I always come back to this game. It's such a relaxing and retro inspired experience. Everyone who likes retro pixel graphics, roguelite mechanics and addictive games, this for you.
Honestly, it is cool to play for a few hours for nostalgia and the price is really not that expensive.
Brings me back to a time when I'd have to hide the tab from the teacher.
would be better with more QOL such as teleporting to stairs you already have access to, or skipping battles where you take 0 damage, or just being faster in general, but even then the game gets REALLY slow and repetitive after the first playthrough, NG+ is just leaving and re-entering battles hoping for an instakill (which for some reason can only proc on the first hit), challenge modes outside of story are shortened to 50 levels instead of 100, labyrinth and monster's lair force you into either fighting more monsters or pickaxing around them but gameplan's about the same, green goo restricts your equipment to helm and weapon and gives some stat boosts to everything to compensate, just needs a bit more grinding for potions than other modes, the final boss is always grinding for a lotta potions then spamming them until you eventually win since they're just a big damage sponge, outside of lore you're not missing out on much by playing the free version.

Fun, too bad the flash version doesn't work
This is really one of those gams I wish there was a mixed or just `informative` review for.
This game isn't really bad, but it is completely flat. There is very little mechanical complexity and I haven't felt challenged at any point. I haven't finished it and maybe it gets "harder" once you get to the point where there is nothing left to level in the skill tree and you want to make it to the 100th floor but even if that is true the mechanics would be the same and there just isn't much meat on that bone.
I picked it up super cheap and I don't think it is a waste of a few bucks but you should know what you're getting in to. It makes sense given its origin as a 2010 flash game but in the current landscape it is a curiosity at best unless it is a nostalgia hit for you.
Just as nostalgic as you remember
A really fun and simple dungeon crawl game with really nice, atmospheric music. I've replayed it a lot over the years.
If some day there would be an updated mac version, I would be really happy!

I always return to this game. It's a simple experience overall, but that simplicity is polished to perfection. Also, getting loot makes my magpie brain happy.
My one critique is that I don't think there's a viable way of beating new game+ other than grinding out +1 stat points. I tried to restart the game and go for enchanting buffs first, then use the most powerful enchant items that way, but I was still outdamaged by the monsters. The new game modes in the Steam release are also not really interesting in my opinion.
But overall I love this game a lot and I'd recommend it. It's a good game to chill with on an autumn evening while listening to podcasts.
i used to play this game on the school computers back in the day i kinda forgot about it but when i saw it on the steamstore i instantly remembered how much fun i used to have with this game and Im proud to say its just as good as i remember
This game is a sucks
vanilla low budget dungeon crawl but its pretty fun and good to come back to every now and then
