline. The nostalgia hit so hard, I swear my thumbs are cramping just like they did when I was 7, trying to avoid hitting every wall in a racing game. 10/10, would relive my childhood thumb cramps again.
Great fun
I bought this game on PS4 and loved it so much I got it on my Switch. When I finally got my steam deck it was a no brainer. I used to love the old racing games on the SNES and the Crusin series on N64. This game is a modern version of those and it doesn’t miss. The price is right and I highly recommend. I haven’t unlocked everything yet but I’m getting close. Love it!!!

Great arcade racer in the spirit of Top Gear. Pretty large amount of content and different competitive modes, both for singleplayer and multiplayer.
Normally not too interested in arcade simulations to be honest, but this one just does arcade 100% right: Addictive tunes and music, a great feeling of "speed", lots of different cars with different handling, entertaining tracks and some fun mechanics - full thumbs up!

This game is a straight up love letter to Outrun. It's fast and smooth, it looks and sounds terrific, it's enormous fun and it just makes me smile.
Boring one. A pathetic try to play on nostalgic feeling. Only music is nice, though too few tracks.
Fun arcade racing
The World Tour of this game is genuinely fun and challenging in stages, but as you go for completion of the rest of it, you'll realize pretty quickly that the AI is absolutely terrible. As you get more experienced you'll stop blaming your own skill and realize that the AI vehicles cheat. They work together to push you off the track, they position themselves in exactly the right spot and slowly move closer to you to force you to brake or hit the barriers to avoid overtakes. As the courses get progressively faster and more complex the game also throws visibility into the challenges. Several of the maps make it so you can't even see the road you're driving on, let alone the other drivers. That in addition to the unfair AI makes modes like Adventures and the Tournaments a trial of patience and masochism more than any level of skill. In adventures, the bots and you have unlimited boost which sounds like a boon, but due to not being able to choose your vehicle, you often can't control the car in the corners and the bots drive on rails. There are also some pretty significant bugs that I'm stunned to see still present in a game this old. Get this game only if you're looking for the nostalgia factor. Full completion of the achievements proves a certain mental deficiency or a level of hate for oneself and one's time that they may as well pick up a hobby like self mutilation.
Giving this a glowing 3/5 for the red hot rage that it stokes in your heart.

Full of LGBTQ propaganda though, so avoid this.
