Carmageddon: TDR 2000:

I feel like this game gets harshly mistreated through holding the burden of being essentially a stepchild no one likes primarily because it is a stepchild. It is not a bad game, it is not a bad Carmageddon game. It is simply a game that wasn't developed by Stainless. It does lack certain things that the older titles had, but it definitely does not deserve to be called a turd or a bad game because of this.
It has a different structure from the older titles in terms of progression/missions which I feel is a decent middle-of-the-road sort of deal. You do one race and then one mission, for 6 total per section. This means you do get less map variety, as it's the same map for 3 races, just a different route, but it does also let you go back and forth between the levels, unlike Carma 2. It also has more of a story than the previous games, as well as more of the full on post-apocalyptic atmosphere and feel that the previous titles simply do not; in Carmageddon 1 & 2 it feels like the races are just happening and do not have or have not had much of an effect on society or the environment. Here, they do. It feels like people are trying to survive as best they can but also just being highly aggressive towards you on occasion rather than being either immediately scared or frankly apathetic to you.
The car selection is also honestly not in any way remotely bad, it does feature even more references to pop culture and the movies that have been an inspiration to the series, such as two cars from Mad Max that you can buy throughout the game.
There is also a simple skins system that lets you tweak the way the car works through the textures themselves, providing an easy way to change the way the car looks, to suit your tastes better as well as to directly show that this car is now yours and not the opponent that you yoinked it from.
[h2]Story related spoiler below..
[spoiler] I genuinely feel like the best part about the story was that it was [b]all for nothing: [b] It was all a lie. Paradise does not exist.
I have nothing to say about this game, however I can tell that the reviews that say "the opponents teleport behind you or in-front of you while at full speed" and if they're racing, they "constantly teleport to get that 100% grip" are both true facts. Both happen off-screen btw with an exception that I've already just mentioned in the first sentence.
FROM THE LEGENDS OF MY CHILDHOOD 😇😇
Bloody, stupid, brutal - all these adjectives were always automatically attached to everything where the word Carmageddon appeared.
Carmageddon TDR (the death race) 2000 contains ten very different environments, each with 6 missions waiting for you. Simply put, two types of missions alternate. One type is a classic race with opponents and time for several laps, where you are additionally limited by time. The second type is some kind of special missions where you have to complete a task for which you try to complete several sub-tasks.
But even this time you are pressed for time. These two mission types alternate regularly. And I don't even need to add that only after the successful completion of the mission you have the opportunity to move on to the next mission. It's the same with virtual worlds. After completing all the missions from one world, the next world becomes available to you, and so it goes on and on until you get to the final and most difficult mission, where you have to cross a mined and half-destroyed bridge, and when annoying cops also try to stop you. But before you get to the very end of the game in the Police State, a long, long time will pass. 55%
Win 11 fix
the only thing you need to change is the resolution to: 1080p 16 bit 59hz
that's it!
I know most players of Carma series wouldn't remark too much on this episode, but I sense improved handling in this work, the most hated con in this episode is the timed mission, which is "not that Carma".
