good art-style good music and environment sound but a boring game play
heartwarming game

I would be lying if i said Seasons after fall is a purely fun gameplay experience but, what game is if we're being honest? Only true indie masterpieces are without flaws, games such as Hyper Light Drifter or Ori, which this game reminds me of in terms of visuals. The visuals in seasons after fall are nothing short of breathtaking, reason enough to play this game. It really does look as good when playing as it does in the screenshots & videos. You traverse each biome a few times, seeing them change with the seasons. While this is very cool (and beautifull) herein also lies the problem. You have to traverse the same places multiple times which can get a bit annoying at times if i'm honest.
This makes the game drag on a bit, as it pulls some enjoyment out of it. Not enough to completely ruin the experience but still something that's noticable. I was glad the game finally ended when it did, and still look back upon it as a whole satisfied, not only because of the visuals. The music was also very nice, no earworms but an orchestral score that really fits with the seasons. The voice acting present is also suprisingly good and the game tells an intrigueing story. While said narrative is drawn out across the backtracking gameplay, it still serves as a guide thread throughout. the game felt responsive to play and there were no technical hiccups. Worth playing to completion if only to see the seasons after fall!
It takes some time to get into it but it can pass. Despite being pretty short, it has a decent story and visuals.
bear,
Seasons After Fall is a nice little game, a small piece of art. I liked both the graphic and audio aspects. The platforming sections are rather straightforward, and the entire game has rather cosy vibes.
Lovely calm puzzle-platformer, with beautiful art and music. I've played it through, entirely, twice and it's truly a joy. The lack of any kind of map can make navigating the levels challenging at times, but you return to each level at least once, which helps build familiarity. The season-change mechanic is really fun (and pretty), and it all works together to tell a story that is bittersweet and thoughtful.
Platformer elements are clunky and don't have challenges at all, there are many repetitive puzzles and backtracking. But the game is too short to start to get boring. So if you like the visual style and would like to spend a couple of evenings on restful gameplay, then the game is your choice.
Beautiful game, I love it. Simple puzzles that would be great for anyone especially young children.
pretty
Beautiful but forgettable.
It's a casual platformer. I don't know why it get's compared to Ori, it's nothing like it, but that's not why I am not recommending the game. The game really excels in the art and music department but falls flat on everything else which leads to a pretty average experience.
You have four seasons to unlock and each changes the environment. As soon as you unlock the season they give you an easy demonstration to show what it does. For instance the winter flower makes a snowball that you can use to jump to higher ledges, but that is all it does; every other season it is inactive. So it becomes "Oh I see a winter flower I need to change seasons here" So it's not really a puzzle platformer either. It ends up being just a casual platformer.
There's nothing wrong with that. You can just chill and enjoy the story not having to stress about anything. Enjoy the good art and music stress free. But they hide a good chunk of the backstory and the true ending behind a hidden collectable in each of the four zones which I think really was a huge mistake. As it doesn't fit with the casual nature of the game.
Really I'm pretty neutral on the game. It's not bad at all. It's just just kind of "meh".
A beautiful game! The graphics were stunning! Though the story was confusing and the things to do are repetitive and it feels like I am just holding left or right half of the time. Also the movement doesn't feel very smooth. some bugs I found were with the fall stone thing quest. whenever I did almost anything with the puddles it crashed my game. In all the graphics and images were great but its very repetitive and buggy. Though that's just my opinion!
Fun short artsy game about helping a nature spirit mature. Very short, very pretty and without a pretentious long winded story (for the most part).
Beautiful audio design and I mean it. Music is mesmerizing, sometimes I wanted stay awile and just listen. Voice actors did a great job. Pretty visual style. Lack of dynamics and a gripping story. I would rather say that this is a story that has already been told in many places in a better way. Still decent if you want a cozy evening gameplay under the blanket.
I really enjoyed Seasons After Fall! The game’s art style is absolutely stunning, with beautiful, hand-painted visuals that make every scene feel like a work of art. The soundtrack is mesmerizing, with a calming yet emotional tone that perfectly complements the gameplay. The puzzles are clever and engaging, making great use of the seasonal mechanic to keep things fresh and interesting. While the story is simple, it’s heartfelt and adds just the right touch of narrative to the experience. Overall, it’s a charming and immersive game that I’d recommend!
Adorable little game, very fun and great art style
Красивая картинка и музыка, но крайне деревянное управление и монотонный геймплей с кучей беготни туда-сюда с примитивными головоломками
its a really nice story. wish the game had a map but i love playing it.
The game is beautiful, and plays well. The score is lush strings, and the voice acting is well done, never becoming annoying. You can't die, and you can't get hurt, but solving some puzzles WILL frustrate you. Its still a great way to pass a few hours having wholesome fun.
Cute, relaxing, cute. The story is simple, yet engaging. I wish it had a map, but somehow I got lost less than I expected.
I like platformers but I hate dying and don't like fighting much either so this was a relaxing game. I appreciated that I didn't have to remember a bunch of button combos or complex mechanics. The voice acting and music were nice. The story was a little thin at the end, I would have liked something that felt a little more like a real conclusion with the seed char. But I enjoyed the game and the atmosphere.
A beautiful cozy game that doesn't overstay its welcome. Aesthetically and in the sense that it's a puzzle platformer with backtracking, this reminds a lot of Ori, but that's about where the similarities end. This isn't a Metroidvania, and the platforming is not nearly as tough as Ori. Instead, this focuses heavily on the puzzle aspect. And, for a refreshing change of pace, it doesn't hold your hand. Sometimes it will give you clues for things that would be very obtuse, but generally it just puts you in an environment and lets you figure it out for yourself.
From a presentation standpoint, it's a notch below Ori. The painterly art and animation is phenomenal, but some of the particle effects don't mesh well with it. Also, the art is a little low res, probably meant for 1080p. This won't age well in the era of 4k, but it still looks passable at 1440p. The music is top notch and really elevates the experience, but the star of the show is the writing and voice acting. I really enjoyed both characters and they are brought to life perfectly by the voice actors.
The only other minor complaint I had is that some of the areas are really well fleshed out while others feel like they were running out of time and just kinda gave up. The summer shrine in the tree in particular felt laughably unfinished compared to the others. There are also a few bugs here or there, but nothing that negatively impacted my experience.
If you're looking for an artful indie platformer, this is one of the better, less-appreciated ones I've played.
I was really excited to play this game because the art and music are absolutely beautiful but I was ultimately forced to drop it. The game is frequently buggy, with unclear direction and confusing platforming and progression. If you have a higher tolerance for non-linear games, this may be for you but it really wasn't for me
Repetitive and boring. Pretty.
A peaceful and poetic small prodicution that provide a chilled atmosphere made from a delightable artistic direction...recommended for relaxed sessions and for all ages.
A very charming puzzle game. The art style and soundtrack only add to the overall charm. The puzzles are not too difficult but may take a little trial an error to solve. Definitely not a long game, but once you finish the main story, you do get the ability to continue to explore and gather the remaining achievements that you may have missed. There are some "Ori" vibes but without the combat, but again without the combat.
As for complaints, only 3 come to immediate mind...
1. No map can make navigating a little difficult.
2. Some people may not like the back and forth between 5 main areas.
3. It may be a little easy to miss jumps because of the fox's animations.
These complaints are pretty minor, and don't really impact the joy I had while playing this game.
Beautiful ost, beautiful artstyle, overall very beautiful game
puzzles were fun, you got to play as a fox and you can change seasons, 12/10
Yap yap
Beautiful game with interesting season mechanics.
good

Recommendation:
Would I recommend this game? Absolutely. This is a lovely, relaxing game with a unique and beautiful aesthetic. The art style is something to truly appreciate. However, it’s important to note that not everyone will enjoy this type of game. There’s no action, and it’s highly narrative-driven. But if you’re looking for something to chill out with and simply enjoy, this is perfect.
The game’s unique style gave me strong Bambi vibes, both in its storytelling and presentation. The narrative was engaging, with a charming, upbeat tone, yet it carried a sense of melancholy, much like Bambi. The only real improvement I would suggest would be in player guidance. The game doesn’t do much to subtly direct you on where to go or what to do next. While most things are straightforward, a few gentle hints through story narration or in the game world would have helped with some moments of confusion.
The voice acting, especially the narration from the seed, is delivered with great enthusiasm and really fits the tone of the game. The audio and music are also well done and complement the experience. However, there were times when the music seemed a bit off, playing randomly and then stopping shortly after—not a major issue, but noticeable.
The gameplay is straightforward, with basic controls for movement, jumping, actions, and the ability to change seasons. Overall, it felt smooth and fluid on a controller, though there were occasional moments of slight awkwardness with smaller movements. The platforming is simple and easy, and the puzzles are not too difficult, although, as mentioned, better guidance could have enhanced the experience further.
While the game isn’t long, it’s a lovely and enjoyable experience. For the content you get, the base price is just about acceptable, though I’d say it’s on the upper end of the value scale. As the game is older and goes on sale frequently, I’d recommend waiting for a good discount before picking it up.
Achievements:
The achievements in this game aren’t difficult. Most are story-related, and you’ll earn the majority by the time you finish the game. There’s also a collectible achievement and one miscellaneous achievement.
Fortunately, the game offers free roam at the end, so you can go back and tidy up anything you missed during your playthrough. As a result, there are no missable achievements in this game.
Excellent little puzzle platformer. The art style is delightful. The mechanics are sufficiently novel for the length of the game.
Controls can be a little difficult at times, but you get used to it pretty quick. None of the areas are difficult or punishing enough for failure due to control quirks to be anything more than a quick inconvenience.
The game is pretty easy. The hardest part of the puzzles is usually just navigating the area to find the solution. That would get tedious fast, but this a short game with an interesting story.
100% in 5 hours with some mild backtracking just for collection. There's a decent bit of required backtracking as the story / your powers progress, so don't worry about doing and seeing everything your first time in an area - chances are you can't yet anyway. Some would consider this to be a nuisance, but I think there's a certain charm to a tight story taking place in a limited area, with new actions or space opening up as you act upon the world.
I would easily pay $10 for a 5 hour movie I can keep and re-watch whenever I want, so I'd argue that this game is absolutely worth full price.
Also, I quite like the little fox. And unless you get the true ending (nearly 100% achievements), you'll understand why that's not entirely an endorsement. No, I didn't cry a little and you have no proof.
Such a fun and beautiful platformer. While I'm at "not quite the end", it has been worth playing and I would recommend this to folks looking for a light weight puzzle platformer.
Honestly just the move average puzzle platformer I have every played. Decent voice acting and visual style but extremely predictable story wise. 5/10
Cute puzzle game. Gorgeous visuals, beautiful audio.
Unfortunately, some of the puzzle mechanics feel a bit cryptic at first …
took me extra time to finish but thats my fault I get confused. Beautiful game and beautiful story. sometimes it glitches around bootup but I think thats because its old. Recommend purchasing on sale because its a short game
