I might not have given this game enough time, but I didn't really find what I tried fun. Nothing inherently wrong with it, it just didn't get me excited.
I got panty jumpscared when the gravity changed upside down
CHARACTER DESIGN LOOKS LIKE SOMETHING OUT OF GRANDBLUE. DEVS SHOULD OF MADE A FIGHTING GAME WITH THESE CHARACTERS INSTEAD OF A HACK AND SLASH PUZZLE GAME. $7.99 IS NOT WORTH IT FOR 6 BORING LEVELS. I CANT RECOMMEND THIS GAME. YOU WILL GET TIRED WITHIN 5 MINUTES.
P.S. DEVS USE THIS CHARACTER AND MAKE IT A FIGHTING GAME LIKE GRANDBLUE OR BLAZBLUE ADD 12 CHARACTERS TO THE ROSTER AND CHARGE $7.99 THEN IT WILL BE WORTH THE PRICE
I can't recommend this game at all. In every perceivable way, it feels like a cheap mobile game. The controls are atrocious, even with a controller. The level design is bland and the world feels empty. The voice acting is quite unnecessary given the poor dialogue. And on top of that, you are being greeted by a menu system where you don't know what half of the things do. Skip on this, even if it's on sale.
For around 3 hours of gameplay, even 50% off is too expensive
I'm probably being a bit harsh but it sums up what I remember of my experience playing this game.
Forward to the Sky doesn't really break any new ground, in terms of graphics, combat, platforming, or story. Just looking at the screenshots, you can see it looks like maybe PS2 or even PS1-era - and all the best detail seems to have gone into the main character. The scenery gets old fast, the combat gets old fast, and the platforming... well if platforming is what you really must have when there is so many other better games out there, then have at it.
There are games out there that have been done by small teams (or even made by just one person!) that are a lot more enjoyable than this. It's three hours of my life I could have spent on a better game.

This game is very cute and I was compelled to finish it, however at least half an hour was trying to get one of two different controllers to work. Definitely play this with a keyboard if you must.
Once I managed to get it to behave and on the correct display, not much more to look forward to unfortunately. Combat and platforming is mediocre, though it didn't truly grate until the second to last level. Story is inoffensive enough but the writing and VA kneecap it. Its not bad enough or charming enough to be entertaining in a kusoge way but it feels about worth the dollar I paid for it.
This game is rough and I want to recommend it, but it's just not there. The main menu has zero labels, the voice acting is rough, the combat is half-baked, the jumping feels like its from a pre-Mario 64 platformer, the controller support is worse. The game is definitely better than the sum of its parts but needed more time in the oven. Honestly, I'd give this a positive review if even just the controller support was improved, but as it stands...
The game just isn't there yet.

An enjoyable time to randomly pick to play. Nothing that will blow you away though.
