Take to the skies and fly past mountains in a wingsuit. Try to hug the cliffs at over 250 km/h or cruise at high altitudes and admire the scenery.
Your body and gear are fully physically simulated. You fly by controlling your character's muscles directly, which changes your pose, which interacts with the air around you. You can see, hear, and feel every gust of wind as you pass it.
The current version already has a lot to play around with:
- A single, finely tuned wingsuit to fly with
- Customizable parachutes
- A huge landscape inspired by the Swiss and French Alps, with lots of lines to try
- Dynamic time and weather that is also completely customizable
- Multiple camera perspectives (including first-person view)
- Highly configurable graphics and input settings
- Time Trials that push your skills to the limit

Unfortunately no longer in working order - windows 11 disables the visualisation on headset. Discontinued product that should be removed from the store.
I played it in VR and I really love the 3rd person view and the feeling of flying. I actually played this game for the first time today, but about 9 or 10 years ago I followed the dev on Youtube. His videos inspired my to make my own game (Lucid Trips VR). Thanks for that <3
Only realistic skydiving game in my opinion, pity they never finished it. I learnt real things I applied to my actual skydiving. Not to be taken as real but you can learn plenty ie lines, speed = lift etc

I like the game but won't recommend to buy it. I thought of giving a thumbdown but I enjoy playing it.. I bought it because of what it is not what it could have been, There is nothing beside flying around, to start missions we have to go though a circle and I crash before even passing it.
Why I bought this game?
* I grew up around mountains, and skydiving is. fun. I just wanted to relive the moments. See the mountains up high. The game does it in 60 fps. Controls are a little clunky, but I was flying. That matters. It's a shame the game will never get fully released.

As several people have mentioned, this game is an abandoned game in Early Access. What you see is what you get. The good news is that it's only .99 cents and there's enough here to give a tepid recommendation even though the VR implementation is not the best.
I tried using my Touch Controllers but it caused problems accessing the menu (fixed by restarting & getting past the menu screen with Touch). I recommend using an Xbox One controller for the best experience, although the controls are very sensitive. You need very light touches on the triggers or joysticks for navigating through the course.
You can choose between using the wingsuit or a parachute. I think the courses are meant solely for the wingsuit because the parachute is very difficult to control. The courses are basically time trials where your goal is to hit all the rings from the start to the finish. I think you only need to hit the first and last one though to get credit for the race. There are several courses to choose from with different sides of the mountains, but there is only one map.
This game has a very high skill bar. It took me several tries just to finish the first course I tried. You can change the perspective from 3rd person to 1st person, but then in 1st person it's almost impossible to navigate, especially in VR. There are also day and night cycle options as well as weather options in the settings.
As far as issues in the game, I noticed graphical artifacts at time as well as going under the world when crash landing. The sun reflections in the distance caused a strange issue in VR which takes away the 3D effect. There was also pop-in issues at a distance. The tutorial says to just go to YouTube.
Rate 5.5/10. While the gameplay is challenging, I think most people will be frustrated by the controls & high-skill bar. Also, VR is not well-implemented overall.
The best wing-suiting you'll ever experience in a game all for less than £1.
Its a real shame that the game has had to be abandoned by the developer. The map is great and the controls are easy to pick up, yet have a high skill ceiling. The game had so much potential and it is a real shame the dev couldnt afford to carry on with it.
As it stands there is map with multiple starting points. Each starting location has several "checkpoint-style" routes. The map is big enough but i wish it was bigger.
For the money it is a great little experience, a fantastic game to just relax and singsuit around, if thats what you are in to. But dont expect anything more. While he mechanics of the game have been dialed almost to perfection, the rest of the game is still very much in its infancy. With a single map and no real gameplay systems beyond the checkpointed routes.
I hope that one day they add in modding capabilities or a map editor, which would breath more life into the game. But as it stands, what you see is what you get.
The game is worth picking up, it is a taste of brilliance, but only a taste. The games biggest downfall is that it leaves me longing for what could have been.
It's 0.99 so keep that in mind but I really enjoyed this game. Even if the developeres are no longer working on it. It is beautiful and fun to just casually fly around, or wingsuit around if that is your thing. The flight controls are a little difficult to get a hang of at first but after a little practice they are alright. If you enjoy the idea of paragliding/paramotoring you will enjoy flying around under the parachute (wing). They have actual wind currents and you can even fly by updrafts alone. I would hilghly reccomend checking it out if you just want to have fun with no objectives. It is a great game to just chill to and fly around.
People complaining about the game's development stopping - shut up. You bought into an Early Access game that sadly ran into too many problems financially to continue. It says plain and simple on the Early Access header; "This Early Access game is not complete and may or may not change further."
You were aware of this when you bought the game, nothing was to be guaranteed.
As it stands, Volo Airsport is a wonderful Tech demo for a game genre that is severly lacking in decent titles. The physics are sharp and well tuned the (single) map is big enough to explore and try out new lines, and the parachute editor is second to none. I'd say that it's a little expensive for the state that it's in, but if you enjoy airsport games, this is a must have.
EDIT: As of today (28/11/2018) Volo Airsport is cheap as figurative chips. For £0.79, this is a fantastic tech demo. Recommended!
DEAR DEVELOPERS,
I'm so sorry to learn that you have now permanently discontinued the development of this game.
I'm also surprised that you are continuing to sell this game on Steam without any clear indication or notice to your prospective customers that this game will never be completed!
What are the possibilities that the developers (past tense now) will, at the very least, release modding code to the community.
That way, at least those of us who invested our money and our hopes in you and this game, will be able to get something closer to a finished / complete product.
i.e. allow the community to produce...
• Character Skins
(devs should have at least updated the skin a long time ago).
• Terrain Maps
(devs should have at least added to the one game map a long time ago).
• Adjustable Map Vertical Scaling
• Abilty to add in-game Targets and Obstacles
• and everything else we'd love to see added to the game!
In general, allow the modding community to do what it does best - enrich and improve upon (well, sometimes!) what is already in any base game.
I hope you do respond to this and give those of us who invested in you and your game some final hope and good news.
Thank you for creating a great product... albeit, now destined never to be completed by its developers.

I've had this game for more than two years and thus far all that's changed is that one of the camera modes is gone and the game looks slightly better.
Pros
It's kind of fun to glide for a while.
Cons
You are a stick person and your wingsuit is just triangles glued onto your body.
Music sucks.
Controls are slow and somewhat unresponsive.
Nothing significant has changed in more than two years.
Game is unplayable on the Vive. Tried both with a 980 gtx and 1080 gtx with same results, frame loss all over the place. The devs have been aware of the issue since May and no fix in sight and no further response on the issue. Stay well clear of this if you have a Vive
Good game. In the trailer it shows good graphics and there was no letdown there. Physics were ok. Definetly waiting for the parachute and online multiplayer update, which it says on the website will be coming soon. Maybe some custom skins/wingsuits. Good overall.
VIVE:
This is full 3D immersive vive minus controllers. If you like flying games, or racing games I fully recommend it. FPV might not be great if you weary of VR sick, 3rd person is awesome though. Truly feel like a bird soaring through the air. So far my favorite game I have in the VR library, buy it!
Can't wait to pull a parachute for that perfect landing after a great course run devs :)

TL:DR Neutral Rating, as of the release 3.6 - Their video shows you all you need know about Volo!
This is the first update I've ever experienced since buying this Early Access piece (Nov '15), so stick with me...
Firstly, as of this point, 20 out of 21 people found this review helpful. Worth keeping in mind as it is rated as *Negative*. I've kept my original review below as it is worth reading through the chain of comments that sparked off, due to my unhappiness, and the responses involved thereafter (10th Apr - 10th May). To my surprise, the developers were not, as suspected by me, camped out in a bar, but are indeed still working on this project, perhaps with renewed vigour. Who knows?
So, reviewing this again since I've had time to re-play and re-test. It's definately more stable. Actually, a lot more. I regulary had to 'force quit' the previous version as it hung during loading about 50% of the time. This one for me, had never failed to start since it came in and I've been in and out of it maybe 20 times so far.
As for the content change itself, I was hoping for something more significant than a few shacks and hated wind turbines dotted around as eye candy. However, we are still promised parachutes and multiplayer. No mention of more map choices as yet, but I'll be keeping an eye out for update news snippets for future possibilities of worthiness. The sound output has also changed from being active, to passive. I can't tell anymore just how close I was skimming past surfaces. Something I loved. Instead, now it sounds like a flag fluttering at 15mph no matter how close I get to a virtual surface. Oh, and there's dynamic grass now! A nice touch for when you do eventually hit the deck at high speed, but "Mehh"
Why have I rated this as Neutral? Purely for the following reason. I would recommend this, but for the lack of proof. Proof of commitment and fervour. One released update in 6 months dosen't do them justice.
My ultimate recommendation then, is to watch and wait. Stick it on your wishlist, or follow it. See for youself if it's worth bothering with in a few months time, or set your own timescale as I can't even guestimate what will happen next with this project. Perhaps take a chance and buy it if you've got the cash to spare. To help them out and all that......

Early Access.. Pahh.. ...Should read "Early Abandonment"
Don't bother with this. After 6 months of complete silence from the (dare I use the word) devs, my feeling is that you'll just end up feeling robbed while they pocket your cash. ...Unless some crazy update happens, this review will remain to help guide people away from this as an investment of faith. 6 months ago, I had faith they would pull through and took a chance as there are just 2 people working on this. As of today, I have every faith that they've abandoned this project and set up camp at a bar.
I can barely manage 5 mins a day in it's current state as it just gets boring after a while
Serious fun,
Grab an Xbox360 controller, some chill beats,this and relax and chill for hours.
Awesome learning curve that makes for some really satisfying moments soaring close to mountain peaks and reaching breakneck speeds.
Devs are great too, staying active on the forums and giving sweet support.
Pick up this game, you won't regret it, I promise!
THE DEFINITIVE REVIEW (SHORT)
What is this:
A physics based simulator of wingsuit/parachute. Offering one really gigantic map, several exit points, endless lines to master. Some mastering included.
This game requires:
- patience
- "what's behind that hill/how close can i get" type of curiosity
- constant, microscopic mouse movements. Your CS/CoD skills ain't sh*t here. You gonna die A LOT son.
What is it about:
- having a relaxing time in the sky
- mastering that controll skills, learning the winds and lines, and having that about 2 minute intense experience of doing it F*in perfect!
What it is not:
- easy, you will get frustrated A LOT in the beginning, stick through it. This is all about mastering. Reconnect your brain with your arms, for you really need to get a feel for that blue baloon man muscles you get to controll.
How much time does it take:
- couple hours to get in, about 50 hours to master it, about 400h to have yourself a break... and come back... and come back...
- most lines are about 1-2 minutes long, which is a plenty for an intense proximity line
you can fly for about 15 minutes if you get to master the thermals
TO SUM IT UP
Yes.
The game is not developed anymore, but by none means does that mean that this isn't a finished game.
For what it offers - physics based wingsuit and parachute simulator - this game is well considered a finished game.
It's really one of a kind, none other game got it that well.
Hard to really get into, but rewarding as hell.
Drop in some music on headphones and fly. Brilliant after a long days.
Plus, it's only 1$ now.

for VR, regular experience and learning curve it's a steal.
If you like it more hardcore and less fancy, go to steam options and choose an older build.
Despite not being finished Volo is still a great game.
If you want to experience way well done wingsuit simulation wether in VR or not, forget all the Steep nonsense and jump into Volo. There's actually a physics model here to both wingsuit and parachute.
You can fly for 30 seconds or about 2 minutes of intense ride, if you master the winds you can stay in air for about 5-15 minutes of cruising. It's a game that doesn't take much of your time yet offers a chill and thrill like no other, it's a unique experience - just like wingsuits themselves.
You may not get the full product and super pimped up graphic of a wingsuiter, but take it from others that played this game for long - the blue man grows on you very naturally, while not being realistic it's simplicity offers great insight into whats going on in air and with jumpers body while minimalistic design allows you to connect better to the actual experience of what's going on all around you, it doesn't distracts you with outstanding textures and pixel shader 2000... scenery does, and it's gorgeus.
Flight's not easy, you have to learn it, it's gratifying.
Forget your counter strike instincts, let yourself chill with very minimal mouse movements as you go downhill 200km/h.
(pro tip) Trace this --> OO slowly with cursor as if you were drawing infinity symbol, that's how you play Volo with mouse.
IF you feel like flying, give Volo a try.

What is it?
- a game about flying
How long does it take?
- single jump can be anything between a couple seconds, up to about 10 minutes for now, with an averge speed flight close to earth being about 60-120 seconds... so not really long, but "A moment was the most you could ever expect from perfection."
What's the story?
- for now: You got kicked out of heaven, you have very short time to live; Learn to fly or die.
Make the most of the time you have left, soar through air, fly as close to earth as you can, fly as fast as possible, find the way to never touch the ground, enjoy the stunning sunset above beautiful mountains as your short life as a blue stickman angel comes to an end. There's but a one rule for now - ground is lava.
What can i do in it?
- master the art of flying, gliding, proximity flying, some other technical terms, AND CANNONBALLING!
- download players made challange paths (from Volo forum)
make your own paths and fly them as fast as you can
- fly around seeking new paths to fly, new winds to use, making stunts along the way just for the thrills
- select a spawn point from which you begin
- change the camera view (left foot and right foot(GoPro style), first person, third person, frontal, and free view(two last not really usefull for flying but you can get nice photos ;D))
Is it easy to play?
- Not at all! For now there's no tutorial, but that's not a big problem since the controls are intuitive and it sets your brain on fire - first, to survive the fall, then to fly as far as you can, finally to fly as close to earth as possible doing stunts while flying as long as you can. It can be frustrating at the beginning, since your experience with it won't be like the trailer, but if you put your mind to it, you'll quickly learn to fly and begin to understand the mastery of the Art of flying!
Is it worth it?
- depends on how much you're fascinated by flying.
If you dig skydiving, wingsuits, basejumping and all that stuff, i think you'll love this game!
Despiting not much of content (for now), the game already offers amazing physics to play with, along with captivating gfx. It all feels very natural and realistic.
It's challenging - don't only limit yourself to flying as fast as possible. Do cannonballs, make turns, spin around, fly on your back, learn the winds and how to use them and you'll be flying for many minutes in a single jump.
Create the crazy course using all of the above and see how fast can you and others make it!
The devs are active and communicating with players, and there's a lot of stuff to come!

As an ordinary player, for now i'd give it a strong 5/10
As an enthusiast that looks for the game about wingsuits, that would give you the thrill of realistic flight, not story based and long, but captivating and moment taking, the score is 7/10 for now.
Finally, when the game spreads it's wings (more content), make the score 9/10
Final word?
I say Volo Airsport is well worth the price as it is now.
Some may disagree; it's all about seeing and living the moment and will to master the art of stickman flight. It seems simple, but it's hard to master, with a lot of place to play around with pyshics and aerodynamics.
I found nothing better after a stressfull day, than to put my headphones on, play some sweet music and fly the stress out!
I think we have a winner, it's just not me!

We need a proximity flying game, glad to finally see this hit Steam.
Simple, beautiful, challenging.
If you are a fan of skydiving or proximity flying this is the game for you, its almost like you can feel and hear the power and force of the air gusts shoving you around. Nothing beats ripping down a cliffside at 135mph and just one little mistake can be fatal. The game's physics and mechanics are amazing, the controls are well done and playing with a controller is key. You actually fly through simulated air pockets, lifts, and gusts while cruising at speeds of 100 to 160 + mph just feet above the ground...well that is the way I like to fly anyways. The beauty of this game is the map is open, drop in from one of the various spawns some simulating base jumps others simulating jumping out of a helicopter. Really well done little game how it stands right now, something new finally.
Its early access, meaning not much content small in size around 150mb. Do not let that discourage you from buying this game, Volo Airsport has a lot of potential here. Can't wait to see whats in store for the future.

it is pretty impressive to play it with the oculus dk2. hopefully there will be enough people who like this kind of game, to make sure you keep working at it and improving it.

100% recommending this as an early access game
This game is simply beautiful. I have always wanted to fly. Ever since I could recall, I looked up in the sky and wanted to be a bird - To fly. To truly fly. I wanted to soar between mountains, inside valleys, around cliffs and over forests.
Unfortunately, humans can't do that. But this game...
This game does that.
There is no story.
There is nothing but you, your wingsuit, the mountains and the air.
Simply beautiful in its purest of forms.
I hope they update the model, but... otherwise... simply, utterly beautiful in its simplicity and awesomeness.
If there is one game on all of steam... just one... this is it. This is the one you need to try.
An amazing game! It's still in early access, so it's a bit rough on the edges. But otherwise, a fantastic game which I recomend to all! A controller is recomended, however you can still play with keyboard and mouse. Overall a fantastic game!
