ROAD REDEMPTION
Road Redemption —

very great game
Must Play this latest version Of Road Redemption its like you are back in 90's
Didn't get it. Too difficult. Didn't get too far.
Very good game feels like road rash
Old school Road Rash vibes from the 90s on Sega.
This game is fun as hell, I said what I said.
RoadRash anno 2019 - good
Firing John Gibson - BAD
From the Iconic Game "ROAD RAGE"
This game is honestly trying to become what was once road rage one of the most classic PC games that came out where you are racing and you use weapons and other objects you can (you earn as you keep playing) and kicking the other racers off of the track to make sure that you come in first place and win the grand price and progress in the story. However I think that this falls short because of the fact that it is trying to copy what the original is and was so much better.
I would wait for a sale to see how you like and go from there. I don't think I will honestly pick this game back up in the near future. But it is still a good game to play.
Excellent game... highly addictive
very phone taskstic
Simple but oh so fun. 20 bucks gets you a good but challenging little rougelite campaign and some fun split screen action. I've heard that the multiplayer doesn't always work so if you're in it for that I'd try Remote Play. My only real gripes about it are the soundtrack, which I turned off after a while because it didn't feel like it suited the high intensity action enough. Solid choice all things considered! 8/10
Spiritual sequel of Road Rash, buy the DLC if you want it to be easier.
it has some small glitches but it exceeded all my expections. quickly became my wife and i's favourite game. solid couch coop arcade rouge style. playing on steamdeck
Good game with caveats.
I love road rash, this scratches that itch pretty well. Fails at co-op.
It would be a thumbs up with the following:
1. CO-OP ONLINE CAMPAIGN, tried to use remote play and it crashes everytime so no it doesn't work. Couch co-op is not really a useable feature for me and I got it specifically to play the campaign mode with a friend so this is my main complaint.
2. Bike rework would be nice. Seems like the starter bike is statistically better than a few of the unlockable bikes. No idea why I would want to downgrade and it just feels pointless to work toward unlocking something worse than what you have. Why do this? Kills incentive to replay the game.
That's it really.
its a upgrade up road rash
THE PERFECT ROAD AND RASH RELOADED! In 90´s we had a game, Road and Rash (search on google) for Sega Mega Drive and others. Great game, same dynamics, but THIS... is FAR BETTER, IMPROVED, UPDATED... GREAT GAME!
Road Rash on steroids! Thank you so much devs for this game! I love it!! <3 <3 <3 10/10
classic arcade type fun, couldn't get my controller to work tho
If you want to play a racing game and also beat people to death then this game is perfect. My only complaint is that you lose xp upon death. If the upgrade is permanent then the xp should be as well.
Do you have a grudge against people? Has life let you down and now you have to make lemons well don't. Instead beat the crap out of them on your own trusty motorcycle. This is ultimate stress reliever shoot, explode, smack and chop as much you want. Don't lie to yourself cause this is the ideal life where you can literally erase your problems away, therefore playing by your own rules hell yea!
about 20 years ago i used to play similar games like this, it was Road Rash. i easily got 100 hours back then, whopping someone's a** with chain whip.
8/10
Works well on Steam Deck. Feels like good old Road Rush 30 years ago. It's even better with roguelite progression. Some combat mechanics are easily exploitable, but overall the game is a lot of fun.
Mad max but motorcycles
It's like Road Rash took heroin. 10/10 best game
Jumping through rooftops, decapitating opponents, blowing up trucks with grenade launchers and C4 while cars fall from the sky! It's pure madness!
I can't even remember the last time I had this much fun playing a 4-player split-screen campaign.
Just buy it.
You're gonna have a great time!
Instant regret buying this game.
Who thought it would be a good idea to take the concept of Road Rash, strip it of all the color and charm and make it into a super tryhard roguelite? This is a disservice of Road Rash and not what I expected at all.
You are supposed to trek through a randomized campaign of a dozen or so tracks in one sitting, with one health bar, but everything is off. Steering is atrocious, while your enemies will slingshot forward on rails like it's an arcade machine game. Notice how none of the Steam Store materials show any of the game's UI? That's because it's ugly, unreadable jank. There very little explanation of the game's mechanics. Everything looks awful, like a PS3/X360 era game, with a piss filter and bloom and all that.
Your success mostly depends on what kind of objectives you get - for example, your first mission might be to kill a couple of specific enemies. You managed to do that somehow and survived? Great, you can now choose between 6 temporary upgrades like increasing your max health 2%, recover it by 5% or increase a weapon's damage by 5%. But there's no guarantee you'll be able to afford it. You killed only 6 out of 7 targets? Too bad, you get almost no XP and money and your health gets permanently reduced by 25%. But it also might be an easy objective, like "survive", which simply means driving slowly off-road so that all enemies pass you by. Did anyone even playtest this?
The only way to semi-reliably recover health is by killing enemies, but even if you kill a dozen for every hit you take from a gas pipe or a machete, you will still eventually die, because there's countless other things that deal you damage during a race. It's a war of attrition and there's nothing you can do to reliably slow it down. You can block, but you WILL get ganged up on, with a couple of bikes on each of your sides, leaving you with a choice of whether to fight and take a beating from them or to slow down and lose a race so that the game penalizes you anyway. Blocking and kicking only goes so far.
There's no speed gauge, so you never know how fast you're going, but when you're trying to win a race in 1st place so that you're not penalized and at the same time you're fending off 4-5 bikers with melee weapons all attacking specifically you, your life hinges on split-second steering decisions. Didn't make the turn well enough and fell into a canyon? Dead. Didn't notice a cop car going to ram you from behind in your magic rear view mirror on the top of the screen? Dead. You were going on the left side of the road and a car appeared from behind a turn or a slope? Dead. You were going on the right side of the road, but a random car appeared going the opposite direction anyway and totaled you, because randomness is fun? Dead. You made a turn into a problematic piece of geometry that the game didn't like which catapulted you into the air? Dead. And what happens when you're dead? You lose all upgrades bought with money and you're graciously allowed to spend XP on permanent ones. But anything that you don't spend will be lost forever. And the prices are steep. Failed the 2nd race and died on the 4th? I guess you just wasted time, because you won't have enough XP to buy that sweet +5% health.
Maybe this simply isn't a game for me but for 1980s arcade/NES enthusiasts and lovers of endless grind, around which most of this game's mechanics are centered, but I fail to see any kind of fun to be had here and I loved Road Rash. I wanted to check out the "endless" mode too, but the DLC fails to work, the game doesn't recognize that I bought it. It's a waste of time.
Too many games in my library that dont work with the FULLY Supported controller and this is one of them. Its a problem now. I have a PS5 not supported and Xbox controller, they work exactly the same on my Mac. USB C plugged in or Bluetooth. Steam Disabled or not. Dont buy this game unless you really like using your keyboard and mouse like its 1994.
Super fun for couple of hours, like an updated road rash
it's like podracing from phantom menace 👍
Just beat this game for the first time and had a blast! I played the original Road Rash when I was a youngster and this game hits that nostalgia worth a modern take. Played on the steam deck and it was perfect.
I loved the old Road Rash games and this game does it so well. The music is awesome, the riding is awesome, the combat is awesome. It's like Road Rash with a slightly more arcadey / rogue like vibe to it. You'll do a lot of bashing skulls and shooting. The late game will be hard at first but you'll start getting pretty good at it. You can grind permanent upgrades each playthrough and skip to later levels after you unlock them with XP. To the people complaining about the grind, I've gotten 2,800+ XP off one playthrough by using Gordon Gekko + Midas Vest and any other XP upgrade you can get. Just play safe with guns because you'll be a glass cannon doing this. You can XP up pretty fast if you play well. I have more hours in this game than it shows, playing at a friends house.
Mad max but more modern and more bikes.
Ever since the recent update the NOS doesn't work on controller. I'm not sure if it's bugged or what.
This is one of the best (if not the best) racing fighting game I have ever played. Too bad there is not enough games of this type in the market. It is quick, satisfying, visually beautiful. Each run is different and you are receiving permanent and temporary upgardes for your bike. Too bad I can't connect for online co-op.
game ps2 kalo ga salah
very nice fighting games, the guns are overpowered and the game is janky but offer a very fun experience
Fun game, when it let you ride a bike.
Most often than not is fighting tho, which means exploiting the CPU tendency of attacking when at player bounding box range. Parrying has a very short window, and I find it very annoying that game will prompt you to strike the key, no matter how late in the game you are in.
Then there is an enemy type that will parry always, breaking the aforementioned parrying rule and the suspension of disbelief. Exploitable with a kick.
Then, unless you kick the CPU will never ever run into a car or obstacle: they even go as far as unnaturally avoiding them. Or, at least you can't do that, your drifting is much outward oriented and requires breaking anyway.
Then the level/track design: there aren't many of them, several just shares the same scenario and part of the track, plus no, I don't find rooftops and falling cars from the sky are fun ideas.
I'm also genuinely puzzled about why some of them have CPU bikes starting at far distance than others. Is it necessary? I mean the game has extreme rubber banding anyway (a sure indication of bad design if you ask me), and you are supposed to collect and use nitro to fill the gap in places. If you don't have any then you have to fill this "garbage time" driving until the game decides to throw you some low level enemies. I mean I like driving in this game, but not when I have this fake gap where nothing happens.
Then the bikes: there's no real progression, the very first bike is the best one until you get the very last one, which requires finishing the game so many times I can't be bothered to check already while writing this.
In general this game inflates "extra content" but, at the same time, the core stuff that matters can be unlocked in roughly 3 to 5 hours. The inflated campaign(s) requires 30-45 minutes of play session, no save/load option because "it has to be true roguelite" ...
Assuming that online doesn't work (based from other reviews I've read), haven't tried hot seat either so can't tell on that front either but it will likely be rubber banded as well.
It may be still possible to enjoy this, provided that you don't pay it full price tag and be prepared that it won't last long. Definitely do not recommend if you're an achievement completionist.
So this game has basically very little to it. Yes you ride down the road and hit others. I did not get any unlocks but I don't think they would help the game that much. I found myself bored after playing for ten minutes and played a total of 20.
I am trying to still figure out what would bring someone back. Over 30 years ago a game came out called Bump and Jump. While I doubt I could play that for an hour now. I still think it is a more fun game than Road Redemption.
lotta rocks you could see around the environment
while racing and killin opponents with various weapons
sadly not those rocks im interested in..
fun game tho
7.8/10
A very fun game to play solo or with some friends. It has a unique combat which is fighting on motorcycles. 10/10
I really like the core gameplay, but good Lord, calling this grindy is an understatement.
HP drop and cash drops are unbelievably stingy; and every hit you take must be offset with other dozen of kills from you to cover. The worst part is, every point XP not immediately spent is lost. Everything just screams GRIND, GRIND HARDER.
Again, the gameplay is good, but not good enough to stop this from feeling sisyphean.
Really fun title that brings me back to playing Road Rash on the Sega Genesis with my brother when we were kids. Once you get the Golden Bike though the challenge greatly drops off. Certainly worth a couple bucks and hours of your time.
modern road rash, check
now we just need a twisted metal tribute game
On the surface, it looks like an updated version of Road Rash (which I grew up playing on Sega Genesis and later Nintendo 64) but they've done a lot to add to the basic premise. It has a basic storyline, you can change your character and bike (which all contain pros and cons to downright challenges) and the new game + (and ++) adds even more replay value to it.
Am particularly fond of the "roguelite" system (you keep your unlockables) and the combat feels satisfying. There's more depth than I expected (your sword is ineffective against helmets, but if you hit them with a hammer first, they lose their helmet and then are vulnerable.) Everything is randomized too so no two games are going to be the same.
I would have liked to see a little more variety in the enemies (there's three rival gangs and thats it) but not a deal breaker. You get a good mixture of other racers and the modes change (sometimes you're racing, sometimes you have to kill a set number of people, etc)
All in all, a fun game for less than $20 that you'll have a reason to play a few times. It looks like you can do couch co-op too, which I bet is amazing fun.
it is excellent. I just pop it in, play a few mins and pop out whenever I get time.
if u hate your life play this game. Yes, it is classic and have old cool stuffs BUT you cant pass a save point. you have to sit half the game on one RUN.
I want to play online, I want to play online with my brother, friends, etc. I click on 'Online' I always get 'Failed to connect to server". I come back the next day, same. Next day, same, next day, same, next day same... Are these guys for real? This would only be fun for me if I can play with other people, online, you know like in the very near future.
Awesome Road Rash inspired game oozing with passion and creativity. You can tell the people who made this really had fun with it. They really innovated greatly upon the Road Rash formula. Yet theres still a good amount of room for improvement and polish which makes me wonder why theres literally no other games quite like this.
Its tough in the beginning but once you build up your skill tree its a very fun little game.
This game is so badass. I can't stop.
Yes, there are occasional jank and glitches, but for the most part the game runs fine.
Yes, the story and characters are corny, but in a good way. It adds to the charm of the game.
Overall this game is amazingly addictive fun, highly recommended. Love it.
I loved the original Road Rash series from the 1990's. If you're looking for something that perfectly recaptures that Road Rash feeling, it's this.
This game seems to pop up fairly often in sales, so even better if you can get it at a discount.
