single player easy no one playing online boring gameplay
I usually don't like this type of games, but this one is addictive for some reason
really fun to play online, but singleplayer is too easy, even on hard mode.
Not much else to say. It's a ridiculous simple 3-key-game made right, noice!
PS: If you want a challenge, I recommend Lofi Ping Pong. Same kind of simple gameplay, but using rhythm
is a quite nice game is like mario tennis and pong in the "timberman universe" witch i really like it has a very cute and nice sprite work
a real life sim if a timer man played tennis
8/10
sim - 10/10
best tennis game 5/5
its a 1$ game stop complaining
hard to play (unplayable). I was expecting much but even when i try to play the game it just has random sprites streched out and flashing
Honestly not a bad game, if you pick this up and play with friends it could be a lot of fun. I would recommend buying it on sale and enjoy it with any friends or even try the online mode.
It's just pong?
Too easy on single player mode. Medium and hard mode could be a little bit more challenging. If I had friends or my husband to play with me, I imagine VS mode can be fun. I like saving money to unlock new characters, some of them are unlockable when you beat the tournament. Very unique characters. You can definitely spot the reference from your favorite musicians, movies and TV shows. I hope the developers add more stuff to the game, more unlockables, characters, tournaments and skins. I would give this game a 7 out of 10 lumberjacks.
Why? I don't know but if you played the cheap ass, horribly frustrating and addictive game this is based from; you just understand why it's good and buy the game.
Is there in depth end game? I hope so, but I'm not planning on it.
For the price I've already felt like it was worth while and I"m at .7 hours on record. I finished the tourn mode on all 3 difficulties, unlocked a few characters and have goals for knocking around an anvil instead of a tennis ball before feeling done with the game.
Cheap, annoying but addictive and fulfilling in 5 minute sessions.
Albeit simple, it's a very enjoyable sport game. You can only move on one axis, and on top of that there are only 5 spots on which your character can get; you don't control the direction of the ball (as far as I know). While for fans of high-end realistic simulation will find this game overly boring, those seeking a quick entertainment will find it very engaging. The power-up mechanic really adds to the game, and contrary to games like Mario Tennis, there is a variety of them available to any character, so it helps keeping the players attentive to what's going on.
The AI in skirmish mode is very intense and will allow almost no mistake, so it's really great for practicing. As for the tournament mode, it's way too easy. Even in hard mode, the challenge is almost non-existent, and the AI will make very stupid mistakes, such as going to the far end of the court during the serve, and letting it passes if you shoot the ball at the other end. It's still decent enough to have a good time.
I'm a bit sad though, because this kind of game used to be what would be posted for free as a browser game. I feel like now that there is a possibility to sell it, even at a very small amount, then devs won't bother posting them on Newgrounds and the likes. A whole part of gaming culture is dying.
What an excellent, marvelous example of a good tennis game.
Wonderful game to play if you have friends. (But dont worry you can play singleplayer like me if you dont have those)
But for real
Game does need a ball momentum update or else its just a boring endurance test. More power ups and ball support online would be nice too.
It's not bad...
But I was expecting a bit more. I was expecting something a lot more interactive, like at least being able to move in 4 directions, instead you just jack left and right to move your character to one of the ''squares'' the ball is going to.
There's a few power-ups you get during the match, that you're supposed to toss against your enemy, causing a negative effect on their character but most of them are more about affecting your VISIBILITY of the character, so that makes them kinda useless in PVE. On the other side, it's extremely frustrating to get 'stunned' on 'confused' away from the ball.
Also, the other Timber games had a LOT, and I mean a LOT of different unlockable characters, this one actually doesn't have that many, but for all I know, they might add more in the future. (If that happens I'll be sure to update this.)
Just so we have a pro, I will say that the design and the different stages are really cute and inspiring.
AND FOR FRICKS SAKE, MAKE IT SO I CAN MOVE WITH A AND D! WHOMST THE FRICK USES ARROWS KEYS IN 2018 ANYWAY!?
It's like Pong, but worst.
The Singleplayer mode is way too easy. Completed all difficulty levels as a complete beginner without losing a single game. in the online multiplayer it takes a while (too long?) to find a match.
The game might be fun with friends, but the solo modes and multiplayer modes are not great.
Oh, and thanks for sending the 25% coupon codes a few dayts after the release, your day 1 buyers love that...
Enjoyable, Addictive and a Channelge. Worth the purchase.

As a tennis nut, this was shot up my radar when I saw that trophy list. Have been Salivating for a new Arcade Tennis game that isn’t a Nintendo exclusive. We were given our new Simulation Tennis games this year with the like of AO Tennis, Tennis World Tour and Full Ace Tennis.
Yes, Timber Tennis Versus was already out on mobile a year ago. None of the crappy microtransactions, the grind to make your character stronger does not show up on the Console/PC Port. Every character here is equal in ability.
Sadly, just like the Mobile Part you have no control of where the ball goes bar the serve. Your will never miss as long as you are in front of the ball. You can’t foray into the net, can’t slice either. It a battle of attrition on the baseline, thankfully there are Random Skill Boxes that show up on the floor that help sway a tense rally your way. The box contains Skills ranging from turning into a giant, shooting a grenade, creating a mist, and so on.
Timber Tennis comes with a Career Mode, a Local Versus Mode, and Online Mode. Career Mode contains Skirmish Mode where you can play against AI, and Tournament. Online you can create a private lobby or fight against random’s in Ranked Mode. There is cross play, which a huge plus.
The scoring system isn’t like the Tennis System of 15, to Deuce. It whoever gets to the winning number first. You can set the winning number from 1 to 8. There no up by two when you are even. For example the winner is whoever gets to 5 first. If both of you are at 4 all, it whoever gets the next point wins.
You get gold for each match you win or lose. That you can use to buy Characters, and different balls. They are all cosmetic and have no changes at to the game play.
As a tennis fan, this was disappointing compared to other Arcade Tennis games like Mario Tennis and Virtua Tennis. I still felt like I got my money worth from the online mode. The thrill of dodging or neutralizing an opponent skill, grabbing a skill box quickly when the ball is going away from you and getting back in the nick of time.
At it’s price point of 1.99, and if you like a casual sports game then it is a recommend for me. The game is super easy to get into and the online mode alone is worth that cost alone.
If you are looking for a competitive simulation tennis game, then I would suggest Tennis Elbow 2013 or Full Ace Tennis.
There are better arcade tennis games, but at 1.99 it hard to not recommend. Cross Play at least means higher chance of getting matches. Online is packed ATM.
Play Time: 2-3 Hours on PS4, 15 minutes on Steam
Was not planning to pick up the Steam Version right away since I picked up the PSN Version. Having owned many of Digital Melody games, got a 25% coupon show up.
Achievements are a bit of grind. If I had to give a ball park on how long it might take, I would say 10-15 hours.
fun game!! cant stop playing!!
Fun little tennis game with decent features including VS mode and a ranked online mode which is cross platform. I didn't find anyone online but it just came out today.
