It´s a fun little game to play for a while. Can be nice to just kill some time when you dont have much to do!
my fingers are in pain
This game was straight forward a grind with a massive amount of blood splatter on the walls and chickens storming you. You go and fight aliens that basically die with one shot headshot. This was the easiest part of this game. The achievements were very easy going for this game.
Would recommend this game to those wanting to increase the number of completed games and straight forward achievements. Get on sale though.
It's pretty basic, I'd wait until a sale if you'd be interested.
It's a neat game, but why the hell is guy half naked? Dude put on some clothes
Sometimes updates are quite unnecessary, specially in this kind of games
Cruel Arena is a fast shooting game, not much to say about this game, just shooting endless hordes of zombies to earn cash to buy weapons.
I played this game long time ago and i just noticed that this game has been updated with new models making it like a different game, in my opinion the first hand draw alike design was way better than the actual one *ehemm horrible*.
Pros:
- I just got trading cards again for playing it lol
Cons:
- Visual rework instead adding more enemies / content (currently just 2 different enemies)
- Still no pause button, if you accidentally press [esc] you will reset the game, so rip
[*]Turns boring after 5 mins of gameplay
Final Rating:
🌟☆☆☆☆
please add you to choose the character's weapon in map editor mode
This game showed me why its always good to have a black face with big pink lips as your main protagonist.
blood more blood
Not Bad cyka
When I decided to start this game, I was dead set on giving it a negative review, purely out of spite towards the player character's poop eating grin. However, after completing it (defined as getting all the achievements, which took only a little over an hour), I realized that would've been seriously unfair. Road Madness, the similarly priced offering I reviewed previously, provided me with some indispensable context here that made this turnaround possible.
Cruel Arena has few features (it barely has a main menu), but they are complete. There are no game-breaking bugs. The controls are tight and responsive. The combat actually works. The performance is pretty good (aside from a terrible issue when a lot of enemies die at the same time; something to do with the gore animation, I'd guess). The game is longer than a few minutes, and on top of that, has some replay value. It has decent balance and weapon design. The doodle graphics, while subpar, are legible and work well within the game's format. And above anything else, the game is surprisingly fun, even if it's unlikely anyone would play it for more than an hour.
None of the above positives can honestly be said about Road Madness. Writing this comparison (...this whole review) drove home for me how huge the variances in quality are in the rock bottom price tier - something that I occasionally need to be reminded of. I imagine the average consumer doesn't care much about these differences, same as they don't care about fifth league football results. And rightfully so, but... without them, I'd have little to write about. The bottom line is, you can do much worse than this for a euro.
I regret buying this game
its buggy and barely works, the *ahem* "art style" is made in what looks like ms paint. This is a game you make for a test in school or to get better not something you give away for money.
The game is very cheap, but probably not even worth it at this price. There are 4 types of enemies, 7 weapons and 5 levels. There are no options other than mute or unmute sound. The game plays exactly the same as the Madness and Thing Thing series of flash games, but is less polished and has less depth. Rather than playing this game, you'd be better off playing one of those games.
You can do all the achievements in about 10 minutes though if you just buy the Rocket Launcher ASAP.

Enjoyed it for about 10 minutes, if that. Can't say I won't play it again though. Wasn't bad, but felt limited. Thing Thing comparisons are pretty accurate, which I found out later and now feel less favorable to this title. Also, you get the rocket launcher, you're a god, removing much of the strategy that existed prior to unleashing that beast in the arsenal.
Appreciate the hand drawn artwork, really dig the music/score, ideas are good but purchasing/equipping could use with one less click of the keyboard, and I gotta say I'd probably like it more if it were a twin stick shooter than mouse and keyboard. Wouldn't mind bigger levels (these three are just too enclosed), and wouldn't mind on-line co-op or arena-style matches in the future.
Only thing I can say (and didn't notice when recording the above video) is the main character looks like he's just short of holding a watermelon with how close to early racist drawing or statues I've seen in antique shops, though it's probably more an accident than anything.
Side note: Achievements don't seem to want to unlock at the time of posting this review.
