The music is epic! One of the best soundtracks ever! It's like worms, but with tanks! A great homage, if that was the intent!

Shellshock Live is a quirky tank battle game that’s a lot of fun for a while, but here’s the catch: you really need to be ready to sink over 200 hours into it if you want to get anywhere close to max level! The gameplay is simple and addictive, with plenty of weapons and strategies to try out, but the grind can feel pretty relentless. If you’re looking for a quick game to pick up and put down, this might not be it. But if you’re in it for the long haul and enjoy leveling up your tank over time, it can be a good time with friends!

Simple fun, SOoooo many weapons that have no reason. I love the chaos!

The classic Tanks game from the arcade cabinets to the now defunct flash applications.
But in this incarnation, there are lots of twists!
Tons of ammunition, modifiers, and little aspects keep the matches fun and interesting.
Most astounding, and clever, is the addition of a simple-yet-effective leveling system.

You begin by lobbing very basic projectiles over hills at your opponents, but as you level up higher, you begin launching assaults of deadly disco balls, killer kittens, holy beams of radiance, bird droppings, and much more.

It’s wickedly creative, and between matches you can level up your tank to have more armor, higher critical chance, better equipment, or vastly increased traversal. Lots of customization options too.

The tempo is sinister and strong as well - you’ll hop into matches quickly, blow up your enemies (or get blown up yourself) and be going into the next match in record time with precious little downtime between.

It’s not much more over the original formula, and isn’t going to be captivating your heart and mind with novelties beyond the stars, but for what it is - it is strong.

It does have a shelf life. The core loop of lobbing things through the air to explode your enemy loses its finesse after a few hours - but it doesn’t push to overstay its welcome any.

Chatting with strangers while you embark on this silly, innocent, and simple game is a joy in and of its own.

It takes a classic formula and cranks up the entertainment factor to 11. You’re going to have fun exchanging humorous attacks with foes while chatting with them in camaraderie - but you also won’t have too difficult of a time putting it down after a couple dozen matches.

Shellshock Live is an amazing game and very fun. You can play it alone or with friends, and especially with friends its really funny and you can play for hours.
I like the big variety of weapons and upgrades and that it doesnt use a p2w concept. It's just grinding some rounds in between or for some hours straight.
I would really recommend it to the readers of this review.

Great game whether online ,with friends or going through the single player challenges. This game offers plenty of crazy weapons and maps as well as several game types and options.

It's one of the only fun PvP game in 2024.
It takes s long time to get the fun weapons and upgrades, but when you're there it's a blast.

I've played a handful of games with friends. It's cool.

You shoot and then you have to wait for the shell to go arcing across the sky and then impact. Then you have to wait for the enemy to do the same. I haven't found a way to skip any of this and it soon becomes tedious. There's also no way to do replays. Its not that easy to aim. There's no alternate scientific way of aiming and no fine movement of the aiming device, which would have been nice. Improving is almost totally dependent on leveling up as though storing up points could make you a better shot.

The game does have a variety of different shots and bouncing shots. Just think how boring it is to watch a bouncing shot that missed the target and is now pounding some random dirt. Really could have used a skip feature here.

The Fiesta level is a criminal offense.

I've seen so many youtubers play this and would always be like 'pfft this looks easy, they just suck!' then i played it myself. lol Its super fun but takes quite a bit of skill.

I love this game you can get hundreds of weapons with thousands of ways you can customize yourself. You can also play multiplayer with you friends or others online and you can play with you friends and family at home.

With plenty of upgrades and unlocks, there’s always a reason to come back for more explosive action. Perfect for quick matches or long sessions, it’s a blast to play, literally!

this has very little respect for your time, and many of the systems put in place make it difficult for a newer player.

levelling up your tank/weapons takes forever. you get very little xp per damage dealt (1 xp per 10 damage,) and trickshots and lobby xp multipliers do very little to help this.

levelling up is necessary to get most weapons, which are often much stronger than the starting equipment, as they either do significantly more damage, or are much easier to hit. additionally, those weapons need to be levelled up as well, through using them, and dealing damage.

levelling your tank also grants you points for the upgrade tree, which grants very significant benefits if you have one of them maxed, but very little if you're only putting one or two points into it. there's very little choice involved, as you're never locked out of any unique effects, either. you need engine power to be able to get out of holes after you're shot, to try to throw off any subsequent attempts, but you also want firing power for faster xp gain, and to keep up with the damage + shields other players have. additionally, you can also reset the tree once a week, for very little reason.

weapons can also be acquired through the shop, or through challenges. the gears needed to buy stuff from the shop will most likely be coming from a daily spin, than the actual matches you play; as, in most cases, a match might only net you two of them, while the shop's items can cost over 200.

there's very little depth, as well, other than remembering what your weapons actually do. (there's no descriptions for any of them.) some of the most reliable shots are at full power, and use the aiming circle as a reference point to modify where it'll land. if the lobby doesn't have wind, you'll hit 90% of your shots just by doing that. some of the best weapons are good because of the fact they do a significant amount of damage for just being "close enough". nuke does 100 damage and covers 1/4 of the horizontal space, good luck missing that. fireworks can do similar, especially when upgraded. travellers don't particularly care where they land, and hit several times just for passing through an opponent.

most of the maps are bad for cover, or making shots trickier, especially without wind enabled. a lot of them are very tame, being fairly flat or curved, with little in the way of ways to protect yourself, not that it'd matter anyways. overcharge and fortify try to add some decision making, but offer very minimal benefits at the cost of your turn.

more than anything, this game is mostly just a blackhole for time. it has the workings of a free-to-play game's progression, without the in-game purchases. i wouldn't buy this for the singleplayer alone, and the multiplayer is dwindling, and discouraging to enter. the gameplay itself is okay, and can be fun to hit cool looking shots, but everything else around it isn't great.

W game got to lvl 95 on xbox but no cross progression made me quit :(
