Об игре
В игре Subterrain вы будете играть неким Доктором Вестом, очевидно единственным выжившим в подземном городе на Марсе. Сражайтесь, выживайте, бегите или делайте что посчитаете нужным среди ограниченного количества ресурсов и безжалостных врагов. Вашим злейшим врагом будет ваша собственная невнимательность... Игра фокусируется на четырёх основных игровых механиках.Каждое решение, которое вы совершите может быть критично. Помните, время никого не ждет.
Выживание
- Боритесь против потребностей выживания, таких как: Жажда, Голод, Сон и Естественные нужды.
- Берегитесь таких состояний как: Заражение, Кровотечение, Переломы, Истощение и Переохлаждение.
- Собирайте материалы и проводите исследования предметов, чтобы производить медицинские препараты.
- Почувствуйте смертельную боль от удушья.
Бой
- Боритесь за свою жизнь с помощью оружия ближнего и дальнего боя.
- Кастомизируйте стрелковое оружие с помощью прогрессирующей модульной системы.
- Устраивайте гонку против времени с симуляцией распростанения инфекции по всей колонии Марса.
- Мутанты со временем будут эволюционировать, так что уничтожайте их, пока они на стадии кокона!
- Яростно защищайте генератор любой ценой или умрите в бою против нашествия мутантов.
Создание предметов
- Создавайте предметы выживания или очередное оружие массового поражения, используя 3D принтер и Биосоединитель
- Перерабатывайте бесполезный мусор в более важные материалы для создания предметов.
- Добывайте редкую руду или выращивайте овощи с помощью шахты или фермы. Обрабатывайте их для получения более редких материалов.
- Получите доступ к продвинутым предметам через исследования. Создайте свой лазерный меч!
Разведка
- Разведывайте случайно сгенерированные подуровни также, как и вручную созданные.
- Изучайте местность при помощи нелинейного рассказа о сюжете.
- Пройдитесь по открытому миру, где только вы решаете, куда вам отправиться дальше.
- Восстановите жизнеспособность колонии при помощи починки генераторов кислорода и температуры.
- Отыщите зацепки, чтобы вырваться из всего этого ужаса!

Действие игры :
Потребовалось немного больше времени чем ожидалось, но к 2050 году человечество наконец колонизировало Марс. Руководителем работ является предприниматель по имени Джефф Мюррей. In spite of the fact I'm still actively playing the game, at least for a bit yet, I can't recommend it to new players.
Contamination soured the mid-game for me. It's a measure, from 0 to 100, of the main character's contamination from the environment, given by an ambiguous orb in the bottom left. This value grows at a rate proportionate to the current contamination level, and at a certain point, causes HP drain. Getting hit raises it, and the only way to lower it is decontamination pills, which come at a steep resource cost.
You can easily end your run if you save while contaminated. After spending a while living on med packs while I farmed resources for MULTIPLE decontamination pills -- because you need like 3 if you're badly contaminated -- unfortunately just created a save-scum play style.
Death after 5+ hours to contamination results in rage quits, doubtless based on achievement rates. Lowering the resource requirement from 50 to 35 would keep more players engaged in the game and make many of the other medical resources more fun to use, because you'd actually not be afraid to take some hits and heal up proper.
Fantastic game with great replay value. There's another game that shares the name, but it feels unrelated. I'd love to see a sequel to this one that carries on with similar gameplay.

So why is this a downvote? Wtf? Well lemme get into it.
This game is EXTREMELY grindy. As in, grind and wait heaven. As in, if you dont min max, you done fucked up. The problem you have with this game as you start playing it, is that you wont really know that until its far too late.
Here is one of the major issues this game has: Progression. Or rather, locking off said progression behind exploration. Wait, hold on whats the problem with that? That makes no sense. Thats what you would want right? Weeeeeeell...
Do you like RNG? Do you like every single run of yours to be different? Yea? Cool. You will hate that here. The upgrades you REQUIRE for progression can only be found in obviously new locations. Here is the problem with that. These new locations apart from the first floor are A. Randomized and B. Randomized by floor. Meaning that past the first floor all bets are off. Need a specific research upgrade from Viking Plaza? Better hope its on floor 1 and not floor 5 cause it can also be on every single one inbetween. And better yet, if you are at least a few days ingame into the run, that place is not just crawling with mutants but also crawling with stuff that will kill you quicker than you can percieve.
You have to hope that a REQUIRED upgrade is on a good floor if you dont wanna suffer. Now the thing is, exploring the places till you get the goodie is still fun. The problem is that its also quite deadly if you dont watch your ass almost 24/7. You can get rooms that are tiny that hold up to 7 enemies. You can get giant rooms that can hold up to 20. And honestly, this is great! Its not even a downside for the experience! But this is where the min max aspect comes in! If you havent done it till now, get fucked! Cause you aint getting past this!
There are no skill trees. There is no "upgrade till you funny lookin". If you havent upgraded your gear to the max point that you can till you need the next big upgrade, do not even THINK ABOUT IT. You will die. A miserable and worthless death.
What a fun game. Its great honestly. I love it. But would I recommend this to randos who see the tags and think "man this flash game looks cool I wanna try it"? No. No I would not. Run for the fucking hills. You aint ready. This game is not a casual run and gun. You will die if you play like that. I am not trying to be like "Only hardcore gamers know how to play this game". I mean this. If you play this game, casually, you will suffer. And thats intended.
I think my biggest gripe personally that I have with the game is that at some point they just up the scale of the mobs and call it a day. I dont know if it gets better after this. Havent reached that point yet. But I will. Probably it wont change much past that but we will see.
Oh btw this game has a horde mechanic. Have fun.
Don't generally write reviews, especially on an 8 year old game, but just wanted to commend this game for doing what it does well. It's fairly simple in design, but it's challenging, creates a sense of progression as you go along and has just enough variety to keep you going. I've spent way more on games that I've put much less time in. Well worth it.
Very great game.

Yes, it's an old game. But everything in it is so atmospheric, you can't help but immerse.
