Found it boring.
Positive:
* Fun for some quick rounds.
* Interesting time travel mechanic.
* Good for beginners.
* Many game modes.
Negative:
* Not that much variety in enemies and stage graphics.
* Technical issues: Had to turn g-sync off for this game specifically in nvidia control panel, otherwise the monitor loses signal when starting the game. Never seen this before with any game or application.
I like it and I am glad I bought it.
i shoot things. things go boom boom. i go back in time. i do it again. 10/10
Just a plain shoot all-o-them spaceship thingies emitting halo thingie with bullets thingie and literally nothing outta box to add into it. Like K, if our dereanged spaceship gets its energy drained everytime you miss a shot and a uncommon time travel feature that creates a black blop like thing that shoots all you shot before you pressed time travel button on keyboard. Other than that, its just , bad guys coming from right side of the screen, you dealing with them and going crazy, sprinkling them bullets Aall over the goddamn screen.
Sorry but princess is in another castle ! K game but not expecting somethin like this from ubisoft . Yup, its by the same company, that brought us farcry and tom clancy and assassins creed.
In this game, time bending mechanics profoundly change the dynamics of a classic scrolling shooter. The challenges are designed so a tatical use of time travelling is tied to a very deep score system.
This is the most underrated shooter of all times. This game is a perfect exemple of how indie games can be REALLY cool. It has really nice graphics, it's crazy optmized and has an incredibly novelty factor. The time traveling mechanics may not seem new, but they are used in such a way I'v never seen before or since.
I played this game for the first time in a hostel in San Francisco in 2009, when I went to represent a game I worked on (called City Rain) as one of the games nominated for the Independent Games Festival Student Showcase Award.
Zeit² was another game nominated and the devs were staying at the same hostel than I and they showed it to me at the leisure area underneath the dorm rooms. And I have to say that it was simply mind blowing.
I never forget this game. I always think about it when I think of SHMUPS and this is the game who made me want to make a SHMUP one day.
In the end of the day, the game who was contemplated with the awards was a half life mod that endeup being bought by Valve so its mechanics could be added to Portal 2. But who cares? For me, Zeit² was the best indie game of 2009.
Zeit² is a game that ticks many of my boxes: Shoot em up, low price, interesting mechanics, metal/orchestral/electronic soundtrack, lots of blues. good controls. (though, you can't rebind controller binds despite being able to rebind keyboard buttons. WAT?!)
It's a horizontal shmup with a time travel mechanic, which will be necessary to deal with mutli-enemy swarms which can be tough to hit, enemies that phase out of time, and standard enemies. Traveling back in time creates a shadow version of yourself that repeats the actions you made while you can go to another part of the screen to shoot other enemies, or "double the damage" you're doing to a single enemy. Killing standard enemies are necessary as every enemy that passes the screen takes a small perecentage of your health, as well as every bullet you shoot. This would seem annoying, and in certain levels, it kinda is annoying, but it is balance pretty well it doesn't feel like it is unfair or cheap. Only shoot and preeshoot when you need to and you generally wont run out of health because of shooting. Your ship is surrouneded by a shield which can catch nearby pick ups and harm close enemies. This shield shrinks as you take damage and also displays the meter for your Beam Shot, which goes through multiple enemies and quickly damages large mobs with higher health.
There is also a Fast Forward button, though I didn't find much use for it in surviving the game (I think it increases score and maybe helps to deal with certain enemies. I didnt figure out Rapid Shot eitiher, or purple enemies that seem like they can't be damaged.
I was enjoying myself, until stage 3, the Minelayer level, where purple enemies, mines, and swarms weakened me until the boss, and while i held up ok, the boss destroyed me with a crazy auto-homing ramming/conatact damage attack. I think time reversal helps with this, and it did in my next run, but I got to the point where I couldn't reach the boss anymore. This stage is rather annoying for me, so I might not come back since I have thousands of games on my plate.
Zeit² is a worthy purchase for shmup fans and a decent purchase for casual shmup players looking for something slightly different in the genre. I had this game on my wishlist for years, so I'm glad I finally play it, though it is not a must play.
It unfortunately doesn't have an english version.
I don't know if its really worth it now.
game works well., the game has a rewind and fast foward button.
Is the game good, i suppose,
in second level after the frist boss you will encounter energy drainers those are the killer for this game I totally hate them.
I can understand why they did this but honestly they drain far too much energy which you need for your sheld and health.
Your shield = health.
Health = How many shoots you have
Getting to second boss was okish.
Got to second boss and found it far too crappy to even try to use the beam shot which you get before that level, boses move around like they are trying to dodge you but your too busy to even concentrate on them because of the bullethell type game you dodging bullets just trying to get though and survive long enough to kill the boss.
Gave up, going to uninstall, Thanks for game..
Quite interesting shooter game! Gameplay is as easy as pretty much any shooter game there is however, you do get a neat gameplay mechanic added in Zeit2... rewind time for a few seconds! That way, you can land more kills (to heal up) and keep it up with the killing spree!
Visuals, gameplay and soundtrack are all quite decent!
My only advice though... play this with a gamepad/controller! With keyboard, it ain't as intuitive as a controller!
An exquisite rendition of a bioluminscent trip down neon lane. Quite expensive but in my opinion well worth the asking price. A quality title; slick, polished and demonstrates there is a whole lot more than learning enemy patterns. The time travelling element has been implemented well and adds to the dymanic bells and whilstles. Yes Sir/Madame, I wholeheartly loved my time spent with Zeit Squared.
Ez to learn, hard to master...
Zeit 2 is a great game for just a few bucks, its fast paced arcade style gameplay reminds of alot of the old rail shooters back in the day of arcade gaming.
If you have a few mins to kill, or just want to test your reflexes, give Zeit 2 a try.
This is a great take on the scrolling shooter. too bad its not that long. to expand its replay the standards are added: time attack, survival, score attack, etc. I would have reviewed this earlier but till this week the game contained 3rd party DRM that apparently stopped it from working. If you are a fan of Gradius this is a fun departure. If you always thought gradius was too hard. this isnt that hard. its fun .
6.5/10
bad port
I never ssen such great and unique mechanics in a shooter since Ikaruga. Besides this game has a great soundtrack, great artwork and for a 10 dollar price tag is will provide a a lenghy fun experience. Higlhy recomended, if you still have some doubt , just download the demo.
Old school 2D shoot 'em up at its best. The game looks gorgeous, and like most of the greats of the genre, revolves around a deceptively simple mechanic that'll give you countless hours of fun to reach a true level of mastery at. It's certainly not on the level with Ikaruga as a retro revival game, but for $10, it's tough to complain and it offers a bottomless pit of replay value.
our latest release. on PC an XBLA. witziges game mit ganz freshem ansatz für ein klassisches genre.
go go have fun and support your local (berlin) game developer
