The ABC Murders is an adventure and investigation game adapted from the classic Agatha Christie novel. The player embodies the famous Hercule Poirot in a 3rd person perspective adventure game packed with mysteries. Once again, the private detective will find himself up against a mysterious opponent who goes by the name of "ABC".
Your intelligence will never have been so challenged!
You will have to explore many crime scenes in various cities set in beautiful surroundings across the United Kingdom. Leave no stone unturned when it comes to cross examinations and deadly puzzles!Observe, question and explore everything possible in order to make the smartest deductions and understand the murderer’s plans!

- Examinations: The player can collect information by examining suspects and paying attention to what they say, how they say it and how they feel.
- Puzzles: The player will have to solve puzzles in order to obtain more clues.
- Brain Deductions: Depending on the clues collected, the player will be able to make deductions and find out more about the murderer.

The game had an enjoyable story line and fun puzzles to complete. Like a book, I was at the edge of my seat as the story progressed. Great game!
banger game, even though I've read the book the game still had me on the edge of my seat.
dull and boring.
A rather straightforward game telling the classic Agatha Christie story. A simple point-and-click adventure with linear play, you can't proclaim it does anything innovative for the genre. Nonetheless, an entertaining and short play for the brilliant Hercule Poirot and his enjoyers.

The narrative is well-crafted, staying true to the source material while also providing a satisfying interactive experience. The voice acting and atmospheric music add depth, making the world feel immersive. The puzzle-solving and deduction mechanics are enjoyable, requiring players to think critically about the clues presented.
However, the game is not without its flaws. The pacing can feel uneven at times, with some segments dragging on or becoming repetitive. The character animations and facial expressions are stiff, detracting from the emotional weight of certain scenes. Additionally, the linear progression of the story can feel limiting, leaving little room for player agency beyond solving the core mystery. Some of the puzzles may also feel overly simplistic for experienced players of the genre, lacking the challenge expected from a murder mystery game.
Overall, Agatha Christie - The ABC Murders offers an engaging narrative and an enjoyable mystery to solve but is hampered by repetitive gameplay and limited interaction, making it a more suitable experience for fans of the books than those seeking complex gameplay.
The game is a decent retelling of the story, but I don't enjoy how it's done and Poirot himself is oddly unlikable for being a generally compelling character in the books. The movements are slow and the puzzles are finicky and annoying, and when you make a conclusion before Poirot does, you can't do anything with it until he 'rubs his little grey cells' and figures it out, too.
Great classic game, very much enjoyed
Relaxing and no stupid illogical puzzles
This game is a wonder in making you feel you're way above average intellect.
The observation skills of Poirot are those of a 10-year old kid, to the point you're going to be surprised on how obvious the things you should be observing were.
The "little grey cells" moments are just amazing in a bad way: the conclusions are so mind-bogglingly obvious you probably got them way before Poirot even tries to think about them. You'd think the best detective in the world probably noticed something you did not, but no, it's just that obvious.
Puzzles are basically useless and just there as filler, while also being so easy they're not even fun to solve.
Poirot makes it a habit of commenting every single thing you may look at or tap on, with an annoying pause between all clicks that makes the game feel sluggish and artificially slower, just to increase the total play time.
The title ABC Murders probably refers to the suggested age for its userbase.
The game is a fun alternative for me who don't own the novel and don't feel like to buy the book nor read anytime. However I often find the pointer is stuck and can't show the button to click. It happened many times. I also had hard times with some of the puzzles, especially with the mechanism. The gameplay duration is also not that long (10+ hours of my gameplay is not that accurate since in some times I left the game on to do something else). Because I bought this for discounted price (+- 1 dollar after converted from my country currency), it's still worth my money and I'll give my recommendation for that. As I said before, the game is still a good choice for everyone who want to know the story/character of Agatha Christie's novel.
While the art style wasn't my speed, I found this game quite charming, and fun! The points system was especially intriguing to me, a callout to the Poirot fans who know how the main protagonist thinks. The story was well done in its gameification, and even though it only took me six hours to beat, I loved every second. For a mystery fan, I'd recommend it. For a Hercule Poirot fan, I'd HIGHLY recommend it, as they didn't skimp on any eccentricities of the man himself, and for that I'm highly grateful and happy. And if you like puzzles, there's a good few of those in there as well, but they're reminiscent of classic puzzle boxes, more than anything. However, I do have two quibbles: 1, I do wish they made more use of the messing with items mechanic, like they did with the pen and the allen key. And 2, it was somewhat odd to not be able to move with WASD, since point and click in a 3-D environment is not something I'm familiar with. Otherwise, no complaints, and I'm excited to see more and play more, if possible. :>
Story-wise this is practically the perfect book to game adaptation both in how few changes are made, how necessary those changes are in the change of medium, and how it tells the story to you. The deduction part of the gameplay is great and many of the puzzles are pretty good but I must admit in this department it's far from perfect, it's very oties-point-and-click if you will, for good and bad. Overall tho this is so far the best agatha christie adaptation and I'd say better than most of the sherlock holmes games too, so it's a definite must for fans of the whodunnit.
I have neutral feelings about this game.
It's a decent game for what it is. I felt like a shortish mystery game and overall I was satisfied.
The story is fairly interesting, I enjoyed the various interactable puzzle items in each location (not only "click spots in the room to investigate"), and after doing a second playthrough to try being a donkey XD I found it cool to see how characters respond to you differently based on your responses
However, the gameplay is pretty clunky, there are a few glitches, and (my personal peeve) the voice acting left quite a bit to be desired.
Possibly worth a try on sale if you're a fan of Agatha Christie or just in the mood for a short point and click mystery

Point and click adventure game based on a famous book (keep that in mind if you've read it already, since the game generally follows the same plot). It has puzzles, dialogue choices and deduction elements; all of pretty average difficulty. The art style is very pleasant and if you're looking for a point and click game that's not too demanding, it's a great choice.
As for the game's flaws, it has minor problems with controls (objects not examining correctly when clicked, talking to characters or examining things is sometimes a bit hard), but it doesn't affect the experience too much. Also, there's no in-game save system, but all the saves are stored on the device anyway, so they can be reloaded manually by the user.
Takes around 6 hours to finish if playing thouroughly (clicking on optional objects etc.), a bit more if achievement hunting - in order to get all of them, the player has to either go through 2 playthroughs or play once and restore saves at a certain point in game (I'd recommend a guide for this).
Keep in mind that if you want to take the one playthrough + saves route, the game will require you to make wrong choices (poor responses and terrible conclusions) for the donkey achievement line - so for the full experience I'd recommend one playthrough with your preffered choices, and then another with a guide.
Conluding, I'd totally get it on sale, and maybe for the full price if you're a big fan of Agatha Christie or this game genre.

I really love games like this, they are in my opinion, A fab game for your brain. If you enjoy solving puzzles, Which I do so this game is brilliant.

Some technical issues, especially the syncing of the voices, detract but its a fun puzzle and murder whodunit.
doesn't punish you for incorrect conclusions. also should allow you to arrive to conclusions by writing from keyboard. otherwise great game
What can I say? You are playing your way through an Agatha Christie novel. It's a step up from the sheer joy of reading one. The game knows how to hold your hand just enough without being insulting about it until you reach the next puzzle which are very challenging and remind me of The Room series which I also love. Art style is great, like working your way through a comic book/graphic novel, good puzzles, great voice acting.

Clunky and confusing gameplay, with controls that make traversing down the street, a chore. Inexpressive character models, disjointed transitions, and bored sounding voice actors, drain any remaining charm from an already dull and uninteresting plot.
Feels like it should be a point and click mystery game from 2008, but even then those games are more fun to play.

The voice acting surprised me with how good it was and the storyline was intriguing the whole way thru.
I've never experienced Agatha Christie's writings before & this one has definitely earned my praise
Played the first cases and now the abc murders. Both were really enjoyable to play and finished this one in just under 10 hours. Playable on Steamdeck. The story is good, Poirot is his usually self and the grey cells puzzles are okay, eventhough I liked the way to solve thing better with the First Cases.
I quite enjoyed this game! The mini games and puzzles fit well into the story, and learning about the characters was fun and engaging. I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys mysteries.
