just dumb pop cap fun. made by the same mad lads who gave us plants vs zombies
One of my favourite childhood games, and STILL such a good one, even as an adult. I lament the fact that you can't take more than 3 pets into your tank with you, but that's just me being a hoarder, lmao.
Absolutely LOVE that this game still holds up, so many years after it was released. I think I might just be playing this game until I die XD
Fun classic game that's been out forever. Can run on simple hardware. Has great replay-ability. I enjoy this game a lot. Simple and fun.
I sure hope this is a normal aquarium :3c
The aquarium was in fact not normal.
This is peak nostalgia for me. i didn't have many videogames as a kid, but this was one of them.
Very good for a couple of hours of silly but very satisfying gameplay.
Don't play too many levels in one go, though, or you'll develop carpal tunnel syndrome really fast.
Probably the best game to ever grace this beautiful rock we call home. Insaniquarium is where game design peaked and we'll never reach this altitude ever again. The mechanics, art and sound track are all pieces of a masterpiece that you could compare to the works of Michelangelo and have come out on top. If I were to be on my death bed and could only play one more game before I heard that final beep, I would instantly decide on this one. I would attempt to prolong my own life, potentially discovering immortality, just so I could continue to play this celestial, enchanting, pure and virtuous piece of fiction even more. Every time I boot this fantastic piece of work I am instantly taken back, once I hear the symphony of the title screen that is arguably better than most of Beethoven's work, I instantly find myself feeling all that ails me be removed from my husk of a body.
I fell in love with this game as a kid. I searched for years for a way to play it but never had a PC except for the couple years my mother and I owned one for her work purposes. My whole house enjoyed the game and I was always jealous of my uncle with how fast he could click the mouse and feed the fish.
Finally, I'm 27 now and found the game after buying a PC off of my buddy. One of the very first games I looked for was this game and boy let me tell you I was hype.
For the next few hours my attention was entirely devoted to this game and beating it considering I never got to as a kid and just was not equipped with the skill or dexterity to do so. I beat the game, realized I am way better than my uncle was (take that Mike) and I will never delete this game from my PC. I still occasionally get back on it to run a few games and play around with my personal aquarium. Absolute master class of a game.
absaloute banger though the guppies in the game dont look like real guppies because their tails are to small and they arent fat enough so not good enough f--
Angie's a real one for keeping the pregnant fish I just neglected to feed until it died 7 times in a row resurrected
Oh yeah, the other pets are pretty cool too.
i played this game on vc and overstimulated my besties watching with the sound effects on 4-5
This is my screensaver now, and I made a desktop shortcut so I can start it whenever I leave my pc and everyone can see my fish :D
this game is very cool because i liked this game so much of the demo that i bought it so i could play actually and to say that i didn't enjoy it that is a lie
Played this when I was younger. Thought it was one of those demo games on computers from when I was a kid that I could never find. Finally found it. Still as great as ever. Exactly how I remembered. Shooting heroin and playing this to feel like a kid again.
Ooo boy when I saw that this game was on steam I bought it so fast. I played this game before I even knew steam existed. The sound of the Mama fish is a bit weird but the game is awesome to play.
What are you doing, looking at reviews!? Get them now, and relive your childhood!!
This game taught me to do math, planning, pattern recognition, and time management.
Sadly, EA is too lazy to implement achievement system, making it modern to new audience.
9/10.
I played this game as a kid when it was a Flash game in the early 00's. It took me away mentally and I remember getting so focused on it, it was very satisfying! Now that I'm older I've shown this game to my husband and we play together all the time.
it's a fantastic game, a lot of clicking thou so your hand will hurt if you play too long
i need more games like this, a game that feels chill and stressful at the same time, very lovely, stupid looking fish all the while still being cute. fave part is the pregnant fish, very elegant
I love it but i cannot recommend it to people who have not played this before sometime in their childhood.
There's no fullscreen and EA will 100% not spend a penny to fix the issue of fish eating your GPU.
If you were a kid in the early 2000s, Insaniquarium was one of your go to games. One second, you're feeding your fish like it's a chill Sunday, and the next, you're battling space invaders with a laser-eyed cat while a crab runs around stealing all your money. It’s pure chaos, and it's awesome.
This game is all about frantic clicking, weird pets, and trying not to let your fish get eaten. It’s simple, but in that way that you can’t stop playing. Even today, it still hits that nostalgia button hard. If you played it back in the day, hopping back in feels like reliving your childhood
I've been playing this game since I was a kid. Unique, simple, soothing, and just overall enjoyable. Get this flippin game I'm TELLIN YA!!!!
Perfect piece of classic memorabilia! It really takes me back and is worth every penny. This game is worth multiple hours to midlessly sink your time in. Had a great time revisiting this classic gem! 10/10 would 100% recommend even to those who have never played before, espacially if you are into interactive clicker games.
This might be the greatest game EVER MADE! The amount of spamming your mouse is sure to impress any woman who sees you play this masterpiece. The graphics are so amazing it feels like I'm feeding my actual fish as they fend of the alien hordes. Would recommend this game to anyone ages 5-95.
I used to play this game when I was younger and always enjoyed it. I recently got it and still enjoy it just as much as I used to!
i haven't played this game long but it was just the nostalgia i needed to get me by, just knowing its in my library makes me happy to know i can always go back to this classic.
Super fun game from the 2000s. Lots of cool fish and super addicting! :D
Very nostalgic. Played this game a lot as a kid. I forgot the name of it for a while, but recently saw art depicting it and found my interest in playing it again. Just as simple yet fun as it was back then. Though, now, my right hand hurts a bit from all the frantic clicking lol
lowkey an incredibly fun game that i recently got back into on a whim. check out the insaniquarium subreddit its cool there. also the insaniquarium roleplay on roblox (i call brinkly)
is fish tank and then oh no alien come steal fish why he do dat to my lil guys :(
A classic selling for wonderfully cheap. The gameplay elements are silly but play well - the money scaling of the growing tank and unique fish, the supporting fish, and the weird aliens to kill - and make for a unique and memorable experience.
This was an impulse buy, I got it for a dollar. It's peak in some abstract way. Very, very simple gameplay that scales up to a dramatic degree. You will have to click a lot on the later stages, though, but the community seems to have several solutions for that so you won't end up hurting your hand. I'd recommend this game, but also recommend looking into that.
This game slaps. I think about fish and aliens 24/7. I have nightmares about missing coins when they hit the ground. Huge shout out to stinky the snail. Even bigger shout out to Angie.
The precursor or grandaddy of clicker games without immediately turning into an "idler". The challenge in this is to click (spam L2 on Steam Deck) and avoid getting carpal tunnel. You're gonna raise an aquarium, the best damn aquarium you've ever raised, and then kill aliens, make money and flaunt your abilities once again on the next level. This is often 80% off, it's worth the purchase of a 2010's app store game. It has the energy of a 2000s flash browser game, and genuinely is the one of the greatest CASUAL GRANDMA'S GAMEs ever made.
Some nostalgic fun for everyone! Loved to play this on my mom's desktop when I was young, nice to see I can still play it today!
simple aquarium arcade game with lots to offer. remember playing this back in the day as a kid and really enjoy it even now
What's your favorite pet fish? Mine's Preggo. This game brings nostalgic memories; I used to play this in primary school during computer classes. I love the sound them fish make when you feed them -- "seulfp", just iconic! It's simple point and click game where you feed fish guppies, fight aliens that attack your tank. Keep your fish alive, earn monies, buy eggs and pass the level. Simple but each level has some new challenges to them. After the final boss, you can replay the game and unlock more pets. 10/10 game. Nostalgic.
Be mindful that you are buying a game made in 2001 with a locked screen resolution, but a really good one! I love Insaniquarium!
i did not have the steam dll issue, instead the game would start with the menu being off center
the fix was thanks to a comment from 11 years ago; browse local file click properties of insaniquarium and the deluxe exe, compatibility tab and turn on "run in 640x480" on both
beside that misfortune; tis a good game
Perfectly unchanged by time. It's still the same game I remember playing years ago.
Insaniquarium Deluxe is a 2004 PopCap Game's classic. While it's technically considered a puzzle game, there's a lot more than what meets the eye. It really shines because of it's simplicity; no microtransactions, no complicated skill trees, no need to rebind half of the keys on your keyboard so the gameplay feels "right". Nothing against modern games, but it's a nice breath of fresh air.
There's a lot of great aspects of this game that make it so addicting -- fun upgrades, varied enemies, and (my personal favorite) 20+ pets with unique abilities that support your efforts to expand your aquarium and hold off the hoards of aliens looking to feast on your hard work. Personally, I like to run Wadsworth, Rufus, and Vert because they were my favorites when I was a kid. I remember initially being terrified of Vert, because as a child, I had never really perceived mortality before, and the idea of something continuing to live after death confused and frightened me. I'd stare at him as he'd aimlessly drift among the schools of living guppies, wondering if Vert understood his twisted immortality or if he was simply devoid of any thought at all. My own thoughts would race and I would look to Rufus for comfort, but the perpetual frown carved upon his chitinous shell made me understand something. Vert was seemingly unphased by the theoretical nightmare he embodied, and yet Rufus the Crab, an animal that is understood to be the "perfect evolutionary design" that many creatures inadvertently end up mimicking, was locked in a state of inexplicable misery. Truly, is death worse than life? Or do we simply fear what we do not understand? I quickly plucked the pills that I had dropped for the guppies out of the tank and into my own mouth. As they began to take hold of my psyche, I looked to the last bastion of safety I had: Wadsworth. Alas, even he would come to abandon me, his little smirk slowly unhinging into a gaping maw and expanding beyond the limits of the tank, nay, reality, and allowing me to understand the folly of my questions. The dead can move, but they choose not to, knowing that it would strip them of the eternal peace that has been bestowed upon them.
If you're looking for a nostalgic romp through a classic game, I can't recommend this more! Just wish they'd update this port to have more resolution options for modern monitors, but I understand why we probably wont ever see that (thanks EA).
This is a bad game, bottom line. These positive reviews are crazy.
-lack of menu options, terrible fullscreen or tiny non-sizable window
-feeding food isn't 1:1 food per click, and its bad and you can't tell where you're feeding and a lot of times it just despawns. Great design.
-I would go further but i don't want to.
This game is bad
