Survival mode is meh, but Creative mode is like Paint 3D for engineers.
This game is super fun, the only downside is I don't have the creativity or the skills to use the features in this game to their full potential

Came back after few years as the game it self is fun but its lacking something.. I remember before i quit the devs showed some stuff they want to add to the game, something like slime wheels. Slime wheels you ask? well when you make a cool car and the surface isnt 100% flat.. your car just slowly slips away like its made from butter in an hot pan... So slime wheels who you can activate seem like an amazing idea to easy fix that!
that bin few years ago... nothing changed, I saw they added sloped blocks to the game..and thought oh cool ill give it a try again and to see how the game is, nothing changed, they barely added shoite to the game in years and in the meantime dangling some cewl features they not adding in front your face..
Dont buy until they updated the game, you can check games on steam if they recently updated before you buy them on the right as it says something : recent updates, or something. I now days check all games that way before i buy them cuz lots are just abandoned by devs
Really good game, had it for a while now. The game play is based entirely on how you choose to play, and there aren't any real guidelines for you to follow. I've seen that as a turn-off for some people, but I personally think that it's a nice change of pace. Unfortunately, the devs haven't been very good at communicating about the next big update Chapter 2, but the flow of community made mods help to fill in the gap. Get it if you want something to take up your time on a rainy day, I personally don't regret buying it.
this game is the best in its genre and has a lot of room for improvement ,but the developers don,t seem to be paying attention to it./ I think the game,s lighting needs work, and overall, it could be much better with some developer attention

Scrap man play it. its a really good sandbox with sometimes wacky physics, but other then that its great
Game is very boring even with friends I feel that the game could have been good but to me it was not good.
I bought this game in early access in 2020 and its still stuck in Early Access. The game is fun if you have friends to play with. The updates are slow to come out and it seems like this game will never be finished. Recommend you skip this game.
its a very fun game and you can do nearly anything and survival mode is fun if you want to challenge yourself and if you need and even bigger challenge you can either download or make a custom game and download some mods and if you don't want to play survival but you want a better world you can download or make tiles and build yourself a map or download one.
a grate game to play with friends and a good game as well 1 of my favourite games.
This is a fun game, when you start out play a bit of creative so you know what your doing with building, when you are ready is when you should hop into a survival world

Really fun game especially survival mode, and creative mode is lots of fun as well.
Only downside is chapter 2 is taking SO long but I do understand it's a lot for a small dev team.

Concept is great, very fun to play and hope the developers continue with finishing the game
Waited all of 2024 hoping for chapter 2 and we got basically nothing, devs don't even talk to their community, really tired of waiting for ANNUAL dev blogs, and then having to wait another 5 years for the content shown to be implemented
TLDR, come back after another 9 years when the game is finally finished and not lacking in so much content like it is now, in the meantime go play something else
No actual content update in 4 years. Extremely slow and unfulfilling grind for resources. A lot of necessary information is not communicated at all, requiring the wiki to understand what to do. Caged farmers were extremely hard to find. Tapebots ruin the endgame.
I love this game!
i played this game few years ago and loved it, but later, there was not much to do... now, you are able to add mods super easily via steam, you can play awesome survival mode etc.
with never ending mods and ideas, you can play forever and create forever.
nice for playing in survival with friends and good for modding the game.
Two of my friends had to uninstall and reinstall and then verify the game files repeatedly to even get the game to boot up. Don't know if there's just something we were doing wrong, but vehicle building (pretty much the main appeal of the game) is a mess. Took us a bit to figure out how to even put the thing together (it's probably a learning curve though, so I imagine it gets better), and once it was built, riding it was WAY slower than your character's sprinting. The thing constantly bounced around and wouldn't stay upright. And it's implied that you NEED vehicles to navigate the world, since it takes several minutes to run from one objective to another at times (but as I mentioned, the vehicles are too slow to even make a difference). Simple things like collecting food and water weren't even explained by the time I stopped playing (1.5 hours in), so we were dying every couple of minutes. My friends and I were really excited to play this together, but it's really just not fun.
wanted this game since i was young finally got it doesnt work well on my laptop but with a little bit better of a machine would work wonders its still playable with the machine that cant even run minecraft but the game is fun in just the first little bit and with all the stuff you can do is a game id recomend to anyone who likes building games or survival games

The game itself is incredible, and has a tremendous amount of potential. However it has it's fair share of bugs as well, that are not that game breaking, but can be annoying sometimes.
The biggest negative of the game is the lack of communication from it's developers, and the time it takes to release updates. Which again, wouldn't be that problematic since creating something truly amazing is a long and hard work, if it weren't for the long time between the small drops of communication...
I would recommend this game because it is realistic and fun and not laggy most of the time and you can be very creative in Scrap Mechanic
Updates slowly, but it's worth the nosebleed and [inexpressible].
Requires an alright but no longer terribly powerful computer, but very nice for getting lost in time as you spend like 8 hours making a beautiful ute with a potato-firing machine gun rearward and then realise that you have Vitamin D Deficiency.
Also has a survival mode, which can be quite nice (mainly with friends), but the early game will send you Raucous, Plaintive and Mad with the crafting recipes and getting publicly harassed for the crime of growing more than 3 oversized Tomatoes.
Overall, quite nice
This game may not be updated frequently but the amount of things you can do in this game is unbelievable. The creativity side is awesome with logic and even being able to paint stuff to make it stand out, Yes the mods make a huge difference but i could spend hours playing the vanilla survival over and over again and doing things differently. I hope this review helps people when deciding whether to buy the game or not!
Its a Very Fun game. BUT the developers havent updated this game in over 2 years so its got boring but dont worry THERE IS HOPE! We just got a major update for pyisics and wedges. Also the developers said that chapter 2 would be out on 2022. we are 2 years further yet still no update. but like i said theres hope cause the game just got some attention from the devs and got a update.i would recomend playing it with friends tho. single player is ok but with friends this game is 50x better and more fun (for me).
the cosmetics are neat too.
(btw the start of survival games is allways the same afther that the world changes every time) so spawn is allways the same.

I can't remember when I've ever been this disappointed with a game. It seemed so cool in the description, the trailers, and even in the other reviews, but my gameplay experience was anything but. The controls are awkward, the resource collection is tedious, and they barely give you any instruction on how to build things, which is pretty important for a game like this. The only thing it tells you how to build is an impossible to control car that flips over with the slightest bump and moves slower than my walking speed. Maybe it gets better if you play more, but if a game can't manage to become entertaining within the first few hours, I say that's on them.
Also it's kind of insane that this has been Early Access since 20 freaking 16 and is still this unfinished. The developers need to quit pretending this is ever going to be completed and move on to something else at this point.
Scrap Mechanic is a very fun game. It may not have the best physics, but half the time that just adds humor.
Although at times it has it's quirks (still in active development) this game is FUN. Scrap Mechanic is one of the few games were the community and devs are on the same page to bring forth such an amazing experience that just keeps getting better. Scrap Mechanic is my favorite place to test ideas, play with friends, and just have fun!
In sum, if you unsure about getting this game, GET IT!
I enjou building mechs and stuff but its such a shame watching it get thrown aside for other projects. the game is fun however the lack of updates makes it a bit less enjoyable, i still like it but survival is just really repetetive with only the office / warehouse to loot.
this game is one of the best games ive ever played, i have loved it since it about 2017, and getting to play it myself now feels like a dream come true
Good game, but probably still needs time to improve.
While I do find the amount of creativity limiting with a strict limit of blocks, this is honestly a really fun game to dabble around in, and feels similar to Stormworks building, except in first person.
Would highly recommend on a sale.

Literally my dream game, wish it leaned more into tower defense aspects and higher difficulty for survival.
They released a fake update that changes physics from continuous to dynamic in order to push the game to the recent tab and I fell for it lol

TL:DR; going nowhere - slow.
What debuted was a really cool concept - EIGHT. YEARS AGO.
It took FOUR YEARS to add a survival mode.
It took FOUR YEARS to make a physics update.
Oh, I guess they added wedges but they didn't put those in survival so for people who play that mode it basically doesn't exist.
I'm sorry, but the game is for all intents and purposes dead. If you're into creative mode stuff, it might be worth your time. If you want the survival experience, put it on your wishlist and buy it when you retire, because maybe by then it will be worth the time.
Great game to keep you busy and kill your boredom, always better and a lot more fun to be had with a couple of friends...

If you dig Minecraft and kerbals you will love this game. Base building check..... Car building check..... weapons check..... rockets!!!!!!!!check.... This has everything my engineering mind wants when playing a game to take my mind off of the stress of daily life. Also my 8 year old loves playing as well.
A fun creative game that lets you do what ever you want as a dwarf on a farming planets that is taken over by robots. The devs take a while to do updates but if the next update is what they say it is than it is going to be amazing. Highly recommend if you like creative building and farming mechanics 9/10.
good game do recommend but i play most of my games with a controller i wud play more if it was supported
Been half a game for years, pretty good build and logic mechanics but very little game to leverage them in. FINALLY there is an update after years, physics and network improvements are nice, but NOTHING new for survival. Don't bother until they actually release something, anything, for survival, unless you are willing to do creative mode only.

This didn't really feel playable yet to me. There's a lack of direction or instruction so it's not really clear what the goal is or how things work, and the one thing I did try to do was plant some crops, but then quickly fell afoul of an unexplained mechanic where you get attacked for unauthorised farming.
Maybe it'll be better when it's out of early access, but for now I just couldn't get into it.
This game is great even if it takes years for an update but its still a great game in my opinion and can nurture your creativity or your logical thinking
