In 2009, we started a reboot of Giana Sisters and released it on Nintendo DS. Giana Sisters DS marked the beginning of a new series of Giana Sisters games, with Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams and Giana Sisters: Dream Runners being the latest releases.
Now we’re happy to give you a HD remake of the 2009 Nintendo DS version on Steam. It features beautiful HD graphics and full controller support. And of course the precise controls, intuitive handling and a smooth learning curve that platform fans expect. All balanced for hours of fun and challenges. It also contains the 32 levels of the original game – restored with love and care to resemble our take on the retro aesthetic.

Absolute garbage.
Giana Sisters 2D is a pretty bad platformer. The character designs are cute and the soundtrack is peppy, but that's unfortunately where the positive points come to a screeching halt.
It quickly becomes apparent just how one-note and basic the level design is, once you've played a couple levels you've seen all the game has to offer, including the boss! Because the game makes you fight the exact same boss with the exact same mechanics after each of the 8 worlds. The platforming ranges from piss easy to infuriatingly janky with bad hitboxes, pixel-perfect jumps, and half-baked gimmicks like the bubblegum that controls with all the finesse and presicion of a flying hippo on meth.
The port itself is broken, lacking even basic options such as audio sliders. Enemies sometimes don't load in properly until you're on top of them. There is a bug that frequently loads in the wrong level. Sometimes you have to repeatedly go in and out of the map screen before it loads the correct one.
There are far better platformers you could be playing instead of wasting your time on this dreg. I want my three hours back. 3/10, not even worth it on sale.
Giana Sisters 2D feels like a Mario game but kind of harder in a way. I enjoyed it but sometimes i did get upset. 8/10
Horrible. Just horrible. The level designs are awful. The controls are awful. Avoid.
overall a decent 2d plataform its colorfull and fun most of the time there are moments the game have very cheap moments like level 7-7 but its also fair give you 5 lives on the stage you left so there is not game over also there is the retro based level overall a good game for retro 2d plataform lovers
