Fighties

There's a character in this game that fires homing rockets and a kamehameha wave with a 1 second cooldown. On it's own that sounds incredibly unbalanced, but then you find out that every character is like this in their own way. For instance, One of the simpler characters is a guy with a sword and shield. That's it, just a sword and shield. The problem is that he can block almost anything (I don't think he can block poison.) so if you have the reflexes you can block and counter anything your opponents throw at you and take stocks really fast. All of the characters have something that makes them special and able to compete with the rest. (Besides roller skating girl in my opinion, because of how most map layouts are it's hard to use her ability well.) I really like how fast paced the combat is and it's fun to mess with people with characters like Owl, Rabbit, and Ice Man. The only problem I have with this game is the boss fights. They're too long for how challenging they are, (Especially the Samurai and Puppeteer) I enjoyed the Ninja because you have a fair amount of time to react. The Bee fight was also fine, you just have to rush him as soon as he spawns if you don't want to take too much damage from his barrages. The Afro Samurai was annoying. Unlike the Ninja he's very spams out his sword beams so much in such a short period of time you can't really react, so if he's not going to be fair on the timing I think he should do the same routine every fight after getting hit. The same number of beams, in the same places every time you fight him. The Cactus is fine, you should be able to roll past him most of the time. The Puppeteer should be removed and is the worst fight by far. There is no pattern, there is no special scripted moments, he just has two more puppets and a lot of invincibility frames and it's beyond annoying. He's insufferable, I feel like I should get a costume for every character by beating that annoying waste of space once. (As of this review I have not fought the Poison so I can't say anything about her fight here.) Overall: 8/10

Fun local multiplayer fighting game to play with friends, even if its only for a few hours. Even features a nice single player mode. Even if you feel that it might be a little deficient in features, its price more than makes up for it

Mortal Kombat X is the best game in the series. Boobs? Yes. Butts? Also yes. Gore? Yes. Eating Men alive...? Yes. I really enjoyed enjoyed it helped me release my anger towards my stepdad. God Ron is such an asshole, I don't know why my mom likes that guy. Anyways my favorite character is Frosty Man, he's so cool and yes pun intended. He reminds me of my real Dad. Cold, unloving and not alive anymore. I'd play this game if I had some. But the only person who would play with me is my shitty stepdad Ron. 10/10

i love this game. me and my 7yr old daughter play it all the time. its one of her favorite games. she laughs so hard when we try to catch each other but cant seem to. the only problem is that its too hard to get all the characters. so damn hard. i wish they have a dlc for all of the characters. i just dont have the time to do it. and my daughter wont play it unless shes playing with me or her siblings because she said its too hard. MAKE A DLC OF CHARACTERS.

Pro:

Character Galore: This game has such a big roster and each character has some kind of quirk to them that makes them unique and fun to try at least once.

Menu Screen: When you beat the “story” mode with a character, that character will appear in the main menu screen and it’s really cute and gives off a cool vibe that is reflective of how you’re hanging out with your friends.

Cons:

Unbalanced: Because there are so many different characters there are some which are clearly stronger than the others, in few words the game is unbalanced.

Story Mode: The bosses at the end of the story mode have a ton of health and you have barely any, I get it, it’s supposed to be challenging, you dying in 1 hit and having 3 lives to beat the entire game then go through like 3 bosses just doesn't seem worth it. As I found the character collection a cool aspect I ended up grinding the easiest story path to unlock them all.

General Thoughts:

The game is fun, most of the characters kill with one hit so it makes it tense when you and your friend are just dodging each other across the map as the next hit could potentially kill you. The amount of characters and different abilities is a lot of fun to try out and everyone will find their favorite. Overall it’s not a great game, but when friends come over this one of the games that should be played.

This game is a multiplayer battle-arena type game, with over 30 characters to play as. This game has online and lan multiplayer, controller support, single player campaign and a suriving mini-game.

I suggest this game for the reason of cost/value. The game cost 5$ and for being 5$ it holds enough content to be able to be played for a long time, having a nice slew of characters to play as, mostly balanced and having a solo campaign. Get 2 games, 10$ for a friend and you, and have a blast. The cost of the game far outweighs the value.

A very fun fast paced arena Brawler with a large cast of characters. They fall into either a melee or range style of combat each with their own unique ability, I will say that I found melee characters to be a lot more dominant than most range characters just due to the fact that melee characters can one shot all 3 hearts and most range characters need to hit more than once to kill their target although their is a few exceptions such as the Mime character. Its got online and local coop and can get pretty intense. Gameplay feels much like Duck Game. Their is an level editor so you can make you can create your own levels, its simplistic but it works. Overall its a fun little game and for the price they ask its definitely worth it.

This game is crazy fun, and I've really enjoyed it. However, after one day of playing, I have not been able to open the game up again. The screen is always frozen, but the audio and controls seem to work fine. I have since switched to another computer, and it has the same issues. I've looked for help on the discussion boards to no avail. I'm not sure if this is a personal issue, but I just wanted to say this just in case it potentially occurs to someone else.

Gotta say that, I really enjoyed this game. The gameplay is pretty fast-paced and fun, the characters all have their own unique play-styles that changes the game up a bit, the pixel art is really nice to look at, and there's a decent amount of content. There are a couple of flaws, though.

For one, the game's pretty unbalanced as some characters have attacks that can easily kill someone in one hit, while others have attacks that will take a couple of hits before it can kill someone. This can make the Arcade mode pretty annoying at times for some playable characters as you don't really have a lot of lifes on matches in Arcade mode and some attacks can kill you instantly.

Another issue is that the audio in the game isn't very good. The soundtrack could use a little bit more work as it consists of small and short tunes that wouldn't even work as ringtones, and the sound effects are pretty bland.

Despite those issues, though, I still really enjoyed this game. It's no Super Smash Brothers by any means, but it's still a neat, little game to play with friends. Plus, it's only 5$, so you won't be spending too much on this game.

An amazingly diverse cast of characters, with mostly balanced but all fun play styles. Buff/debuff-based item drops (optional), co-op/versus multiplayer, Mortal Kombat-style tower arcade mode, survival mode, costume and character unlocks via crane game... It is very much worth 5$. Worth 10 or 15$ actually.

Edit: Still playing this game. Now I'm trying to unlock all of the costumes. Love this game!

Fast paced smash-like game, filled with adorable characters who aim to turn each other into skeletons.
Battles often don't last over 3 minutes, as the arenas are pretty small and there's nowhere to hide
While most have been recently nerfed, I still feel like some are more powerful than others... *cough*Claws*cough*

Don't be fooled by the cutsie-ness! But 10/10 would take a shotgun blast to the face again.

5 dollars for this and you can get your hands on a great fast paced smash like game! Great pricing and ton's of characters...although unlocking characters can be a pain sometimes

This is a fantastic game! I highly recommend it to anybody who likes fighting games! The price of this game is EXTREMELY reasonable and I was suprised when it was only 5$! Thanks to the developers for the cute and fun experience! !

I picked up this game because i was bored and it looked kind of fun. just to pass an hour or 2. But i can tell you. i absolutly love this game. its simple, fast paced and really challenging. I would absolutly recommend this game for anyone that loves fast paced battle with friends and random people online. Its a riot!

bought the game went in to the arcade on easy. got totally rekt by the first boss! love it! 10/10

To be completely honest i cant find a con in this game. for the cost of it, it got plenty of content. more then i expected and more fun and challenging then i would dare too imagine

It's a fighting party game.

I'm not going to bother appeasing the Lethal League and Smash fans, I do not consider those games fighting games, and in no way does it make those games or this game worse, in fact, I enjoy all of them quite a bit.

Anyways...

It's a fighting party game with fast-paced action and a huge cast of characters that I haven't unlocked yet because I still haven't convinced myself to git gud at the game.

From what I know, there is not enough of a community for you to find any online games currently, I want that to change so I can speak of the multiplayer.

However, the gameplay itself is quite good, the characters are similar enough in gameplay for you to pick one up very fast without needing too much effort, but different enough to make them feel unique and also be hard to completely master, this simplicity comes from the fact that they all move in the same way and are the same size, meaning that no matter which character you pick, you will instantly know what to do after testing it's specials, and more often than not, it involves running and jumping in a bunch of directions and killing your opponent before he kills you.

However, some characters have some balance issues such as the noodle chopsticks kid which is the most known example, and the item system in this game is very un-indicative of what you're going to get, as all power-ups and items are indicated by animals in various colors that are impossible to memorize and are often over-powered as all hell, I am looking at you, shield giraffe...wait...which one is it again?

The sound design is kinda meh, music in this game is almost un-noticeable, it's too quiet in the main menu, and in the fight it's too low to hear, I turned up the music and nothing was really memorable, the sound effects are chip-tune-ish sounds and explosions, nothing new or interesting, it's bland.

The game is graphics are pixel art, now, I often find pixel art really grating, boring and I quietly fucking hate it, for once, I feel like it works well, because the effects are minimalistic and don't take up a lot of space on the screen, they also simplify things a lot, you will know who is who in game very quickly and it's actually kind of cute...I'm fucking with you, the gameplay and stages might be completely fine, but holy shit, the losing animations are just nightmare fuel, they go from cute like the character crying to mild with them being bandaged and having a few bones broken along with a bruised eye to THEM LYING IN A POOL OF BLOOD, DEAD, seriously, how do you go from point A to point Z like that?

So is the game perfect, no, is it good...?

Yes, definitely.

Sure, it has a some flaws however, the gameplay is just fun enough to keep me going, hell, I think I might place a few more hours into it, maybe a hundred or so.

I recommend, if you have the money to buy it (and by god, how would you not have it?) go ahead, dooo it, I need this multiplayer working or I'm going to punch something.

This game is a must have for single and multiplayer experience. Great fighting abilities and Amazing character designs makes this game very fun. Boss is very difficult which makes it very addictive to try to beat😱. This game makes you utilize every characters skills to the fullest to try to beat the arcade👍.

Really fun 1-4 players (online and offline) brawler, the controls are simple and the game is really easy to get into. but still requires skill and fast reflexes to be really good at this game. the game has many characters with different attacks and special attacks so each one plays different than the other, the movement is fluid and the controls are tight and responsive. you can test your skills with bots too in case you have no one to play against.
highly recommended especially with this cheap price.

Phenomenal game. Think super smash bros but much faster paced. A simple must buy with a great price. Hopefully this game will blow up.

Cons:

No dedicated servers. (Meaning, the games you are in are hosted by other players, so sometimes it is laggy.

System for unlocking new characters is kinda silly. You can spend thousands of ingame money and not get any characters or get lucky and spend 25 and get new characters. But luckily a lot of the best characters are the ones you start with.

Fighties appears to be the first game developed by PillowPigGames. What a solid first development.

Let me start by saying the screenshots dont do it justice. The graphics, once in a game, are surprisingly smooth and polished.

Character design is excellent. Each character has wholly unique abilities and play style, which is an achievement rarely reached with such a large cast of characters. This is the major selling point for me. Each character you unlock will have genuinely unique skillsets/stats that will require a completely different strategy in game.

Many recent 2-D platform based competitive arena games dont add many new concepts, this is not the case with fighties. Combat is original and thoughtful, and they have not fallen into the trap of lazilly knocking off the abilities of other characters to complete their lineup.

The price, when compared to similar games, is very modest considering the content.

I highly recommend this great game, it's a lot of fun. A brawler + castle crasher themed design game. Majorly better with friends and online. All of the characters have their own little broken ways of being played which is great fun to determine and have to deal with.

The bosses in arcade mode however can be quite a pain, they can be beaten, either with the moose dude or through immense dodge and dash capabilities, regardless, goodluck and enjoy this nice little find. I also loved the way that characters are unlocked, digging the retro style games guys, keep 'em coming!!!

By yourself: 7/10 (rage inducing for some...)
With friends 9/10 (had some issues with online for a mac user)

A neat fast-paced indie action game.
Not to many players right now in online, only because it's the first day of the release.
Loving the gameplay, graphics and the unique abilities of each character.
For only 5 bucks, this games quite the gem.
It's hard to learn and extremely- or even impossible to master.
(The bosses are quite rage-inducing.)
I can tell this game will have tons of more content.
