I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.
Thank you.
It is a relaxing puzzle game.
Originally found, payed and played this game on its Windows 8.1 store edition, I absolutely loved it. Since it was removed from the ms store nowadays I went crazy when I searched it on steam after years and found it there yesterday. Today I had finished every puzzle and achievement again, absolutely recommended, not only for its extremely low price but also for the really fun levels and animations! Really from the top of its kind.
Well I got around 3 hours of enjoyment from this game while amassing 72/75 Pigs in Chapter 1. (25 levels in total.) Draw your line of gunpowder, light yer fuse and watch things go ka-boom in explosive and inventive chain reactions. Very satisfying! This alone, from a £1.59 game, gets it the thumbs-up.
Move on to Chapter 2 and you have to frantically place your gunpowder and light a fuse before a slow moving train knocks over key objects scuppering your plans... making it more of a game about skilful mouse control than careful planning. Personally, unfortunately, that was game over right there.
Once upon a time Michael Bay made a puzzle game for touch screen devices.
It was ported over to PC.
This is it.
It's fun. Things go boom.
Puzzling, challenging but never impossble. A cracking game - definitely worth playing on PC due to the bigger screen and mouse control makes a big difference.
It looked like an interesting puzzle game, time to think, time to find solutions.
First chapter was ok.
Second chapter: you have to click-click-click, time challenge.
Not fun after the first chapter. Not recommended.
An explosive game! Fullfilled my desire to explode everything. Im pleased and relaxed right now.
Tons of explosives and things to destroy. Just saved hours of angry management.
YES YES YES ITS FINALLY HERE When this game came on Greenlight it Looked Fantastic and now its out Totally worth 10 dollars and It was worth a vote so this is not the avarege puzzle game heck its even Better with explosions and kind of like mixing some Contraption maker into it if you know what that is Great puzzle game
Would Play again 10/10
While I've only played for about half an hour at this point, I'm having a blast with Gunpowder. Even gave the hubby a laugh when he asked: "What are the pigs?" "Well, those are the bag guy's piggy banks." "Why are you blowing them up?" "So he can't finance his world take-over plans, of course!"
I'm enjoying the puzzles. They start simple to learn the mechanics, then increase in difficulty at a good rate. They aren't so difficult that I pull my hair out, but neither to I always get best time + 3 piggies on the first try.
My only gripe with Gunpowder: the sound! I like to keep background/environment sound on while playing games but at a minimal level, with sound effects just above that. Gunpowder is an all-or-nothing setup for sound, and I was nearly blown out of my chair when it started up! The default volume was WAY too high! Even the sound effects were blasting. So that I had some game sound, I had to turn my system volume and speakers nearly down to nothing so I could play without wincing. My hope is that there will be an update later on to incorporate volume sliders.
Overall I'm enjoying Gunpowder, and would recommend it to anyone who likes puzzle games to pass the time.
Quite a fun little game. Lots of pyrotechnics and nice art style to boot. The puzzles have been interesting without being too frustrating.
Good, fun, little game. Clean presentation and smart levels make it an easy recommendation. The game doesn't strike me as being particularly long but I haven't beaten it yet nor do I feel like I'm all that close. The music could use some additional variance but what is there is pleasant and didn't irritate me. It's an all around solid package for the asking price (sub-$10).
I streamed this game for a couple of hours and had a couple of folks watching. I think the best indication of this game's quality is the fact that I said "alright, this is the last level" multiple times just because I couldn't stop going for one more level.
I bought this on a whim not expecting it to do anything more than help fill some spare time, and the game turned out to be an excellent way to fill that time. The first few levels teach you how to play, without obviously being a tutorial or babying you along. It is extremely gratifying to complete the puzzles; blowing up piggy banks and a safe is a lot of fun. Each level has a time limit which is often challenging, and this adds to replayability. It's easy to get hooked and play level after level.
The music is upbeat and tuneful, this is one of the few games where I haven't bothered to mute the soundtrack.
Finally, the game is polished and free of bugs and I highly recommend it.
Quite a fun game. Although it is called a puzzle game, prepare to solve the puzzles in short time, since some puzzles require you to change your layout after you've lit the fuse. Your score also depends on how fast you solve a puzzle. If you want to get into the top players list, figure out your solution and then show your mouse skills.
Concerning mouse skills: This game would definitely great on a touch screen, since painting with a mouse is usually not ideal.
So far, I've seen puzzle games that are much more difficult, but I've only played about 40% of the game and the level is rising.
