Peak starwars
YOU KILLED ME
aside some clunky input and audio missing bugs its a short thrilling star wars adventure that really leans into the power fantasy of being strong with the force! i grew up with the force unleashed games and i really love them. story is interesting too! and Sam always gives a solid voice acting performance
.
shi was tough
Short and very clunky hack and slash Star Wars classic where the midi-chlorian counts and force powers are way off the charts. The force is strong with this supersith.
If (like me) you're really into Star Wars and want to play most of the games you might as well give it a go (on sale), but otherwise you're better off spending your time with better Star Wars or other games.
Amazing game. Graphics are obviously a bit aged, but honestly better than you would expect from a game this old. Gameplay is a bit whacky sometimes, but mostly fine. Story is insanely good. 9,9/10 game
Classic.
Game is full of bugs, capped at 30FPS. You can use a modified EXE but it breaks some mechanics.
The Story is okay but gameplay is shitty, you can get stun locked by some enemies.}
Not worth getting!
Played the original looong ago, this is a good change of pace, a good classic game
My favorit game of Star Wars, 2008 he looks extremely well for is age, always loved, but that said, I so desepointed than steam let this game with a lot songs bugs after the level of Felucia (lvl with the planet in the Dark Side), the original dosen't have it, and yet known problems of the platform when I look into the Forums.
So good! Fucking people with lightning is the best shit ever!
Fun game
Eh, I just finished this game for the first time. Do I recommend it? Yeah, I guess so. Maybe 3 stars. I tried playing it on Sith Lord difficulty, and at the difficulty, force powers and lightsabers didn't have much effect on many enemies. I found myself often running or hiding from purge troopers or other enemies until I had enough force to zap them with lightning, then repeat over and over until they're dead. Not fun, just annoying. The checkpoints weren't spaced very well. You die, then you have to defeat those two difficult enemies with annoyingly high health again before you get another chance to fight (and probably die to) an even more absurdly difficult enemy. Oh, and you have to rewatch all the cutscenes since your last checkpoint every time you die. Not skippable. Melee combat is unintuitive and not especially fun. You have all kinds of combos, but the instructions for using those combos are confusing and hard to remember, and the combos themselves are often ineffective on certain enemy types. Double jumping doesn't work very well; I died several times because I tried double jumping, but the second jump never happened. Aiming was hard to control. Want to throw and object at an enemy? Good luck; it will probably go flying in the completely opposite direction. If, by some miracle, a giant, heavy object does hit an enemy, it will only take off a tiny portion of their health and, if you are very lucky, it will stagger them just a bit. And when your character gets knocked down, he takes a nap. It takes forever for him to recover. The story is decent in principle, but the way it's told makes it feel like there are bits missing. And this PC port feels really buggy and poorly done.
With all that said, when it is fun, it really is quite fun. I enjoyed tossing enemies off of ledges (which, happily, there are plenty of). I think if you play it on an easier difficulty, it probably would be a decently fun game overall. Just don't bother playing it on a harder difficulty. On harder difficulties, it is too often tedious, not fun.
classic
one of the best star wars games
SOOOO GOOD! I had this game on my childhood ps3, but never finished it. BUT NOW I HAVE TWICE. My inner child was pumped
cluncky controlls and thanks to a freidn i played and very hard it was a pain last battle took almost ages :) But cool story and better then the new once from Disney.
The game is too jank for me. 30 locked fps.. and using powers is too clunky. Instead of using telekinesis to throw the object at say where my mouse it like in previous Jedi games, the game throws it wherever it wants. Passed the tutorial but in the very fist mission after, you have a bonus objective to destroy 5 fighters and maybe one of 10 times the game would actually do what I want because they locked the movement of the object to the keyboard but also the direction of the throw to the same key, so can't properly hit anything. Just way way way too much jank and not worth it while trying to play at 30fps..
Despite every review I've seen saying that The Force Unleashed is just okay I feel like it is one of the best games that LucasArts has ever released. It has a compelling story, really cool art design, game-play that is down right fun as hell, and a prologue level as Darth Vader! The Ultimate Sith Edition is unique to PC seeing as the game did not initially release on PC and includes all 3 DLC missions (which are quite lengthy) and dozens of new costumes and skins for some added entertainment. The PC port was put together by Aspyr who are now known for resurrecting just about every old Star Wars game for modern hardware and I am very thankful for that. The game has high quality graphical detail relative to its Xbox 360 and PS3 counterparts as well as Xbox controller support which I recommend taking advantage of seeing as console ports to PC are always tricky. The only beef I have with this game is that cloth simulation effects are turned off by default and you have to go into your PC settings to turn them on as opposed to that being an in-game option to change. ALSO, there are sounds missing from the final two levels of this game which is a Steam specific bug that drives me crazy! There is an easy fix out there but I would love to know why Steam wont remedy this on their own. Other than those pet peeves of mine I really do enjoy this game.
NOW PULL IT OUTTA THE SKY!
Galen Marek is just the the better version of cal and force unleashed and star wars legends will always be cannon to me. fuck disney ill never forgive them for deleting 30 years of lore and destroying every franchise they touch
-Horrible map design
-Horrible set-pieces and boss battles
-Horrible parkour
Much worse than I remember, horrible experience, skip this one
game is about a solid 7/10 only issues are the last two missions have some broken sound you can find a fix on reddit. also lack of achivements on this version is a real let down/

This is a very fun game and it's got a good story. You are the hidden padawan of Darth Vader, and you do his secret ops missions killing Jedi, and you inadvertently end up affecting the timeline of Star Wars. There aren't so many lightsaber moves or Force powers that you get confused/overwhelmed. Combat is fun, except for the handful of enemies that are sacks of HP or fly obnoxiously out of reach.
You get to kick people's asses with the Force.
Definitely recommend, this game was my childhood
that star destroyer level was horrible but otherwise this is a pretty decent, if super jank, hack and slash game. A must play for any Star Wars fan.
Jank but super fun
SO FAR SO GOOD ON STEAM DECK
Nice Game
A must play for any star wars fan. It lets you live out that jedi fantasy of being an epic force user with different costumes and lightsaber colors. Game is among the top 5 best star wars games. It's this, battlefront 2 (2005), and knights of the old republic which hold the title for best star wars games IMO.
The game is unacceptably clunky, the graphics are not very good and the camera is dogwater. Unless you're a Star Wars fan, avoid this one and play the second
What is their to say! It's a great game.
its a great game that does not hold up. i can usually ignore age in games but this game is kind of unplayable. visuals are hard to look at and the controls are garbage. it NEEDS a remake
a neat intro to the epic and over-powered starkiller
The Game Jedi Fallen Order Wishes it could be
Awkward. The first thing that comes to mind. Through its myriad of great ideas in terms of gameplay, enemy types, settings, giant set pieces and so forth, all is underlined with an unshakable awkwardness. Sounds and soundtrack come and go when they feel like it, audio balancing is a joke, even when you try to adjust the volume, the game changes it up during cutscenes. Checkpoints are too few and unforgiving, even manual saving does not override them at all. Throwing things around using the force is super impressive and fun, until it becomes vital. Then you realize that it's incredibly imprecise, only works half the time and is impossible to aim. Even the combat system, which promised greatness, is actually just your standard one button combo which you can zazz up with a finisher force power. Boooring. It's all about using all your abilities in tandem. It was a great idea to do something like this, make a game about a force user that is able to go all out with their power, no holding back, absolute mayhem. The story they came up with to justify that is also fun, and while it remains surface level in some regards, it delivered something interesting and out there. I dearly wished that this game would be a hidden gem forgotten by time, but with everything said, it's still not really worth going back to. I didn't even have the patience to finish all the extra levels. I'm hoping my memory holds true about the ps2 version being so much better than this.
Rest in Peace, James Earl Jones.
Fun game, would highly recommend.
I really don't understand why people to this day still hype this game up. I'm working on my PC playthrough for nostalgia's sake, but honestly, playing this again has just made me want to eat glass.
I played it back in the day when it first released and I thought it was great. 15 years later, this game doesn't hold up. At all. It has all of the problems you'd expect of a 15 year old game.
The combat is incredibly repetitive with pretty much the same exact QTE's for larger enemies. Sure, you can upgrade/unlock combos and abilities, but 95% of the combat is just spamming one attack button until the enemy is dead. Then you have the enemies that just...Constantly knock you down and slow the pace of the game to a crawl. Yes, it can be avoided, but it's still annoying to get stuck in a loop of "get up, get knocked down, get up, get knocked down, get up, get knocked down, get up and SOMEHOW DODGE AWAY BECAUSE IT DIDN'T WORK THE OTHER 4 TIMES."
There are quite a few mechanics that just BARELY work and when they DO decide to work, they aren't necessary to complete the objective you're currently working on. For instance, you have to bring down a Star Destroyer in one of the missions but in order to do that, you have to eliminate a squad of Tie-Fighters. Guess what? You have to use force grip and either throw them at each other or use the random floating junk that takes forever to respawn and float in front of you, which sounds fine on paper, but the problem lies with the fact that using force grip to throw ANYTHING requires an immense amount of precision or it'll fly completely off course. And then you'll be stuck waiting for junk to respawn to throw at it. I think I spent about 15 minutes trying to get past this part, and I'll be the first to admit that it's probably a skill issue, but it's also incredibly annoying because there wasn't another section like this in the game. Couple this with the fact that the little QTE to re-direct the Star Destroyer turns green, so you think you'd need to let go, but then it just forces you to do the same thing all over again because even though it turned green, you still have to keep moving it. Makes sense, right?
Honestly, though, for the time period that the game was made in, it really WAS a good game. I PERSONALLY just don't think it held up super well over the years. It's definitely worth picking up and giving it a try, but it's not worth the 20 bucks. Definitely wait for a sale.
Classic! One of the greats!! 10/10
I saw a review saying the game is capped at 30fps. That's only true if you don't know how to use google. Buy the game if you're wondering if it's a good classic star wars game. It is.
a good game with a good enough story and interesting characters that really should be in disneys new canon and very fitting for its era (disney please bring star killer and the rest of the unleashed cast to the new canon) but the steam version works but sometimes when there were either to much enemies on screen or there was to intense action going on the game would crash (guess the games too cool for steam to handle)
Its capped at 30 FPS and no visual or performance options.
It's an okay hack and slash game. Your force powers are fun to use and the voice acting is good especially Sam Witwer. However the controls are extremely clunky and the combat difficulty has some crazy spikes for no apparent reason. And you will get stunned or start ragdolling all over the place frequently, must've spent at least an hour waiting to be able to move again. Overall the game is fine, worth picking up on a sale if you're a Star wars fan but the PS2 version is miles better.
