I haven't been using the Space Engine for many hours, but everytime I have been using it, I was very happy with the performance, and accuracy. For anyone interested in astronomy, the Space Engine is a worthy, practical and fun tool to explore space. It's also impressively up-to-date when it comes to incorporating recent observations in astronomy.
I like how it presents the gravitational lensing effect.
And the HDR mode working so well
this game is pretty cool its just the whole universe and you can explore it.
This game is VERY interesting, and in depth, definitely something you should dig into if you're interested in space travel and learning about the universe! :)
While I never have the time to play this anymore I always distinctly remember my first time playing. I booted up the game in VR, went to the moon's surface, and landed in one of the craters while facing the direction of the sun. I then spend the next 30 minutes walking up the side of the crater at walking speed taking in the breathless view as I slowly climbed up the edge to see a beautiful reveal of the sun as I crept up the side of the crater. It's an absolutely wonderful piece of software to experiment with and it shows you just how small we are in the grand scheme of existence and life itself.
Other than goofy river generation into oceans, this game is actually beatiful. no words can describe it. i went in VR on a ecslipe without sunglasses. i really want you to try this game. its just beatiful
This is not really a game. It is a simulation of the entire observable universe that you can explore. On a 2d flat screen it is impressive but if you want to make extremely realistic try it in VR. Your mind will be blown and nothing will ever be the same again. Traveling from from galaxy to galaxy to search for planets with life or other beautiful features is sublime. Whoever created this software is a hero because there is nothing else out there that comes close to Space Engine.
Amazing game! Incredible models of real-life objects and the procedurally-generated objects are almost just as good! It is so surreal to just fly into random galaxies and then see the beautiful planets it has to offer! Just mesmerising graphics even with a core GPU it probably still plays just as good! I would rate this game an 8.7/10 as there is a few minor bugs, but that doesn't affect gameplay too much.
This is a true simulation. It has everything including oval shaped suns, billions and billions of galaxies, of which you can view any sun, any planet within each solar system.
You can speed up time and watch binary stars orbit each other.
Really really cool and realistic and would recommend to play, only $30.00 or something.
I highly recommend SpaceEngine! SpaceEngine got me into exploring our universe. A better use of your time than first person shooters!
Love space engine so much I was in a community for years called the "space engine wiki." At first, we would find planets and write about what kinds of people could live on them, but as time went on, we started focusing more on the people.
The wiki's new name is amaranth legacy and I still use space engine for the images of the worlds I write about. So yeah, thanks space engine for letting us create a community of world builders and writers!

This game lets us explore space and everything around us in a massive scale. It is a huge game if you think about it. You can travel the stars, planets, galaxies, and the end of the universe, etc. Its a cool game to explore on.

Anyone interested in Space Engine should keep in mind this one fact: This is NOT a game, it is a universe rendering software and planetarium. The whole point of the application is to either: A. Explore high resolution real and randomly-generated deep-space structures for fun, or B. Use this software for photography and/or cinematography of deep space. Regardless, if you have a deep passion for astronomy in any capacity, this is something you should consider picking up, because Space Engine is (to my knowledge) the only publicly available 1:1-scale simulation of the universe.

Would I recommend this "game" to other players? No.
Not just to other players. I would recommend it to all humans. And not just to all humans, but also to all the politicians in the world. This amazing voyage through the Universe has the power to bring people back to Earth from their high horses and restore their lost humility.
We humans will most certainly never physically land on any planet outside our solar system, but with this masterpiece, Vladimir Romanyuk has given us a wonderful tool to do so, at least in our daydreaming. Thank you so much, and thank you for your altruism. This creation of yours is worth far more than the price it’s sold for.

Unparalleled exploration and expansive world. The graphics are incredible.
This is still, by far, one of the most technically impressive applications ever made, you literally have the whole universe in the palm of your hands. It's not even an exaggeration, you literally just do have the whole universe at your disposal. It is not a game in the traditional sense, as it's more a sandbox for you to do with as you please.
The Free HD DLCs can make the Solar System we know look crisp and real, and the VR Mode, while difficult to get a grasp of, can really make you feel like an explorer of the stars. It's best use is as a writer and worldbuilder for space-faring stories. The HD packs help for when you are mapping on a planetary surface from space trying to decide what goes where. And the view of any galaxy you want in the universe can mean you can make maps of an entire galaxy. It is as much an exploration software, as a writing & worldbuilding aide, and it's very good as both.
I've never been certain if PRO is worth the price, added ontop of the price you pay in terms of content. But I bought PRO to support development of this program. It's just that impressive & helpful (Especially for writing & worldbuilding Space-faring Stories) that it felt worth it to support development alone.
Great game for space lover's. Vast diverse space with real planet's, Stars, BLACK HOLES. I recommend this game
i don't know much about space but its really fun to just look around the universe and you don't need an amazing pc. 10/10 would recommend
I've been using this software for years since when the free version was avaiable.
Great software, no doubt, but the creator is making simple things complicated AF.
You need to put less useless settings, a easier to use HUD and fix the search filters. The game itself is great but settings and functions are to delete and remake from zero in my opinion.
I'm sure people don't care if there are 100 colors avaiable for the HUD, or a "flight mode/aircraft mode" camera movement.
The most important thing is not being stuck in the menù for an hour trying to fix weird settings, easily find what you're looking for, and enjoy the view.
Make a simple and clear options menù, remove useless settings and make it simple man, that's all.

Absolutely beautiful game. I actually paid full price for this game (not on sale) but don't have any regrets. Procedurally generated universe goes SO hard.
Really good game if you just wanna fly around and explore space. The game itself doesn't require the best of PCs either so it's very nice.
Richly detailed, expansive, procedurally generated, realism-focused viewing glass into the cosmos.
There have been intense moments where I would swoosh out of the milky way at thousands of lightyears per second, only to be confronted by the camera slowly adapting to the darkness of the void, countless tiny specks, each a galaxy, twinkling before me, both real discovered galaxies and procedurally generated ones to populate the unknown stretches of space.
Then there's that moment, looking behind me, where I am feeling the vertigo of seeing the entire milky way, its spiral structure clear as day, staring at me, titanic in size compared to me, and yet here I am floating above it all, like I'm skydiving in the universe and I really feel like I should be falling back down, lest I float into the void for good.
Other times, I'm going around, finding new systems, looking for interesting stars, planets, you name it. Each and every one of them having full scientific explanations as to their class, their physical properties, atmosphere, temperature, whether life exists on it. I land on a planet, and see rivers, mountains, seas, lakes forming before me. I see alien landscapes, one of trillions, stretching before my eyes, and stars completely unlike our sun rising and setting over it.
Somehow, approaching black holes incites a feeling of fear in my stomach as I watch the light bend around them, going deeper and deeper, past the event horizon, looking up and seeing all light that would ever enter the black hole race past you at such high speeds that everything blue-shifts. It feels strange, like you're in some kind of unfathomable danger, witnessing events no being should ever witness and escape from. Sometimes you briefly forget you're in a simulation, and just stare in awe at the universe staring back at you, before remembering that escape is trivial in here.
Anyway, cool game!
I used this lot back when it was free, it's more of a proper simulator and not a game but it really makes you ponder reality and while most of the stars, planets, galaxies, etc are procedurally generated it's to scale making one realize just how grand our own reality is. To give you some examples if you don't use the faster time features and travel slower than light speed (assuming the game doesn't crash) your ship or no clip at current space tech capable speeds your computer would probably be on it's last legs by the time it reaches Pluto and it would never reach Alpha Centuari in your lifetime. The flight simulator in this is decent enough to but if you actually want to fully experience the sim you have to do currently fictional FTL travel which I recommend using the regular mode first before diving into flight simulator.
Read in the past that a portion of people developed astrophobia due to this simulator, hopefully if you dabble with this you'd be more humbled and amazed than fearful of the universe.

Dude, this game is Bloody crazy! It's so unbelievable how it can go to absolute anything, Stars, Planets Etc. It's expensive, but it is so damn worth it. Please, if you looking for a space sandbox game that can go to ANYTHING! Please try this game out. Round of Applause to the creators for making this beast. 1000% PERCENT RECOMMENDED!
after awhile of not playing it and when i tried to launch the application it just doesnt run it says that its running then it just closes and i have tried everything deleting the game and steam and redownloading but it doesnt work and my system is compatible i have played it on this device when i first bought it i am upset since i spent money on this and it doesnt lauch please either give me a solution or fix this bug

I have literally cried playing this game lmao.
I am a huge astronomy geek. Having an entire model of the observable universe to scale on your computer is absolutely astonishing. I promise you do not have a sense of scale of how big our existence is and how small we are until you launch this game. Lovely soundtrack as well. It really helps convey how ridiculously large cosmic distances and objects are. I think that's the coolest part.

This simulator has truly humbled me. With the right music, it creates an experience unlike anything else on my computer. I’m seriously considering purchasing the pro version just to support its development and show appreciation for this masterpiece.
Great product, but not for my needs. I'm glad to have read the EULA before picking up the PRO DLC.
If you are looking to pay the 95 bucks to make content using SpaceEngine PRO, make sure you understand their usage agreement.
You have to put "SpaceEngine PRO © Cosmographic Software LLC" in the credits or acknowledgements section at the beginning or end of a video. If you fail to do so once, your rights to use recorded footage of Space Engine commerically will cease.
I 100% recommend the game, however, I keep experiencing frequent crashes when opening up the game; most likely because of my computer. But, I managed to play bits of it before experiencing crashes. 9/10
Space engine has given me purpose, and shined light on my true inner-self. I now have a positive self-concept, and I have achieved true peace and prosperity.
