You play as Heart, an innocent robot fighting to escape the grip of the evil and all seeing machine QuAsSy (Quality Assurance Systems).
But make no mistake Heart&Slash is a hard game. Every death is permanent and means a new randomly generated level for you to start over with a different set of weapons and items you can use, new enemies to fight and secrets to explore.
Heart&Slash is an indie game developed by a small but passionate team. We have a tiny budget but big hearts, and we are giving it all to make this game (our first) the best we can.
Features (on final release):
-3 worlds to explore and fight in. Each world includes its unique enemies an bosses.
-Dozens of different weapons and equipment pieces (more than 100 in total) to customize Heart and your play style.
-Perma-death, but a persistent progression system that gives you more options as you play the game.

Great soundtrack, it's so fun. The game is surprisingly hard until it clicks. Feels a little sparse in places, like it's not quite finished, but it's still a gem. Pretty sure my logged playtime is much too low because I would have spent half that time just grooving to the menu music.

I would have enjoyed this game a lot if it wasn't for it's horrendous implementation of its keybind. For whatever reason the dev didn't consider Shift, mouse 4 and mouse 5 viable keybinds. For an action game such as this those are very important.
Also in game you can equip 3 weapons. So you would expect to bind weapons in numbers right?
WRONG the dev somehow try to fix what has been working for decades.
So this is his "ReVoLuTiOnArY" mechanic.
To use a "Left weapon" you gotta hold a key...hold a key to use it. So I had to let go of my movement key just to use the left weapon. And this goes the same on right weapon. That is how dumb it is.
When he could have easily just put all weapons in 1, 2 ,3 like any other games in the past 2 decades of game history.
I had to refund this game just cause of that "DeSiGn" he so lovingly chose. Next time dev do better.
Holds up incredibly well after all these years.
