I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.
Thank you.

bad
So completed this game, and overall it was the story line that got me. Same as VH1, but this time, a specific group is after scarlet due to her special gift. Brother Hood and white corp joined together to once again save Azuel. You go between 2 different parties constantly as you split up to get this and get that. Wont really ruin the ending or what it is about, but wish they had a little more interaction with this "gift"
Anyhow, game is a little buggy, but you can still get through the game. some grammar issues and spelling issues, but whatever. Its a cheap indie game. for the price, I think its well worth it. Game is relatively easy with the exception of certain bosses. Some bosses will het entire party for about 1500 health while your max health is around 2300. You have some crests that can paralyze and poison and that helps tremendously. Think there was 1 boss fight I just could not paralyze or poison them (not sure if that was a bug or intentional) and it was really a PITA. Took me a few tries to win. Be sure to have plenty of mana restore potions and phoenix downs. I honestly wish you had more selection on unequiping your crests before switching on to the next group.
I kind of hope they make a Vagrant hearts 3, but maybe with less bugs, and a little more time into it. Keep in mind, this is NOT SQUARE ENIX development. So I am able to look past the bugs. Overall, great story line, always curious as to what will happen next with Scarlet and the group. Fun interesting little game definitely would recommend it for a low cost, but not worth $10 $15
A simple Chrono Trigger clone with a mostly forgettable story and frustratingly simple turn-based combat. If you love the 16-bit JRPG genre so much that you want to dip your toes into every entry no matter how small, then you might enjoy this. Otherwise, I cannot recommend it to any other sort of player.
Only 1 hr play so far. It's a real RPG Maker game - nothing fake. Unique story, unique environment, sounds, gots it all. Not amazing but worth it. I like variety more than deep complexity at the later hours.
There are allot of bogus reviews like "it's totally linear". Like many new RPGMaker games it warns you not to go places you don't need to be / are not ready for. Nothing wrong with that. Is a legitimate style. Like I said - it's your typical RPGMaker game and "not a cheap copy of another just like it" ... I like it so far.
This game is boring, there is bad grammar and it's very buggy.
-The screen goes light after you rest. It doesn't fix until you leave the city.
-If you try to go to this area by the beach before it is time you get stuck. The only way to fix it is to RESTART THE GAME!
-It gets very laggy in the Snow Desert and Great Plains. Your walking slows to a crawl for a little bit.
-You cannot change the volume or the key binds.
-There is no un-equipping of crests on party members that suddenly leave you. You can't get them off until near the very end.
**There are 2 broken achievements!!**
achievement bugged not fixed

TLDR: Vagrant Hearts 1 Remixed. Reboot party to level 1. Ditch the factionwar and uses a quest to kill the dark lord storyline. Suffers from same combat and pacing issues.
I cannot imagine the kind of a person that would really have related to those characters deeply enough from the first game to want to follow them on another so called epic journey. The combat is still bulletsponges against bulletsponges, and the same esper system, most of the same beastiary, a similar item and equippables selection and nearly all the same assets are being reused making the game feel very samey.
Seems fairly obvious that the writing has not really improved much, and there seems to be even less of a focus on easter eggs and side-quests or areas than in the first game.
Conclusion: Has arguably an equal to lesser entertainment value than the first, and has the huge handicap of referring to events of the first game that you in all likelyhood wont have played or could not for the life of you remember even if you did play it.
While I appreciate that there may, in theory, be a market for this game, those that did get into it lament exploits related to the esper and magical system making the game easily cheesed through improper design of special spells and abilities and status effects.
Removing local content permanently and hiding from library for declutter.
Vagrant Hearts 2 is the same game as the first one with a worse story and less challenging enemies. It still has the problem of enemies that are easily paralyzed, stunned, poisoned etc. I did not see any spells from the last 5 boss fights including the final boss since I could stun them and kill them in 4-5 turns with poison. If by any chance you dont want to poison and paralyze the bosses so that the game becomes somewhat enjoable the boss characters will either one shot you or paralyze, posion, confuse your party like you would do to them. You would have to grind a lot to withstand their spells, but it really isnt worth your time imo. There is no middle ground here and since the story is much shorter and worse that the first game, I can hardly recommend this game not even to Jrpg junkies.
I really enjoyed the first game. The second one started off so promising. However between the game freezing or lagging in places or the lame ending it took away from the overall enjoyment of the game. If like dungeon crawls that is casual then play the game.
The sequel to the first Vagrant Hearts, this game now shifts the girl with new powers that everyone wants to Scarlett. More adventure awaits, in a new land. And once more the sisters (and their friends) will have to face their inner fears and defeat more conspiracies and great evils.
I bought this game for cards
Vagrant Hearts 2 is a pretty good side view turn based RPG. It plays the same as the first game.
The unique but sometimes annoying magic crest system is still here as well as the frequent party member changes.
I came into this sequel not expected much difference from the first game and that's exactly what I got.
This game follows the same storyline right after the first game, but nothing else has changed with the gameplay or graphics.
One of the unique features of the first game was the Rojak Fragments which were hidden throughout the world and added replay in the quest to find them all.
This game however, has no side quests like that, or at all.
Basically, this is a rather generic but fun turn-based RPG, with rather ugly dark graphics, bad and forgettable dialogue, and ugly character design.
The usual limitations of an RPG maker game remain here as well, which means no broadcasting, screenshots, overlay, or chatting with your friends without the use of alt-tab.
The gameplay is the saving grace here, as I enjoyed the battles much as I did in the previous version.
This is one of the better RPG maker games and one of the better developers.
Similar to the prequel, it was an okay game to play but not awesome. This one did seem to let you roam around a little more than Vagrant Hearts (which is good), but there were still some issues with the characters and the character interactions. I would still recommend, but maybe get it on sale?
