Play alone or in a group of up to 4 players and explore the endless amount of basement levels that are procedurally arranged every time you enter. Work as a team, open new areas, find weapon-mods, solve personal challenges, complete level objectives and unlock new skills to survive this trip into the unknown.
Main Features
Fast Paced Shooter Gameplay + Coop FeaturesThe game resurrects the old-school fast paced action shooter gameplay. Combined with deadly monsters and modern coop-features that encourage playing in a team to stay alive in a harsh and deadly environment. Find and join other players online or play via LAN. If you don't feel like playing in a team, you can play alone just as well.
Punishment System
Everything you do in this game has consequences. The more you take, the more the evil grows. Greed and too much curiosity will increase your punishment until you get completely overwhelmed by an endless tide of monstrosities.
Randomly arranged Levels
Every basement area is generated from hand crafted level chunks that are randomly arranged. After that, certain areas get locked by the “Architect” and you have to find certain key items to access them. Every level has final rooms with objectives the player has to complete in order to leave the level.
Create your own unique Play-Style
Besides customizing your appearance, you can also create your own unique play-style. Equip magic trinkets with unearthly powers that can completely change the way you experience the game. Want to become super tough, or do you prefer to run super fast? Do you want to deal lots of damage, or have the highest chances of survival? The right combination of trinkets makes it possible and sets you apart from other players.
Play in 4 different Game Modes
If you want a different experience besides the Ultra Violence, you can also select alternative Game Modes that may suit your style a bit more. Classic Horror gets your blood pumping while you are desperately looking for enough ammunition to survive the next enemy. Arcade Style increases the already fast paced action to the max, giving you the ultimate killing frenzy experience. And then there is the HOT Mode - the most innovative game mode in years...
Find Weapon-Mods to be more efficient
Every weapon can be upgraded with special mods. These can alter the way a weapon functions in dramatic ways. They may change the way the weapon operates, increase fire rate or give boosts like speed reloading.
Gain Karma by completing personal Challenges
You don’t just get experience points for killing monsters. Each time you play, certain challenges are given to you. If you fulfill your personal objectives, you get Karma points that you can spend to upgrade your Persona.
Unlock new Items and the Mysteries that UNLOVED holds
Within the levels are different mysterious objects scattered. By collecting them, you can later unlock new player colors, ranks, trinkets and pieces of information that may or may not have clues about this unearthly realm of insanity.

A decent rogue-like shooter. Imagine DOOM in the Unreal Engine, but instead of the map being made for you to just jump through one after another, the rooms are made like Binding of Isaac, where there's no true "exit", other than the elevator at the beginning. It's not the best game in the world, but it's rather cheap for a game that is still getting updates to this day. Plus it has co-op, so if you play with friends, you'll probably get more out of it than I did.
Buy only if 99% discount. fun for mindless low difficulty runs, but at higher difficulties it just becomes a mess, with monsters always teleporting around boxing you in. Unfair garbage
This is the exact game I've been looking for. Fun little horror shooter game. You can customize your experience by doing challenges, changing the game mode, adjusting the difficulty, equipping trinkets, and raising your heat level.
I like to hop on and play Hot Mode which is one of the game modes this game provides, where it slows down the game and only picks it up back to normal speed every single time you move. You basically have to plan out your movements, remember the rooms you've been in (which can be tough if you set the map to be big), watch out for your heat level, make sure you have enough ammo and armor most of the time, and becomes super stressful when you're reloading your weapon or even just picking up items.
I think people are being too tough on this game. Yeah, sure, I agree it's a little janky at times. But I don't think people really *try* the game out and see all the different game modes or the ways you can adjust your difficulty or even learn how the heat system works. Customize your experience! Play all the different weapons including the Kukri! Collect photos and learn some of the "lore" of the game! Play solo, play with friends, play with randoms! You're not going to get the full experience in 0.2 hours or even an hour of gameplay.
i thought about it again for a minute and realized that the game developer does not respect the players time. when you finally get to where you can take on abyss difficulty the chests are random and you can get duplicates. which leads to some ridiculous grinding if you consider that the abyss chests you get take a currency just to open. furthermore the bloat from random trinkets you get from finishing missions means if you want an organized trinket layout you will have to constantly clean out the trinkets you dont use so you can easily access the ones you do use. not to mention that when you switch out a trinket it reflects in trinket management where you could end up accidently deleting the trinket you swapped out since it ends up at the bottom of the trinket pile in trinket management... where all the ones you get from the end of a mission go as well. something which a smart developer would have thought of. the random rewards means a lot of let down and dissapointment when it comes not only to trinket inventory management. but also a successful run being essentially wasted because you already have that trinket and the duplicate is just a recycle for supplies. personally the concept is good but i do think the way the systems are set up eat at a players time. not all of us can be like lebowski and have days to ourselves. some of us have time constraints. furthermore i have played now long enough and started delving into the multiplayer to see that the netcode is in a very inconsistent state. i have ran into a handful of occasions where i could not reload my weapon when playing in someone elses game that they hosted which meant i coud not attack and thusly died. over all i will update as i find things but the game does have some potential.
rogue-like doom that plays on your greed for items by sending more and worse monsters at you. it's really fun and for $5 this is genuinely one of the best rogue-likes and games on steam. a sequel or an update that polishes everything up would genuinely make this game more appealing, but i love it's old-school survival horror aesthetic.
This game is fun—exactly the kind of experience I’ve been craving for a while.
It’s a fast-paced, arcade-style FPS with satisfying progression and unlockables. Simple, quick, and a breath of fresh air compared to the usual "competitive, multiplayer, PvP, AAA, overpriced, complicated" games we often see today.
However, it lacks depth, and if you’re the type who enjoys intricate, detailed game mechanics to stay entertained, this game might feel too simple and could become repetitive after a while.
If you’re looking for a straightforward game reminiscent of the old days, this might be the one.
8.8/10 – Definitely recommend.
The best game of all time
well balanced, very enjoyable game
AN UPDATE AGAIN LETS GOOOOOOOOOOO.
Also this game is great highly recommend coop tho solo can feel like peanus in the cheese grater at times.
yes
Bored with the boys and looking for a brain numbing shoot em up? Look no further. Procedural maps make each run unique and different. You can set difficulty and parameters to meet the play style you and your buddies like. Small level progression feels like you're working towards making your character stronger. Choose map style and map size, on top of various game modes. If you have nothing to play with the homies, look no further.
Fine little gore-horror shooter.
Still gets updates, crazy.
It's simple, fun, a little thrilling for me, but overall pretty good. I haven't tried the other game modes for now but I like it. Can't wait to play with my friends. I do understand that it might get to feel repetitive as some players have said.
Weird and wonderful, doom crossed with silent hill, just more objectives than doom, hard to get a game but when you do, its a great game.
So much red, reminds me of paint, I huff paint constantly. Anyway, 6/10 Good game
(My parents call me UNLOVED)
...its just one of those games
I'm here to collect collectibles and destroy demons, and I'm all out of demons
Fantastic game. You can play Abyss difficulty on Quad Damage or Fast Monsters and develop inhuman reaction times, like the ability to 180° quick-scope backstabbing demons and subsequently avoid getting your ass eaten. Come, and show the demons whos boss of this GYM, err.. I mean, abyss!
This game is proof that graphics do not make the game. Frequently come back to this again and again for a few rounds. Very fun horror/action game.
Repetitive
It's pure ass.
The more hours you sink in, the better it gets.
It's decent for what it is.
I haven't played this game in so long, but was happy to see that it was free today and that others could take a look at it.
Is this the greatest game you'll ever play? Nah...
But is it a good spooky fun time?! Yeah certainly.
The shooting feels pretty good, the reloads start off being quite long but get more manageable the more time and equipment you get in it. I love how the enemies move, most of the time they just sprint towards you, but I've seen some of the range one peek in and out of cover. When enemies are too far from you they will gain SUPER SPEED and run towards your location, so you never have to track any of the enemies down, they will come for you. This also will have the enemies basically teleport in front of you and it never stops making me jump. It never feels cheap, you will see the enemies coming and you will hear them, and they always stop before "striking" distance, so again, feels fair.
Honestly, give it a try!
I've played MUCH worse games, this one is a fun good time, especially with friends!

Great game.
Great aesthetics, there is an enjoyable grind, it is fun to co-op with others.
Definitely worth buying.
Will review again at 100 hours played.
It's fun! a little bit janky perhaps but the price is super fair and it's good fun with friends :3
I wanted this game to work.
It plays a lot like Killing Floor but darker.
The spooky atmosphere is great. The weapons aren't bad, at least the ones I had were adequate.
It appears to be more of a multi-player, death match style game, which is fine, but you can still play alone.
I spent most of the time in one, main room slowly going around trying to find ammo.
Unfortunately, even on the weaker difficulty I had a hard time with as the monsters appear to spawn in rooms you had just cleared which had no doors, etc,. so you cannot turn your back thinking it was safe behind you.
The HUD is hard to follow but I got used to it.
I am not sure the physics are up to speed as the creatures shooting blue fireballs at you seemed to hit you no matter how easily you dodge them. It almost seemed as if they had invisible versions of these foes so that when you dodge one, a second blue fireball would immediately be in your face from the left even though there was nothing there to shoot it.
The key bindings are hard to manage.
Set up for controllers as well as keyboards, no matter how often I clicked on the option to assign a key it would not do so. I had to exit to the main menu then go back in before it allowed me to pick a key.
There are no saves in this game. I never got far enough to know whether a save checkpoint had been met. But again, it is not a story driven game. It's just you and them fighting it out and nothing more.
While that is acceptable, I am finding it to be a trend of late where games do not allow saves or loads, just pick up where you left off at the nearest save checkpoint.
Picking up items also is configurable. It you hover over an item you have to hold down the button for several seconds before picking it up. I do not know what the reasoning was for making it this way. Maybe it was something in the original Doom2 mod, but either way I found it frustrating that something I can do in less than a second takes several seconds such as picking up some ammo.
I really did want to like this game and there are always going to be others who like the features I did not. That's fine.
But still, as someone who has been playing first person shooters since the Castle Wolfenstein and Doom days back in the mid 90's, I found this new trend to really make enjoying the games difficult.
Review made by someone with ADHD. (If I say it is good, then it is probably gonna be even better for you.)
Despite my PC struggling on max graphics and resorting to just playing on low, this game is a wonderful experience.
If you like just running and gunning and gore, this is for you. All the different settings, difficulties and procedural generation adds a lot of replay-ability which is something that makes a game worth the money, unlike games of today. *cough cough* modern call of duty *cough cough*
This game is 100% worth the default price and 500% worth the price if you get it on sale. Happy slaughtering!
10/10 will play again.
Doom Like Zombies?
It's a polished horror themed Doom2 mod on the unreal engine.
for like 5 bucks (or less if it's on sale).
Only cons I foresee is just
- how dead the random multiplayer
- no AFK / pause (its a server)
I am this game's title.
.
The game is good for a while then starts to drag on for too long,
Art is pretty nice.
Note: You can't pause during a run, it's a server, you can't go AFK.
It's AMAZING! for real. I appreciate what they accomplished. its gross, grity, dark, slight jump scares. it's engaging. brutal effects when you get HIT. and there are 1 second timers to pick up items. you have to plan and think about what to grab.
some enemies teleport - you have to always look around. only gripe is the sound doesn't seem to be 3d. it seems like it motion activated as you enter a room of area of the room.
For the ones who get bored. - that must be tough. delete your IG, snapchat, tiktok and stop watching vines and reels. you are making yourself bored from the 10 second videos.
Could have been more optimized considering when it came out, but it's a very unique shooter despite how simple it is. There's still nothing that has come out after this that I could compare to it.
ABOUT TO COMPLETE A LEVEL WHEN SUDDENLY I LOST ALL ABILITY TO MOVE OR FIRE. FUCK THIS TRASHHOLE GAME
