Then Wish Project is the game for you! Sure, the butterflies shoot back at you, but their bullets don't even move all that fast. Even if their bullets do overwhelm you, just press the bomb button. Poof! All your problems (and maybe even the enemies) are gone! You even have a shield which makes it so you need to take not only one, but TWO hits to die. SO casual!
But there's always the chance you're that type of player who enjoys a challenge. Well then, just change the difficulty from Easy to Hard. Those butterflies will overwhelm you with bullets. And you only have so many bombs... you won't be able to blast away ALL your problems! Oh, and on the hardest difficulty, there's no shield. But seriously, who would ever want to put themselves through that? I guess those who want to unlock all the characters, game modes, and all that extra stuff.
Whether it's Easy or Hard mode you want, enjoy Wish Project!

[Kawaii/Shoot'em up] A traditional bullethell genre and system with so cute anime characters. If you look for an easier shmup, it could be the one. Great price even no discount.
[カワイイ] 伝統的スタイルの弾幕STG、カワイイ女の子達を操って進もう。難易度も下から上まで用意されているので気軽に取り組める。とても良価格。
Great game, especially for its rather low price. Easy mode is actually easy (unlike in many other bullet hell games), and normal mode is a reasonable enough challenge, even for someone like me who sucks at bullet hell games. Also has quite a few interesting and unique bullet patterns. Definitely worth picking up for bullet hell beginners and veterans alike.
Good underrated shmup. Cute and funny different characters to play, with different playstyles. Plus it's dirty cheap! It even has local co-op!
Replayability is pretty high too. Although the game is a bit short, which is common for bullet hell games, each character has it's own story, bullet/bomb/skill and enemies behave a little bit differently, so you may want to beat the game several times.
For the current price I think it's a real bargain.
This is a fun shmup with diverse selectable characters and VERY inventive bullet patterns. On normal and hard difficulty, this game isn't too hard, but the last difficulty is pretty crazy.
Nice shmup, and very reminisicent of Touhou. Feels like Junni Jumon, with the similar art.
The game's mechanics/concepts don't seem to be explained at all. I guess it assumes players are already familiar with Touhou-type games(?)
The art isn't the best and the story is pretty bland, but for 2 dollars, the game is definitely worth it. Would recommend if you like bullet-hells/shmups.
It's not often one can call a bullet hell game relaxing, but Wish Project is certainly that. Although shump/bullet hell veterans may find it to be a little on the easy side, it's perfect for beginners to the genre. There are also a wide variety of characters to use with different specialties and attacks. Although the start is a little slow, the difficulty ramps up and soon enough it becomes bullet hell goodness. The low price point doesn't hurt either,
This game is completely solid. Tight, skill-based gameplay with a good difficulty curve in an enjoyable setting. The music and art are delightful, and the dialogue had me laughing on many occasions. Low system requirements and a crazy low price tag, too. Highly recommended.
Wish Project is surprisingly good. Bullet patterns are varied and well done, challenge is good (if you're playing Harder; less experience players will prefer the lower difficulties), each of the characters plays differently and there's a decent scoring system laid over the whole thing. I don't care for the character designs, but that's a tiny complaint (I immediately turned dialogue off, so I only see them in menus anyway).
Wish Project is a better game than most of the indie shmups on Steam, and almost certainly cheaper. Worth your time.
Very light hearted bullet hell. Very catchy music too. Its simple, unique and very entertaining to play.
If you're looking to get acquainted with the bullet hell genre on the cheap, look no further! With its clear-cut mechanics, generous selection of difficulty levels, and helpful tips, it serves as a perfect trainer for those who, like myself, have little experience with this esoteric thing the Japanese call "danmaku." There are also "hard" and "insane" modes for the veterans, of course.
For me, the weird story and characters are what elevate Wish Project from "good" to "great"; they have a sort of "L. Frank Baum having visions in a sensory deprivation tank after watching too much Aqua Teen" vibe, and that's just my thing.
Turns out, it isn't kid-friendly! There is some adult language and innuendo. Tons of fun, though, and challenging enough on hard for most bullet-storm enthusiasts. Easy on easy, wich is good for us casual-type peoples.
Well designed game, came in with low expectations and I'm very impressed. Characters are all unique and have their own special diolgoue with each boss. I don't play a lot of Shoot Em ups but of the dozen or so I've played over the years this is probably my favorite.
A quality Touhou clone. Great patterns at a low price, forgiving difficulty, and you get some bonkers horse business to sweeten the deal.
Very good bullet hell game, considering the price if you're a fan of Bullet hell and shoot em ups you'll probably get a lot out of it. I mean for how much it is, if you like bullet hell at all and are looking for something new why not just pick it up. Fun characters, interesting story and bosses, and the gameplay is very good and solid. I will continue playing this for awhile.
Jeez this game is a lot of fun. It actually kind of feels like an intro to bullet hell shooters compared to some of the others I've played, yet even though the bullets move slowly enough that I see where they're going it still feels challenging to dodge them at the higher difficulties. The story and characters are a bit simple and one dimensional but then that's the case in most bullet hells imo. The art isn't amazing but the style's consistent so it works. Well worth 2 bucks.
very nice game, especially for the price. soothing music, inventive danmaku patterns, whimsical sprites, the capacity to appeal to a wide gamut of skill levels, and a silly story with some delightfully surreal elements - I recommend this game highly on all levels.
A very calming and solid bullet hell game. Great music and a ton of diverse and strange characters. And I'm very curious and interested in the co-op. I'll have to give it a go soon. Thumbs up from me!
Wow, this game is actually pretty neat! Gives off those good Touhou vibes as it's the more relaxing type of danmaku, though still quite difficult.
Multiple characters with differing abilities, six meaty stages, multiple difficulty levels, boss rush mode, etc. And the presentation and mechanics are strong, too What's not to love?
So the trailer makes this game look nearly impossible, but it's actually quite accessible. Unless you're playing on Harder mode, in which case it's... actually still fair!
Wish Project's stages and bosses have cool, varied, and well-balanced bullet patterns throughout the game. I've rarely been caught off guard and killed unfairly. All the patterns feel like they're presented more as puzzles that you need to figure out how to overcome rather than needing to be memorized by repetition. ie, Lots of other shmups have these random fast bullets that make you kinda feel cheated when you get hit by them for the first time (but then you remember them on your next playthrough) - this "cheated" feeling and memorization stuff aren't really in this game.
Controls feel tight. I've found lots of shmups in this style force you to d-pad movement, but full analog control is supported here. It's a 3-button game: shot, special, and bomb. Most "specials" are abilities like freezing bullets or changing your main shot mode. Controls are fully customizable including adjusting how slow you move while the optional slow button is held.
Diversity in playable characters is great - each of the 8 characters makes you approach the challenges a little differently which adds genuine replay value. It also looks like there are 8 more characters to unlock. Character art and sprites are a bit weak though.
Other misc notes: Hit detection is pretty generous, but precise. 2-player mode is fun because the players can use their character abilities to work together. Music is good. Trying to earn a gold medal on each stage reminds me of Star Fox 64. No online leaderboards, but maybe they could be added in an update.
Pros
+ Varied, fun, and balanced bullet patterns
+ Playable character diversity
+ Controls
+ Music
Cons
- Character & sprite art
- No online leaderboards
If you like the internet, you will like this game, both have an abundance of naked bodies with no genetalia and horse heads.
The GOOD:
+solid gameplay with fun bullet hell patterns. consistant FPS with no lag issues for me.
+interesting main character designs
+ each character plays differently and has unique skills and bullet patterns
+Co-op(Local only)!!!! Co-op works good in this game, its not as balanced as jamestown, where you can instantly revive fallen allies by reaching them, but it works like binding of issac where you can sacrifice lives to revive fallen allies if you really need help.
+BUTTERFLIES! They are really detailed & pretty
The meh:
/ the soundtrack is fairly inconsistant and is a mix of good, decent, and terrible instumental songs.
The bad:
-every main character has a support spirit creature that looks like it was drawn by a 4 year old.
-The 4 year old that drew those spirits probablly wrote the story as well. The story is nonsensical and flat out doesnt make sense at times.
-Most enemies & bosses that are not butterflies are either average looking or disturbing
-Some bullet patterns that trap you in a confined space spawn you outside of that space if you lose a life. That is fairly problematic and unbalanced. Is it possible to adjust the spawn points during those attacks?
My wishes for this game:
*I know this game just came out yesterday but if there is no subreddit dedicated entirely to adult fanfiction featuring Apex Hornpickle by the end of the week, I just might cry. Internet, make it happen! T.T
*The horse lady (I think her name is Eve) needs to be a meme now! <3
Overall a solid 7.5/10. I recommend playing with a friend (via LOCAL MP only). Its a silly time that is worth the $2 pricetag.
