Описание

Transcendence is an open-world, single-player game of space combat and exploration.

In the year 2419, humanity has colonized hundreds of star systems, strung like beads on the network of stargates built by a dead alien race. But now a god-like hyperintelligence is mentally compelling people to travel to the Galactic Core, and the Ancient Races of the galaxy have decided to quarantine all of Human Space. Alone in your ship, you must acquire whatever powers you can, and hope to survive long enough to unravel a secret that threatens the entire galaxy.

  • Adapt your strategy to survive the journey through dozens of randomly generated star systems. Take advantage of scavenged weapons and devices. No two games are ever alike, so adaptation equals survival.
  • Blast your way through the swarming tactics of Anarchist battlepods; steel yourself against the EMP attack of the Dwarg masters; and pray to Domina that you can withstand the terrifying archcannon of the Phobos dreadnought. Transcendence includes over a hundred different kinds of enemy ships and stations, each with distinct abilities.
  • Loot wreckage to obtain more powerful weapons, armor, and shields, or purchase them at dozens of different friendly stations. Earn unique high-tech weapons by completing missions for the Commonwealth Fleet or by helping the Corporate Hierarchy with their research.
  • Earn money by escorting the giant freighters of the Korolov Corporation; sell exotic ores extracted from asteroid fields with seismic charges; compete for glory at the gladiatorial games of the Battle Arena Maximus; or get an introduction to the Black Market and sell illicit goods for profit.

Includes Corporate Command and Eternity Port

The core version of Transcendence is available as a free download, but this Steam edition bundles two paid expansions.

Corporate Command gives you a chance to fly missions for the elite Corporate Hierarchy Operations Command. Three new player ships let you explore the realm of the corporations and confront the mystery of the chimeras—a foe that could threaten all of Human Space.

Eternity Port is a stand-alone adventure in which you play a CDM mercenary: a pilot hired by the virtual denizens of Eternity Port. Paired with an onboard-AI, you ultimately gain powers in both the physical and virtual worlds. But when a digital hyperintelligence threatens the entirety of Human Space, the only hope lies with the reclusive cyber-citizens of Eternity Port.

Continuous Development

Transcendence is a living game, constantly being improved through core updates and DLCs. The next major release will focus on Part II of the Pilgrim's story, in which we visit the rest of the galaxy, and the realm of the Ancient Races. But we also plan several minor releases before then. For Steam, in particular, we plan on supporting achievements and cloud saves.

Visit the Ministry of Records for a list of reported bugs and future enhancements.

Weird balancing where you could kill a number of ships right from the get-go.
Also looting alien ships for hours for your last system before galactic core is anticlimactic and tiresome.

Transcendence is one of those games that draws you back for another run, not because of the stunning 3D graphics and ray tracing, but for the simple things like character progression, a good storyline, and fun combat.
What makes Transcendence so engrossing is the simplicity that allows your imagination to fill out everything else.
I've played this game many times over the years (since .3x I think?), and I'm even pausing my Stalker 2 run to give this game another few hours. It's that good.

An ambitious sci-fi rougelike with a lot of soul! Crazy coming back to this after at least 15 years and seeing how much has changed.

Pros
- A fascinating and well-written setting with a lot of mystery that I felt compelled to explore further and further into.
- Screenshots don't quite do it justice but this game looks great in motion. Art design is great too with the blocky Commonwealth ships, sleek designs of the Ares Orthodoxy and plenty of other bizarre and striking visuals for the more alien factions.
- Lots of hidden mechanics to figure out through trial and error.
- Great freedom. You can go around building making an honest living as an escort (.. not like that) for shipping corporations or spend your time smuggling drugs, human organs and (worst of all) pirated movies. Or whatever the hell you want! There's many paths to power and thankfully no need for grinding due to the XP-less system.
- It's an awesome feeling turning your ship from some little flea equipped with an ancient engine and a peashooter into some crazy end-game nuclear missile flinging, time-stopping behemoth.

Cons
- Some of the UI is starting to show its age a bit. Sorting through your inventory becomes quite the pain by mid-game, especially without the ability to sort by categories.
- I use fuel even when parked??? I think I got so interested in reading item descriptions once I spent half a tank of fuel. Does this guy just leave the ship idling for a month or something?

I played this game back when it was free. Now and then I still think about it. It's not perfect, but it's very different from any other space game. That's rare today -- that feeling of specificity.

I played much of the free version before it was fully released, and even on Steam. A fun game that tickles that need to loot and improve your ship. This game is one of the reasons why I never passed the CPA exam all those years ago. Not going to lie I was very disappointed that the game doesn't have a "Part 2" yet because I was very excited to recently get to the end of the current chapter.

I feel like the game would be improved by a few quality of life UI features, but otherwise gameplay is still solid. I very much think a fleet addition, not just automatons, would be great, with other AI captains joining your adventures. I really wanted a home base to store my loot as well.

It is dry, repetitive, there are no ship upgrades, your weapon permanantly turns off when your reactor overloads, forcing you to turn it back on rather than just stopping firing. And the economy is wonky; half your loot can only be sold to a specific geezer who in turn only buys a specific amount of said loot.

Exploration is cracked as well, with the stargates in weird positions, and your sensor range pretty low so you gotta go through the real boring grind of meandering across the entire system every single time to find the gate.

It's not the worst game in the world, by any stretch. But.

- It runs at 30 fps and that fps is tied to the animations etc, so it's stuck there permanently
- The keybinds are horrid, and though it may be possible to edit them via an xml file, it's not populated by default so you'd need to know the correct parameters. In-game keybind config simply does not work.
- There is no options menu. No way to turn down the music (just off), no way to change resolution, screen mode, graphics, nothing. For a game 20 years in development, yeah I expected more here.
- This shouldn't be a negative, but it feels like the game Tyrian except you can go in all directions. Enemy space stations are easily dispatched with your starter ship, and enemy ships are mostly just cannon fodder and die in one or two hits. I guess the game was originally intended as a roguelike - it shows.
- As far as I've seen, there's only one active weapon slot pr ship, no matter how big it is. Boring.
- The whole fuel system is terrible. Fuel seems to get spent even if you are docked - that's just bad design. It gets better later on with fuel efficiency and larger reactors, but with apparently no way of fuel scooping (there was one, but the dev removed it), it will always be an annoyance.

At 50% off, it's good enough for killing a few hours, and the visuals aren't terrible (apart from the atrocious 30 fps cap). Music is decent too, but far too loud and with no way of turning it down.

May be best to download this one for free (full game, minus expansions). I did, played it for a bit and thought it was good enough for a 50% purchase, but eh, not really.
