What’s the point? 5/10
Not worth $15 by a long shot, less than 5 hours and the game is beaten and all achievements are complete.
Loved the style, overall atmosphere and music the game provides. It's a relaxing short puzzle game that does not disappoint. Highly recommend!!
Despite being a rather short game, I found myself coming back to this multiple times because I enjoyed the atmosphere and the music. I really liked the flying mechanics and drifting around the overworld. The cave puzzle sections felt a bit clunky at times, and the platforming and puzzles didn't feel very rewarding and more like you just stumble on the solution after scouring the entire area multiple times. I wish the game had instead focused on puzzles that make use of both the bird form and the human form.
As I said before though, the atmosphere of this game is surprisingly well crafted, and the music really sets the tone of this post-apocalyptic world. It's a great flying sim with lore and puzzles on top
Very chill and bright game. Long walks and extremely cool flying time i enjoyed the most, simple and nice slow-developing story, easy-to-solve yet not stupid puzzles, beautiful scenery and no stress. I loved it. One of the few great games for spending your time without pressure, like taking a deep long breath of fresh "aer".
Reviewing every game I have 100% completed #03:
This game was chill and relaxing although sometimes I found it confusing to figure out what to do. A mostly enjoyable, short game.
Enjoyed the environment & artstyle. But the plot seems meh and the HIDE & SEEK achievement seems almost impossible to acquire. I don't want to do a second play just to achieve that.
A very fun and atmospheric game. Plot isn't really relevant to me for AER as what really pulled me in here is just flying around, a mechanic which is handled wonderfully making this a very fun and cozy game to play.
Worth it while on sale, cute, good story if you go through and piece it together, and also just relaxing to fly around post-game.
The game is quite the journey, both figuratively and literally. It was a gorgeous experience and very peaceful too. The puzzles were fairly straight forward, allowing me to enjoy the story, and the atmosphere serene. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys cozy games.

Best flying SIM EVAR!!!
really great story 10/10 and easy get achievemets but one problem wont work achievements for young girl hide play i cant get achievements but still good story
Very touching game, common gaming life is very comfortable, the music and art of operation are flawless, the gameplay seamlessly integrates and solving puzzles, creating a harmonious and exciting experience, a calm atmosphere, and immerse yourself in the atmosphere. The surround sound allows players to feel a magical feeling after completing the journey.
More than just a game, AER is a serene adventure that goes beyond traditional boundaries, providing a unique and memorable experience for those who appreciate the beauty of interactive storytelling.

This game is a playable therapy, thank you soo much for developing that! <3
That is a big pile of nothing.
No clear instructions of what to do. No plan, no clear directions, no marker to where you need to go. No journal to remember what is going on. The controls are not great and it's hard to manoeuvre, especially in the air. When you're in a human form, it's too slow (there's no running option), the jumping sometimes doesn't react to you clicking the jumping button, so you end up falling insted. I'm bored and I'm not about to figure out what the game wants from me (even then, I don't think I want to play this). It's built purely on religion and religious nonsense, which I hate.
It's been in my library for years, so I'm not sure whether I got it for free or bought it on sale. Either way, not worth it.
VERY boring, controls don't feel great, annoying to maneuver, graphics are nice. I do NOT recommend this game please save your money

Beautiful little puzzle/exploration game. Very relaxing to just fly around, love the art style.
nice
Very amazing story. well done!
keep it in your mind for achievement! after you complete knowledge of power.
do not go to freeze land to get 3rd symbol power. go find Erin for hide and seek achievement otherwise you have to start over again. it is part of Dev mistake.
<3 beaut
Small, chill game with some fun mechanics
Grab a cup of coffee and relax , this the type of game i like to chill on and drink some coffee
A very fun game, would strongly recommend.
Fine little exploration game. The art was completely fine with me and I had a chill little time. Not a must have, but hey, why not ?
I got too bored and couldn't even finish the game. The game is kind of repetitive, and yes, it's beautiful, but there's nothing more to that, really. The story doesn't make you feel "WOW"
This is a fun little game about being a bird and pondering humanity. It's aestetics are nice, the physics are pleasant, the platforming/puzzles are easy but enjoyable in combination with the rest of the package. It lasts about 3 to 4 hours and somehow reminds me a bit of A Story About My Uncle. It's nice, and I'd recommend it for a chill afternoon.
It a decent indie game, didnt bother to finish, wasnt quite what i thinked, but its nice, works well and looks interesting. Didnt find any reason to negative it.
overall a beautiful atmospheric game thats chill though somewhat sad actually once you get into the lore/worldbuilding. however, i would absolutely ONLY buy this game when its on sale. i got it for $1.50. $15 though? absolute ripoff. do NOT buy it full price. my total playtime is 6 hours but only because i went afk for huge chunks of time while leaving the game running (something i rarely do). honestly all said and done even with 100%'ing the game, it probably couldve been completed in 3 hours. with 100%'ing all achievements.
this game like i said is very beautiful visually. and its definitely a lot of fun to fly around as an actual bird and to transform back and forth from your bird form to your human form seamlessly and at any time. but as others have said, this main mechanic of the game (flying) is not allowed in any of the "dungeons." which unsurprisingly now youre forced to walk everywhere, its actually pretty slow and a bit janky. game was made for flying. not sure why that wasnt allowed inside anywhere.
in addition the "dungeons" i put in quotes cause theyre really not hard in ANY way. can be entirely completed in 5 or 10 minutes. depends on how fast you can walk really, if youre going through all the steps to unlock everything in the most efficient way possible. zero puzzles in this game are hard. everything is a piece of cake. even zelda games makes you think a bit to connect the dots how to solve puzzles. here? nah. its literally running around to the next thing to interact with and then like someone else mentioned any answers are right there in the room with you for anything you need to turn or rotate to open any doors, etc.
really the worst part though is the ending. there was quite a bit of interesting worldbuilding along the way and the ending was like the culmination of all of that (as one would expect). however, as someone else mentioned LITERALLY all you do is enter a cutscene as soon as you run into the big baddie at the very end... and the cutscene literally fades to an all white screen and the credits roll. not even kidding. nothing actually happens. definitely no input from the player to DO anything. and frankly pretty disappointing there was all this buildup and then it ended in 0.2 seconds in a really anticlimactic way. i mean we didnt even need to fly at all even to "fight" the final boss? come on, man. thats the main mechanic of the entire game.
so overall this game wasnt bad per se. so thats why im still recommending it. i didnt really encounter any bugs so i didnt really have any issues on that front. and again its a lovely game to look at visually as you play this small indie game. but yeah, definitely definitely only get this on sale. i feel like $1.50 is exactly the right price considering how short the game truly is, how empty the open world actually is once you get into it, and how lackluster the actual ending was. $1.50 you get what you paid for.
It's a game about balance. Just like our lives
One of the best game that I have ever played. Story is good, execution is good. Puzzles are rather easy but they were designed really good, I could solve them all by myself. And also, last part of the map feels like the end of the universe in a peaceful way. Masterfully done, 10/10.
Yes
Yes.
I don't get the hype. One day I'll stop getting conned into getting these indie tech demos
.
The game is very beautiful and easy to get a hang of. The puzzles are easy and the game is short. It took me a tad less than 4 hours to beat between potty breaks and snack breaks and such. Its 100% worth it during a sale. But at the default of $15 idk, That's up to you.
My only gripe was the ending. Very abrupt and such a let down. My chat(who had watched me play the entire game) was just as confused and as disappointed as I was.
This game gives me a feeling that's hard to explain. The best I can think of is it's like a dream you have of flying. Simple puzzles and a dreamy form of escapism lets you drift wherever the wind might take you. Happy sailing.
Atmospheric beauty and joy. Playing this game made me feel warm inside and gave me a renewed sense of wonder for life. I got it for free on another platform but bought a copy on Steam just to have it. The music is great, flying is so natural and free feeling. I loved exploring this world. For someone looking for this type of game it is as good as it gets. I put it up there with ABZU for great games with a touching story and incredibly beauty in exploration. 10/10
You start the game
You fly
You don't want to quit the game anymore
You play it not because of the story or anything you play it because some how this game gives you a feeling you didn't know you wanted to experience when you fly.
Nice graphics, but way too short with an underwhelming story and bad controls. Do not pay full price - I guarantee that you'll regret it. I bought this on a serious sale (-90%), and it wasn't even worth the money then.
AER is a beautiful game
I DIDNT UNDERSTAND MUCH, BUT HOW IT IS SO GOOD?? 10/10
I've played this game twice now in full, once on Switch and again here and I still don't tire of this game. I don't think I'll ever get tired of this game because of how calm and relaxing both it and the music is. The game and it's soundtrack are worth every cent and I love them both.
it's a gorgeous game - the visual style and animations are beautiful, and it's almost meditative to fly around and explore the world - and for this i overall recommend it, if only because of its frequent low sale price
unfortunately... this is sorta all it has going for it; it's missing some essential QoL stuff, most notably a journal feature accessible from the menu to keep track of where you're heading next and what you've already done (and an entry log for lore stuff you've unlocked wouldn't go amiss...) - i know you can talk to the folks on the island to get a sense of what you've got to do next, but it's a pain in the ass to fly there and back, and doesn't help if you get turned around in a temple and lose track of what you last did
also, without going into spoilers, the ending is extremely disappointing - like, what, you're going to hype up this confrontation and then just give a handful of vague cutscenes and end the game abruptly in the middle of one? it's not even a well done cliffhanger ending
tldr buy it on sale and just have fun flying around as a funny bird
I bought it for 1.49 and I'm glad I did. Game is very small, especially for how fast you move. It's also very short, short enough that I beat it in under 5 hours with all achievements. Basically all you do is fly around and look at stuff, which I thought was very novel and enjoyed. You find little tidbits and stories everywhere, both in environmental storytelling and scrolls around the place. I'm sure I didn't get to read everything, but I felt fairly thorough by the end of the game. The world, despite being very empty, is impressively immersive and interesting, even if the narrative isn't particularly great.
If you've ever played Wind Waker or Skyward Sword, and you really really liked the environments of those games, I would pick this game up if you can get it for like 5 bucks.
If you want a game that challenges you in literally any way, don't get this game, because apart from a couple jumping/movement puzzles, you can get through this game by basically just walking. It's all exploration.
My only problem with this game, however, is so big that I almost wouldn't recommend this game at all even if it was free.
Spoilers: There is no resolution to the plot. You get to the final area and the game ends abruptly, as though the creators couldn't be bothered to think of an ending. I'm not opposed to open ended climaxes to games, but this game ends right before the climax. The execution is just bad in my opinion
Beautiful, sweet music, nice flying mechanics
