About the Game
Now fully rebuilt and remastered, Guild of Dungeoneering Ultimate Edition is a turn-based dungeon crawler with a twist: instead of controlling the hero you build the dungeon around them. Using cards drawn from your Guild decks, you lay down rooms, monsters, traps and of course loot! Meanwhile your hero is making their own decisions on where to go and what to fight. But will they be strong enough to take on the deepest dungeons? In between dungeon runs you manage your Guild, building new rooms to attract new classes of adventurer and expand your decks of cards with more powerful items.
• Bigger and better than ever, all content from Pirates Cove and Ice Cream Headaches is now included in the game for FREE! Not to mention new classes, new monsters, new quests and new chests full of loot.
• Customise your dungeoneers like never before with dozens of new hairstyles and accessories, as well as new victory traits to help them survive that little bit longer among the dangers you throw at them.
• Improved game mechanics and complete re-balance will make your time spent in the guilds and dungeons as fun and enjoyable as it's ever been. Sending Chumps to their doom has never been such a blast!
• New writing, animations, music and sound effects bring the dungeons and guild to life more than ever. But beware, the bard is back with his unique brand of snark.

TL;DR:
-Dungeons feel the same
-Build variety is bad
-Absurdly grindy
-Sound balancing issues
-Had plenty of time to iron out the kinks
-Not worth the price
6/10
Just started a fresh playthrough hoping the game had been improved, and it's disappointing. The gameplay loop of this game is still very basic and repetitive. All the dungeons feel basically the same, and build variety isn't very substantial.
Right now I have a character who gets +1 to heals, and is basically immortal. The best play is the same thing every time: light enemies on fire and sustain heals until they die. I'd kill him on purpose except that the other characters aren't that different, and I'd just be gimping myself.
Guild upgrades are cheap for the first tier but everything after that is an absurd grind. Four hours in and I've only bought 1 out of 12 tier 2 upgrades, and the ones in tier 3 are four times as expensive.
Also there's random sound balancing issues. Some classes/enemies have startling loud sounds compared to the rest of the game, and there's no way to manually balance the audio.
The game would need a lot of work to fix, and if the devs haven't fixed it by now they likely won't. Not worth the time or price.
I just LOVE this game! I truly DO! I can't wait to see what other games this group of most likely interesting creators, put out. Great Games Guys!
This is a very fun, very simple, and still occasionally quite difficult game. I find myself playing it for a few hours here and there when I want a distraction for a little while. Then I come back to it several months later and do the same. Very enjoyable.
Pretty fun tbh. I'll probably play it some time.
Fun to play. An awesome background game for when you are on long telephone calls.
worth it at any price if you enjoy something casual with a fun design aesthetic, pleasant soundtrack, and commentary.
Enter an adorable dungeon with funny characters, and then get smashed to bits.
I don't know if I could recommend this game at full price: it's okay but I think the concept really lends itself to some inescapable failures which is never fun to experience.
I think if you see it on sale for 50+% off, it's totally worth it to try it at the very least though.
It's the same as the original game without really making things fun; I don't see the ability to resurrect any of my old characters and the buffs you give in the game-play settings are pretty much useless, your characters are put into a meat grinder no matter what you do, all it takes is a bad hand, and an inexperienced player who doesn't know the rules. On top of that the stupid bard has nothing good to say for hints or clues on how to pass a tough character...
...play nice? Not in this programmers vocabulary. You can't do much more than make a character hot-dog look like a dressed up theme meal and stuff it into the dungeon's mouth.
First off don't pay attention to my time, that's only because I recently got the game on Steam, I have clocked DAYS worth of play on the mobile version. This has to be hands down one of my favorite games of all time, the music alone should be enough to get others to play. I love the difficulty to the game too, feeling rewarded when gear I've picked up from previous fights give me the ability that I need to survive the next encounter. Highly recommend this game to anyone and everyone, especially fans of dungeon crawlers and management games.
