iZBOT features:
- No underwater levels.
- Fast paced precision platforming.

- Small bite sized levels to keep that carrot nice and close.

cool, annoying at times
Fun little game but it is very short for the original price. As someone who is well experienced in platformers it took me a little over an hour to 100% the game.
The game has a tendency to have big difficulty spikes especially at the 3rd world. The bosses are quite jank and are not designed well.
I did have a good time but I would recommend getting it at a huge discount like I did (90% discount).
If it were not for the price, I could perhaps recommend this to 2D platformer fans despite the fact that I personally did not like the game (mostly because the movement does not feel good to me). However, 12 Euros? Are you for real? This is, at best, a 3.99 game.
Awesome neat little game, completed 100% in 2.2 hrs.
Fast paced platformer consisting of jump puzzles. Fluid movement based on double(or later triple) jumping. The gameplay reminded me of Celeste.
However it is running in 45 fps with drops to 40 from time to time. 60 fps would benefit it very much improving already responsive movement.
Visuals reminded me java-phone era of games.
Audio is a total banger!
Enjoyed it to the fullest. Would recommend.
It's a charming little game and will keep you delightfully entertained for a night at home.
Short, sweet, and delectable. I will check out the squeal.
P.S. Also you get a 90% off for this game buy making steam purchases so its basically free :)
So the thing I have to get out of the way straight off the bat: this game is not worth 12 dollars. It seems to often go on sale for just over a dollar though so that's cool. If you get this game make sure to get it on sale.
I don't know how to format a review and I'm tired so the below is all stream of consciousness. You have been warned.
So with that out of the way Izbot is a solid little precision platformer. It's not all that hard compared to other games, including super meat boy where I'm sure it got some inspiration from but I actually like this game a lot. As for the movement and related mechanics, you move at a nice speed and you have a run button (you're gonna hold this down like 99% of the time) and you have a true double jump (meaning if you walk off a ledge or trigger a wall slide you can jump twice in the air afterwards which is always something I find fun), and there are two different types of wall jumps, the far wall jump and the neutral wall jump (far wall jump obtained by holding against a wall whilst you jump (and there is no leniency on this so git gud) and the neutral is for not holding any directions and jumping soon enough after being in the wall slide animation (pretty big window for this)). Also if you aren't careful with these mechanics you could accidentally just use your midair next to a wall instead of walljumping so be careful. It would seem that this game would be very fun to try to optimize your movement and perhaps try to get your full game death count down or whatever. As for other features, there are different enemy types in the game. Some of them can be bounced off of and some of them can't. If you bounce off of an enemy it does not restore your midair which is kind of strange. There is a gem to be collected in each level and they're just kind of hidden however the designer was feeling at the time lol. I also can't really comment on the difficulty curve that much. It definitely was harder near the end than the beginning though but perhaps it could have been done a little better. This game has 3 worlds with a boss at the end of each. They're a nice break from the normal gameplay I guess but they're all exploitable lol. ESPECIALLY the last boss. The game also keeps track of your best times for levels which is nice. There are more achievements other than 'beat the game' and 'grab all collectibles'. These achievements are just a few cute extra little objectives that aren't too hard to get. They are obtained for splattering 5 enemies in under 5 seconds (pretty sure this one is more lenient than it sounds but that doesn't matter since there's a level in the third world that just makes this completely free anyways), defeating boss 2 in under 30 seconds, defeating boss 1 without defeating his henchmen (I didn't even know he had any that fight was over in 2 seconds for me how does this have less people with it than the other one lol), destroy 40 collapsible blocks in a single level (2-23, you're welcome), and for defeating 20 henchmen in a successful attempt against the final boss (boring drawn out thing but it's not so bad so whatever). It took me I think about 40-something minutes to 'traditional complete' the game (in this case all gems and roll credits) and I had reached 59 minutes of playtime total when I finally had all achievements.
So yeah I think I said everything I needed to about the game. If you're looking for a super-meat-boy-like (most harder platformers are always getting compared to super meat boy when they're nothing like it but this is a rare case where it IS super-meat-boy-like. if you liked using ogmo or the kid in super meat boy you should like this game.) precision platformer that takes 40-60 minutes to get through (definitely get it on sale for a dollar) and you might be interesting in improving your schmoovement or speedrunning then you should like this game.
Funky platformer game about a robot comitting genocide on all living organisms. I'd say the game isn't worth it for it's original price, wait for a 60% discount or use a coupon. Sure it's fun but it's overpriced. Managed to finish the game in just 4 hours time.
This game was underwhelming.
Reason 1.
The game keeps on switching from 44 fps to 60fps sometimes which messes up the controls (probably my computers fault.)
Reason 2.
The controls are finicky and weird. Even when you are at 60 fps. Double jumping feels awful and the movement is not really precise. Even when you don't hold the right trigger button to run.
Reason 3.
There are these things stupidly named "Hardtogetiems" and not only are they a little hard to get but when you do the first time messages from the bad guy says stuff like "They should just call them Easytogetiems" or "If you would explode already. That would be nice" and it gets annoying real easily every damn time.
Reason 4.
The level design is way to insane and is just too much to just go through in one try, (Kinda reminds me of Mega Man and Bass and Mega Man X2) There are a lot of spikes to go through. Just too much kazio.
Reason 5.
The bosses and enemies suck in this game. First the small enemies consist of Bats, Slime Blobs, and Purple Crystal Emus that shoot out green balls at you. (No joke intended but feel free to make fun of this part.) And you have to jump on them but you have to be precise or else you are toast. And the bosses are the same they consist of a Big Blue Slime Blob that gives birth to small green slime blobs, A giant rhino that looks stupid, and the bad guy as the final boss. (Yes, there are only three stages in this entire game. No secret levels at all.) And it is the god damn same thing to kill the small enemies. You have to jump on them 9 times and you have to be precise. Oh, and did I mention that you have to get the Hardtogetiums at the beginning of the boss fight or else said thing will somehow disappear from the level. And the Final boss first starts with a obstacle courses like the rest of the levels but you are being chased by a wall of spinning orange things and the Hardtogetium is in the beginning of the course.
And that's why I don't recommend unless you want to know the story.
Disclaimer:
I don't want to make the devs feel bad. This is only my opinion.
Good game. Simple in nature, but fun to play. If platformers are your thing, then its worth your time. Got it on 90% discount coupon, that's how I found out about it. GG
a great game for anyone who loves platforming or wants speedrunning. this game was short and awesome. and also challenging . play it . you wont regret if you want have fun in few hours. also its one of the few games that i saw you must save robot people instead of organic creatures.
Totally worth it at -90%, very short platformer with controls similar to Super Meatboy.
Two points of criticism from me are:
-spikes are sometimes hard to see (my eyes are bad though)
-level design kinda falls apart at some point, W3 starts off hard and gets easy at the end
why is the last boss literally impossible, mans kills me straight away 66% of the time like im sorry but why tf, the game is free till the last level bad dont buy
Probably good for speedrunners. I wouldn't play again, though.
This game has a horrible game design.
First of all, the difficulty: from levels 1-53 you have an average of 3 deaths per level; then, from 54 to 61 it raises to 40. It is not that it is too hard - other than level 54 (which suddenly requires you to change your mindset and thus becomes perceptually harder) the difficulty was high in a good way - but that this raise in difficulty is completely unexpected. Either you raise the difficulty proportionally, or keep it consistent at a low OR a high level.
Then come the enemies. It feels like they were just thrown there. There is almost never a case were they are really a threat, not even when you are rushing through input-precise stages.
Finally, the shield. It doesn't protect against stage elements (the things that do kill you) - it only protects from enemies, which, again, aren't a threat. What is the point of getting it then?
Got a 90% discount, so I decieded to buy it. The game is allright, a very short and very simple platformer, normal level design and a few difficult levels. Without the discount, the game is way overpriced. I recommend to buy it if its on sale or if you got the discount like me

Nice sense of humour and just overall great game feel.
Juicy visuals and a good variety of oponents
Starts of simple, but becomes properly challanging in the later levels

I got it on a 90% discount and it feels worth it, but the base price is rather steep if you're not into platformers
Some levels are very hard. In few of the last levels I had to retry as many as 50 times
The game takes about 3hrs to 100% complete, so it is somewhat short.
Exactly as the description says, it's a fast-paced and challenging platformer. It's super well made, the art style is nice. I have no quarrels whatsoever.
Great game with beautiful art and characters. Spectacular Sound Track that you will love! Lastly the game can be finished in a speed run, so there is a ton of replay-ability!
Cheap version of Super Meat Boy. The controls are very similar but the levels is quite easier than Super Meat Boy.
It consists of 3 area (20 level and 1 boss). It's kinda short if you have some experience at other platformer games. (~2 hour-ish to finish the game, maybe you can beat this game faster than mine)
I must say it's not that bad actually, if you see this game on discount, go ahead and try this game for yourself.
Poor quality platformer. Very short, if your good you could finish it fast enough to get a refund. You could feel the level design getting better as the game went on as if the author made all the levels in a row and then never went back. Most of the levels feel like they werent designed for running either, because if you were running you could jump over a lot of pointless obstacles. Theres this annoying robot guy that appears in a dialog box to say the same 5-10 stupid catch phrases on every level. Wall jumping sometimes feels bad because you have to jump before pressing away,. This feels weird because a lot of games actually allow you to stick to the wall more so your jump doesnt get messed up in this way. The final boss is really annoying because you have like a 90% chance for him to charge in to you and kill you the second you reach him at the end of the 15 second hallway before him. I dont know why I bought it
A brilliant little platformer with bite-size levels.
Graphics are charming.
Gameplay is smooth.
Controls are precise.
Levels are well designed.
Music is cool.
The only bad thing is........I wish there were more levels. Many more levels, because it's just so nice to play.
I would be super excited to see an extra world or 2 added. Or maybe even a level editor. (Fingers crossed)
But even so, it's still a GREAT game!!!
Everything you expect from a platformer in a neat little package. This definitely isn't a big game. Completing it, getting all gems (although the achievement didn't unlock), and optimizing my time in a few levels took me around 4 hours — and I'm probably somewhere between mediocre and decent at precision platformers.
The controls are tight and responsive, the speed is good, and the levels are well-designed, so you can mostly go as fast as the game allows and not have to wait for moving parts of the level to let you through. And most important of all, it's fair. While you may have to play a level a few times to become familiar with it, the game never just kills you for no reason, and there's mostly no blind drops or anything of the sort. You'll still die probably thousands of times just because you know you can do a level just a liiiiittle faster.
So yeah, if run n' jump precision platformers is your kind of thing, you'll most likely enjoy this — because it's a run n' jump precision platformer and a very decent one at that.
3 very minor things though:
- the bosses are maybe a bit lackluster. You'll be spending most of your in-game time outside of boss fights anyway, so it's not a huge deal really.
- hitboxes seem to be a little bigger than you'd expect. It's something you get used to after a while, but it confused me at first
- the gems seem to only serve to unlock an achievement (which didn't unlock for me for some reason). It'd be super nice if they served some purpose within the game too.
Apart from that, a thouroughly enjoyable platformer that should satisfy the cravings of most platforming enthusiasts for a little while.
