buy it. its cheap, its basically just a very superior version of subway surfers
Great runner from 2015 that brings back nostalgia. Back in the days when running games were not a thing there was this one which felt quite unique at a time. Simple gameplay that give you 2 powers at start which change on each safe zone and the only goal is to run as far as you can (maybe finally reaching the end?). Somehow it capture some nice uniqueness in times where new games release every day. Also great music...

Surprisingly fun little game, worth every penny. A bit challenging, but you've got those various modes to practice. Pixel visual and BGM are both good. Many maps and it even has Steam workshop!
NEW HISTORICAL LOW NOW, JUST BUY IT!!!
"Run or Die" is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as if it was a real PC game (it's not)... it's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs. This mobile app is yet another of several hundred, if not thousands of garbage low effort endless runners plaguing Steam.
Like all endless/autorunners, you're moving and you can't stop. All you can do is avoid the obstacles coming at you in this incredibly shallow shovelware mobile app. There's some kind of mild sci-fi/cyberpunk wannabe theme, but pixel garbage looks like pixel garbage wherever you go.
In some ways this is a lovely trifecta of everything you should never do with a game... it's pixelcrap (looks bad), it's a mobile app (not even close to a real PC game), and it's an endless runner (terrible gameplay concept). This really is beneath anyone's time. But it's got trading cards.
From a technical perspective, as a mobile app, this doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result.
To make matters worse, while lazy, low quality pixel "art" has been used, making the game look bad, many elements of the game aren't done with pixelcrap... which accomplishes a couple of things. First, it shows the developers perhaps could have done better and they knew it, so that's a major screwup.
Secondly, it destroys any hopes the developer had of creating a "retro aesthetic" as their excuse for the lazy pixelart compromise... It looks completely inauthentic from a retro gaming perspective. Visually, this is a hamfisted mess, a dogs breakfast of bad visuals, and this kind of laziness and poor quality should never be foisted on gamers.
There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision.
Because this is a mobile app, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the iPhones that the mobile app was designed for. These are unfortunate handicaps and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was an afterthought for the iPhone developers who are to blame for this. The mobile app is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for mobile phones forces upon a game. Once more, mobile devs have made gaming worse for everyone. I didn't spend thousands on building a gaming rig just so I could pretend it's an iPhone.
These technical defects push this mobile app below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
"Run or Die" didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the mobile app, either. It has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the mobile app didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for "The start of a journey", playing the game for a few seconds (reaching 100 distance), trivial to get, but less than 37 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the mobile app. Hardly a success story, even the people who own this mobile app weren't interested in it.
So, should you buy this mobile app? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam?
"Run or Die" is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the mobile app, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 11,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.
