Great chaos, endless possibilities to loose, lots of characters to explore, i had an absolute blast playing this on a private server with three of my friends :D

Best survival experience, and in my opinion, multiplayer game experience as a whole with your buddies. This game will forever hold a special place in my heart. 10/10.

Got this game to play with my friends. They then stopped playing after I got the game. The game is fun through.

i only bought this game because of how cool its items (avatars, avatar frames, backgrounds) are in the points shop

it can be tough for new players, but once you get the hang of it, it gets really fun (Mods make it even better!)

This game takes time to learn. Its hard but really fun.
The process of dying every time in a new way and learning something new from it is your path.
Do look for some guidance or help in case its too hard.
Overall a really good game to put around 40-60 hrs in. After a certain point, it becomes repetitive.
But at that point you would already have had your money's worth.

Great game to play with the boys, great game to play alone. This is one of those games not meant to be beaten in a normal sense. If you like goofy themed horror survival games with a great art style this game is for you. I would recommend watching the character cinematics on this game steam page as well.

top-notch survival game with truly regular updates that keep things fresh and interesting. it can be very difficult and has a steep learning curve but if you play with someone who knows what they're doing you can learn much more quickly. the art style and music are also impeccable. any problems i have with the game are frankly quite minor and are easily fixed with mods (huge modding scene for this game too btw!). it's best enjoyed with friends but still offers more than enough content for solo players. playing with friends lets everyone's playstyles and character choices truly shine and you can patch up each other's weaknesses. 10/10

A very unique survival game its so overwhelming in a good way how much you can do in this game + you can mod the game, there are just a lot of stuff to do all the time and each character makes the experience feel different.

honestly i dont think this game is bad i just dont think it is for me and the type of gamer i am, i got this game to play it with my girlfriend thinking it would be a really hard survival game but its much more complex then that its very hard to learn anything without going on youtube or reddit etc so i dont thinks its very new player friendly which is fine but to a certain degree, maybe i havent played enough, im an fps and ark/rust player so im completly fine pumping thousands of hours but idk this game just didnt do it for me now enough of me ranting i would still say if its on discount for like 5 bux it might be worth trying for you but other then that not really

It's a game that expands the more you play and learn about it. It still gets content updates for those looking to uncover all the secrets, fight all the bosses, and participate in the new events.

It's also a game where you can just play the core survival loop and build your base in relative safety. If you just want to eat, hunt, and build on your own terms, you can turn off the hostile hound/pirate/cave worm waves that spawn in your server's settings.

It's a fun challenge as a solo game, and a different experience playing with others whether friends or randoms. The mechanics are much different from the truly solo Don't Starve games and expansions.

I love this game. At the time of this review, I have played 1000+ hours. I generally use it to farm and resolve big ass, functional bases, which is what I like. Once in a while, when I want more action I'll try bosses. I think it is cool that they add more things so people who play regularly don't get bored of it. And there are many things to do to cater to many gaming styles and needs.

The art is beautiful and it generally gives me great pleasure to play.

There are some things that are more tedious without mods which perhaps could be the only downside to it (I find it less enjoyable on PS4) but it is not that big a deal.

the only problem i have with it is the fact its rather laggy, and takes around 3 minutes to launch a server, and almost a decade to CREATE a server,

though thats probably what i get for getting a laptop and not a PC.

I like the variability in survival in this game. Nice graphic style, interesting gameplay with a variety of characters with special skills. Nice vibe, various bosses, great optimization.

Some games have a steep learning curve. This game has a difficulty cliff. If you arent glued to a guide, you will be miserable, not even due to skill issue but due to knowledge check in a game that teaches you nothing. I planted my ass in front of this game for over 20 hours, so I hope I have some sway when i say the curve is too steep.
also, i found out that combat is nearly impossible in multiplayer if you aren't the host of a game. Enemies have mega reach if you aren't player 1, So I thought the game was just an autobattler type of combat system with how undodgable enemy attacks were. I managed by taking care of myself between fights and armoring the best I could, but once bosses came into play, there was no point. I wont come back in singleplayer because of paragraph 1, but this game is just unfun.

A game I had a hard time learning and getting Into, Don't Starve Together Is one of the most grueling survival games out there. I always wanted to like the game but a distinct lack of knowledge made It hard for me to enjoy It. In 2025 Is when I finally got to enjoy DST and the friends that helped me learn and teach me the Ins and outs of the game I am absolutely In debt to them. I may never be a "great" Don't Starve Together player, but the friends I've made and the friends who have helped me with the game have made me forever love this game and love the community as Its nothing but nice and helpful people. DST Is a game everyone should experience for the community and the love and the passion the devs have for this game.

One of the best survival games in a multiplayer version, nice game mechanics, so many different playable characters, hostile and friendly creatures and ofc cool cartoon graphics. Love it.

I love the art and the game play. Very good Co-op survival game good for friends or solo. It has a lot of content to offer. very fun, if you have what it takes. 3:)

I spent like 30 hours just farming and can confidently say I don't know how to do anything but that.

Great survival experience so far, even better modded. I like how relaxing the game is and how the PvE works. Pretty "basic" game but done greatly.

At first, It is really difficult to survive for new players like me, luckily I have downloaded different mods and characters in steam workshop that helped me to play more easily. The graphics and characters are really cute, and I really love fishing and making traps for catching monsters. Cooking is really interesting, I enjoy using different ingredients (and even monster ingredients) in cooking, and it is always a big surprise for me to know how the food would eventually turn out. Sometimes I would watch different online streamers playing the game in different ways, and I am always happy to find out there are drops in Twitch.

I returned this game bc I was just trying it out. I was playing 2P and the 2nd player didn't like it and wanted to play something else. But it doesn't mean it's not a good game. It's a bit tough on the first run. Low resources, have to really travel out of your way to do things before nightfall. But from what I've watched from streamers is it gets better on multiple runs bc your camp progress saves. The art style and animations are charming. Nicer with friends. If you like top down survival games or spooky aesthetics you'll like this game.

I don't get it. There are like four biomes and a boring gameplay loop. There's no endgame. All the bosses are technically the same, the only thing that distinguishes them is their appearance. NOTHING ELSE. The caves are a bit of a downer. The game overall just feels like an unfun grind. I like that each character feels unique and has their own skill tree. They truly feel unique. It's just a shame that I don't really get what makes this game good. How is it rated "overwhelmingly positive"?

Best game, hands down. Comfort game even though it's tough to survive. It's funny because I traditionally do not like god perspective, top down games. However I love playing this game. Please buy it and try it out.

Ive played on my playstation for a while but finally decided that since i have a pc may as well get a game that i enjoy on it as well. I like it, a little laggy but that may be my computer right now but im happy

i really like this game because its survival but you can also collect and build things. you can also play with your friends and when you buy it you can give a copy to one friend.

This game is lovely. Love the artwork, love the vibes... the twiggy trees all need to be set on fire though. I doubt you'll find a more deceptively difficult game! It looks chill and easy, but omg, just wait until you experience winter and summer for the first time. This is by far the most brutal survival game I've ever played! If you're looking for a fun and engaging challenge, this is that game. There isn't any hand holding AT ALL, so you have lots to learn on your own (unless you have friends that also play). Difficult but rewarding.

Rlly cool multiplayer game with various weird and wacky monsters and creatures, very engaging, hardcore as survival gets, and even better with a cute little lottie to brighten up the game world, a pretty girl to protect and build a home for.

Highly addicting if you are into survival games and gathering resources.

The cutest survival game I've ever played, definitely worth checking out if you have a group to play with.

Just don't overdo it, you can easily burn yourself out.

The game is very good... Graphics that allow even the simplest PCs to run the game. The game's difficulty is a bit high, but the game is fun. At first it's a bit difficult to understand the game's dynamics, but then it gets easier to play.

Its such a fine game you can play with your friends and get mad at each other

Where to start. The game cant through my firewall. After fixing that issue. The game does not want to load. After fixing that issue I can finally get in game. Choppy fps ranging from 45-60. I semi fixed that issue and still get choppy fps. I finally got into the game was lost for about 2 hours wanted to refunded it but could not so looked up guides. Basically if everything does not happen in timely manner I die (which I get the game is hard and I love hard games). The way this game makes it hard is by making so much shit random. Took me 2 hours to look for a singular pig to get the ham bat and never found one. Wormholes are dumb sending me 2 feet away or cross map. Around day 10 dogs comes in and kills me because a bad spear is not doing it because a pig did not spawn for a ham bat. The only reason I looked into this game was because Terraria and Balatro had DTS in their games and I thought maybe I could try and I am not enjoying this game. Is it not for me or am I missing something?

i played this game on xbox in couch coop and it was great, and i saw it was on sale for 3 quid so now have it on pc and gave a free copy to my friend so now we can play online as well. Love it, and the PC version is even better than the console version

God this game blows. It sucks to die every 2 seconds and I don't have the patience to keep restarting or to learn how to min/max effectively and actually play the game. Would recommend

About time I did this, love the game, I've played it for nearly 100 hours still haven't made it to 70 days, I might suck at the game but boi do I enjoy it.

A super fun survival game with stylish characters and old timey charm.

not sure where the 95% positives come from, but here are my 2 cents (maybe more):

the positives:

- you get a free copy with your purchase to starve "together" with someone.
- art style and the 2.5D aspect sets it apart

the rest:
- the game doesnt even tell you about the 2.D and that you can rotate the camera. the only way you will find out is by either misclicking Q/E or going through the settings to see keybindings.

- might be one of the worst learning curves ever. you will feel like the game is super hard and there's so much to learn to become good, but there isn't. after a couple of hours the learning curve flatlines and there wont even be a time where you'll have to learn anything new*. but the game quickly becomes "post diamond minecraft". like you just wander around aimlessly and if you dont know what you're doing you probably won't ever meet some of the bosses. it takes 20 days till the first winter, by then you can already get bored of the game.

- you will run a couple of days around to set yourself up and gather resources, but then it quickly becomes gathering resources for the sake of gathering resources. the game has no goal, no lore*. it doesn't even HINT to you on how to progress or what to do to get to a boss.

- crafting mechanics are really clunky and stupid. very annoying that if the crafting station/structure isn't up your asscheeks it will not count.

- loot, storage management is maybe the worst in any survival game. its not even because of the 2.5D, since vrising does it well. this game has no way of building buildings (as in a house or shelves) and the shelves are so small for the amount of sh1t this game has, you will have to build infinite amount of chests that are flooding your floor and afaik you cant even label them.

- inventory management is even worse. it will randomly swap your tools around. like if you put your sword on 1 and your axe on 2 etc, once you equipt it and randomly picksomething up, now once that tool is unequipt it will go fk knows where and you'll have to go looking for it again. also having to drop my bag to wear my armor is stup1d. no, this doesn't make the game hard, because my inventory is right there and i can pick it up whenever. its just an extra chore.

- combat is garbage. it's just hit and run. there isnt anything new to learn, nothing changes, no need to adapt to anything new. just hit a couple of times depending on the enemies auto attack cooldown and run away. and god forbid the fight is vs more than 1 enemy (which it is 99% of the time because of the herd type of mobs), you will waste more time running than hitting anything because of how small the window will be. you'll have to spend time syncing their windup to get a window to hit. which again, doesnt make it hard, makes it just a chore. weapons are boring too, there are like 3 that actually change how the hitting works.

- characters are unique, sure, but you wont even know what half of their "uniquenesses" even do or how they work.

the * are for in case some of those issues, like lore change further in the game, but if i cant even invest into a character in the first couple of hours of playing, im not gonna sit there for 10 hours to learn more than my characters first name.

i know survival games are supposed to be "grindy" but at least give me a reason to grind. see (v rising, valheim, raft, grounded) etc.

all of it so so so cool cool cool no large fancy pc required no high intelligence required no graphix card required its so cool and so many characters perfect family game it can even be put on easiest mode for little babioies so cool i love love love this game i play it all day and night yes yes buy now you will not regret it yes
