Your aim is to explore the inexhaustible amounts of destructible asteroid fields, spacestations and unknown planets of the universe.
And by exploring I mean hacking, slashing and destroying everything that comes into your way.
Shredding all kind of objects means getting more resources and getting more resources means upgrading your ship so you can shred more kind of objects, which rapidly becomes an addicting spiral.
And maybe, one day you'll probably find out about one of the most unsolved mystery of our universe... the pixxelfrazzer.

I bought this game on a whim and bounced off it hard several times. I always thought it was a hidden gem that wasn't for me. But you know what? Screw it. I don't like this game and I don't think it's worth three dollars because I never had fun while playing it.
Just started playing this game for the first time in a few years, love this game, not a whole lot to it, but stil a fun does exatctly what it says on the box sort of game. Really does feel big and infinite like a space game should, Wish this game had more attention than it does.
amazing little space game. its very retro, but also modern. there's clearly been a lot of effort and work put into the game. there were many little surprises (in terms of gameplay mechanics, game engine features, easter eggs, bits of content) that i encountered within my first hour of gameplay. i imagine there's more in store for me.

Beautiful little game. Like many others, I went in not quite knowing what to expect, and before I knew it, 3 hours had passed. Simple, fun, and addictive. Tip: upgrade the default weapon to the beam asap to get over the initial hump.
best game ever you can make it harder and get new enemys that is soo cool
but it would be awsome if you have more weapon types than normal and ray
i suggest missle and minigun (make the minigun not 100% accurate)
maybe some new ships with more weapon slots like three guns and two modification slots per gun or one gun with six modifacation slots
maybe release for mobile?? this game would for sure dominate the appstore
in other words its perfect game with lots of potential.
A small indie-space shooter that requires almost no disk space or good pc specs. Fun for a while, especially if you try to max out everything you have. Difficulty can be increased as soon as you have enough money (farmed by killing mobs), so that you have hopefully upgraded yourself to be ready for the next difficulty level. Lovely pixellated graphics, small, few missions (that soon become repetitive..), but very fun overall.

It is what it looks like a pretty simple, 2D, top down space shooter with a huge proceedurally generated universe. I am enjoying it thoroughly. I was expecting to have finished it and figured out the pixelfrazzer by this point (about 10 hours of gameplay), but I have not yet... It is on the edge of feeling grindy at this point as I havent seen much new stuff in the last few upgrades of difficulty, but I will give it a few more hours and see how it goes.
welp, since this game doesnt get as much attention and basically is dead (which is really unfortunate) i will now write my review about "space - The return of the pixxelfzarrer"
Lets start with the obvious, the game is not a beauty, but its not intented to be the most awesome looking game out there, well, at least i hope it isnt ;D
A game doesnt need to look good, to be a good game, just look at masterpieces like dwarf fortress, its plain looking, but offers so much depth like no other title.
So does Space - tRotP, but its stand outs are exploration.
You are able to skale the difficulty, and the harder the game gets, more areas and enemies are unlocked, and im not talking about just a few elites here and there, nope, while playing the game you suddenly stumble across clouds of bubble monsters, giant lazer- minefields, a "borg-like" race, motherships of all kinds and shapes, roaming swarms of drones, .... hell, even i didnt see everything yet.
Hell, you can even blow up freaking stars, and use them as wormholes, the possibilities are endless.
One might say the combat is not extraordinarry complicated (mostly due to the fact that its 2d) and he might be right to some extend, but it offers a lot of customisation: you have 2 weapon slots, wich you can use for either a lazerbeam or a standart spamgun. Sounds dire? wait, thats not all, you can augment both of those slots with a variety of upgrades, and combine them for really interessting effects.
And you have 5 slots for your ship augments, for example a simple heal, a shield, or do you want to sent a swarm of killerdrones at your enemy?
Earlier i said the game shines on its exploration part, yes, indeed, while you can always teleport back to your starting planet, you can only upgrade flat stats on your "garage", but this wont do. The game actually forces you to go out there and visit space, because you can only progress (meaning getting your very important augments) when you find another planet, that has a merchant. AND again, merchants only offer you a limited amount of stuff, and while they may refresh their stock, its always better to search for more merchants, instead of just babysit there.
The game doesnt seem really challenging at first, but be warned, it can be really hard if you think guns blazin is the way to go. Especially when the game difficulty gets a little bit started, the game likes to use the secret art of "throwing so much shit at you that you cant even see what hit you". Kkeeping a cool head is key in later battles, and knowing when to retreat and come back later really helps, ESPECIALLY when you want to take out a fortress of enemies.
all in all, its a solid game, not a blockbuster, but a secret pearl in this whirlpool of narrow rollercoster- gamedesign we have these days

Pretty fun, the fact that you have to figure out a lot of stuff by yourself can be a perk or minus depending on how you like to play. Large variety in weapon upgrades.
Note: the basics are explained by the tip system it's just the question you have later that must be figured out.
Fun, light shooter.
Great graphic style, interesting upgrades, freeform play in an open play field, lightly punishing death mechanic, choose your own difficulty on the fly. I'm playing with keyboard and mouse, I bet it would be even more fun as a twin stick shooter.
Lots of customization, manually scaling difficulty, smooth and tight gameplay
After a point you are only really getting bigger numbers though, there's not a whole lot of content, but what's there is really nice and easily 5+ hours of gameplay
There's a very charming game of discovery and exploration in here - I think - I've hit a few snags but I'm slowly figuring-out what's going on.
In my first run I met a triangle who wanted to be my friend - some higsaw pieces who I reunited and some octopus-looking-things which glowed for - well - I've no idea but I intend to find out!
My only grumble is that dying = losing money which would be OK if that wasn't money 'lost forever' from that 'universe' - meaning your progress in that 'universe' was just stunted a bit. Every reload is a 'new universe' too - which solves the money thing but then breaks the exploration thing and
I'm still enjoying it ;0
Developer genuinely cares and has taken the time to sort the isues I've had with getting local coop to work. Kudos on a great game and even better support.
Basic but Beautiful. The game is fun to fly around discovering new things, alien creatures, both friendly and not, upgrading, and again, just flying around. Simple but well thought out. Time well spent and easily consumed while in this galaxy.
Very good game for 3 dollars. This is one of the rare indie gems I always look for when browsing Steam.
There isn't a plot, there are barely any instructions, this game is mainly about exploration, combination, and having fun. You can always fing something new and unexpected, a new type of asteroid that causes gravity fluctuation when you shoot it, or some kind of a bio-minefield that seems to be harvested by lasers. You can equip modifiers to your weapons that you can even combine (freezing, splitting, critting bullets anyone?).
If you like these kind of true sandbox games, and like to explore, for 3 dollars I can only recommend it.

Also the combination of weapons can be great.
Splitting shots with critical damage and target-seeking is one heavy thing.
And a gravity bomb! You'll just need the gravity bomb!
Last but not least there are little friendly ships who help you alot!
...and kick you out by triggering a minefield.

10/10 Honestly! I was scrolling on steam store looking to 'waste' my cash on some game I honestly wouldnt play.
I've bought over 30 games recently and dammmmm I was suprised to see this in the new feed with only one review!!!
I opened it... ASTERIODS... Also I saw that little Minecraft easteregg by the way <3
It's an honestly amazing game worth over $2.99
I will play this in my spare time so much!

Looked like the type of game I would love: Random generation, very little dialog (ain't nobody got time for that), space, shooting and loot. 3 hours of 'my wife making comments that I'm always on that damn computer' later and I'm hooked on it.
$2.99. Fired it up just to check it out, thought i would do other stuff. Three and a half hours later I write this. Even if I didn't play it ever again, it would be far more worth while than the $12 or so for the average two to three hour yawn fest movie. Much more entertainment dollar value to be found here for sure.
It's pixely space shooty physics fun.
You should buy this.
Space - The Return of the Pixxelfrazzer is a spectacular game.
I'm always happy when "one of those" games falls into my hands.
You know, the ones you start of without a clue of what you are doing but the game pully you in nonetheless and before you know it it's morning and you didn't get any sleep.
This game defines itself through wonderful quirkiness.
One time when I was shooting at asteroids for money, one asteroid transformed into a monster and ate me.
Another time I was doing a quest, and when I was done the questobject suddenly killed me.
Space is never what you expect in this game, and I'm loving it.
Add to that the amount of detail besides having everything turn and eat you, and you realize this is a gem.
There's a "wiggle" upgrade in the game, which is supposed to make you bullets wiggle.
But, and I kid you not, the description text of said upgrade wiggles aswell.
It's the small things that make you wonder and smile, and it's doing that all the time.
I guess part of this comes by not explaining much besides the basics, so you're left with a universe of strangeness to figure out.
The controls are more on the simulation side of things in normal mode, but then there's that other mode that's great for dodging and stuff.
