"WARNING!!"
literally what the game non stop yells at the player
abandonware
Reminds me of those flash games i used to play.

space ship game
Good enough.
The main campaign is a little short, but it lets you play on continuously forever afterward, and that is the joy. Being able to try to figure out new drones to try to get through harder and harder situations.
Missing from the game:
A save feature that lets you scum. It sucks putting 20 hours into one game and you lose it all. This isn't FTL, this is build-a-bot with obstacle courses. The fun is the building.
More part variety and rewards per successful mission, you get choked by not having enough X, Y, or Z, and it IS interesting to work around that. But ffs, give me more engines I can use. My drone had to be tiny throughout the whole main campaign.
It was worth playing. Def worth getting on sale.
Sadly the game was not developed further, and is in a way an abandoned early access title. But even with less content than promised in the videos, it's still fun enough to tip the scales favourably.
This is a spaceship construction game where you design space drones and then send them on missions to planetary surfaces where you pilot the drone to do things like destroy space monster eggs or retrieve an item.
THE GOOD:
- There are a decent variety of parts to experiment with.
- There is decent variety in the mission types, which requires you to do some problem solving to design the right types of drones.
- You can come up with some clever designs. I was particularly proud of my lifter drone that had automation allowing it to stay upright. Instead of thrusting forward like a plane, it could move left, right, up, or down, making it easy to approach and grab objects on the ground.
- You can test out your drone designs before sending them out into the field.
THE BAD:
- The heart and soul of this game is the drone construction, and it's deeply flawed. Each drone part can only connect to one other part, leading to strange and unstable drones where every part must connect to the center.
- The missions generally feel really long, and they're often not particularly interesting.
- There are often strange hiccups, like tiny pieces of land your drone gets stuck on.
- Mining for minerals feels repetitive pretty quickly.
- I tried really hard to like this game, but it's not very fun. There is too much frustration in the drone design and not enough fun in the missions.
THE UGLY:
- Drones will get shaky and vibrate due to a game engine glitch and you can't fix this by adding triangular braces.
- Certain objects were sliding up the magnet (when I was capturing them) and causing my drone to go haywire. It was really weird.
The story campaign of this game isn´t that long but boy howdy is it fun to create drones of destruction... 👌
It's a bit difficult to come back in the game after finishing it. But it's really really really really fun in the first playthrough.

great
Could use more variety in resources & a research game. Tickles my OCD & perfectionism. So far 11/10
no weapons upgrade to be found anywhere...
I really like this game as it allows great creativity and lets me code things that murder planets
Mechanics aren't for me. Would love a little more exploration without the passive timers/threat generation, and that appears to be a core component of the game.
Amazing game and I got my five bucks worth in the 1.5 days played it,
I seem to be hitting bugs that make me want to avoid putting more time into it. Sometimes my drone designs seem to get corrupted and can no longer be edited or duplicated. If I save them out and try and load them back in the game crashes. This happens frequently now though I didn't hit it on my first game.
I feel I have to give it a no given that bug. Wish I'd found this game 4 years ago when the devs were still active though!
Just could not get into the super tiny 'planets'.
Still cool game just not for me.
Highly recommend this game.
It look simple but you need to understand how the logic gates mechanic work in this particular game which is not obvious
The design and the logic are very well imaged. You can pretty much built any complex logic drone. Hope this game is still maintained. A version 2 will be welcome
This game expects me to know what to do if i skip the tutorial bad game design tbh (to be honest)
They should make more games like this
As a fan of Terra Tech, and generally scifi sandbox games, I see this game as an absolute win
Too complicated to really hold the majority of peoples interest.
I'd been watching Nimbatus for quite some time, waiting for it to exit Early Access. I'm always eager to play this type of game, like Reassembly. I'm always disappointed. This time I was certain events would reconfigure themselves. The massive constructions in the videos on the Steam store page blasted away my doubts. In Nimbatus the player travels from planet to planet, pursued by The Corp. The story is irrelevant. The player chooses planets to explore. Or skips over them to move onto new galaxies. With the Corp in pursuit the player can't waste time. On each planet the player has an objective which rewards them with new starship pieces. In addition to the objective, planets contain two minerals, a red one and a gold one. Unfortunately, completing the objective, which involves killing enemy forces, and collecting the necessary resources, necessitates two different styles of ships.
The player needs one ship with lasers, shotguns, and rocket launchers, and another with drills, a resource collector, and a tank. In the beginning the player is limited to a small ship, while purchasable upgrades eventually allow for a larger ship. These were issues, but not problems. The problem is that every planet is nearly the same. They all contain a weak ground force (a few turrets, a handful of weak fighter ships,) and some resources to mine. Across a dozen planets I experienced zero cool space battles between larger ships or fleets. Maybe those would eventually arrive, but after three and a half hours squashing small alien bees or pathetic anti-aircraft guns you'd jump out the airlock too.
Unfinished Games of 2024
2d version of "space engineer". The freedom to create my own ship and it has complex logic module to play around similar like "oxygen not included"
The drone building is outstanding. The game play is tedious and frustrating.
Badgered by Steam for a review.
Great game, too bad it's dead :/
A bit small in scope. But I'm amazed what became of this janky sandbox game. The captains are a nice twist, and the FTL mechanics actually give you some stakes.
Nimbatus is a fun challenging game with a realistic physics engine and alot of ship parts making a ship is easy but making a good ship is hard there are multiple modes competitive modes with a set of rules where you design a ship to eliminate the enemies ship sandbox mode where you make ships freely and survival mode where you attempt to get to galaxy 4 and gain back your warp drive the corp stole the bad guys are the corp the pirates are neutral civillians are allies i recommend this game for people who like designing things and strategy games also i suggest to make a ship that has another ship that detatches from it so that two people can play thats all
pain in the ass but alright ig, i wouldnt buy it when better games are out there but i guess its better than nothing. I had a fun time trying to make a buncha random doohickeys but i couldnt make super complex doohickeys because i cant see any logic unless i specifically click and stuff. Skill issue on my part.
It s true the game play is quite repetitive outside of the drone building, which is why I recommend the "programmer" class. You'll get almost all the buffs from the other classes without any of the downsides, however your drone has to be funny autonomous: no inputs once you start the level.
This forces you to sensors and logic games to control all of your drone's movements, giving you mush more to do in the editor, while simultaneously removing the tedious aspects of normal game play.
This game makes me feel good about myself. Thank You.
YOU LITERALLY GET TO BUILD YOUR OWN THING HOW FUN IS THAT??????????????
Wish there was a battle arena mode where everything is enable, and your spaceships fight.
Pretty fun and unique game, but seems to no longer be in development unfortunately. Wish there was more content
drone
game good
"The complexity of the game doesn't stem from its mechanics, which are simple and rudimentary, but from its unfriendly and clunky UI. The interface constantly hinders any attempt to do something and feels completely out of place. The game fails so miserably at creating the atmosphere of operating a spacecraft that even the tutorial uses in-game terms in a sloppy manner, referring to things like <
Very underrated game, the gameplay loop is simple enough yet fun and challenging, really making you flex your creative muscles to figure out how to tackle the next challenge
Meh, I don't really see playing it for longer than 10 hours, but it would be a 6/10 game, gets repetitive and boring after some time. However it has good graphics (not the most important part) and a pretty special design and concept. I didn't really like how the developers implemented said concept. I recommend this game for people that really like some engineering, but this just isn't for me.
I like the art-style.
Drone building fun, actual gameplay is sub par and price is terrible.
